AU Tax - Exclude Client's Bank details and DOB when sending lodged return
Outside organisations are requesting copies of Tax returns and we don't want to show Client's bank account details and date of birth on the Lodged Tax Returns when sending via Xero electronically.
Clients of ours firm are concerned with identity theft. If this could be implemented it would be a great feature.
This affects Xero Tax and Xero Practice Manager.

Xero HQ | Client list - Option to view client codes
We use client codes for all our clients. There is an option to input this into the client record, but it would be good to be able to see that on the screen and sort by it, rather than just alphabetical list of clients.

Xero HQ - Notification when a return is rejected by the ATO
To have the feature where there’s an alert in Xero HQ when a return lodge is rejected by ATO.
Purpose: This will help Accountants can easily know which Xero org that the return was rejected by the ATO.

Practice Manager (XPM) - Restore date and time details in Notes
XPM Notes - Restore date and time details.
With the new changes to notes in XPM it now shows an approximate timeframe ie- a month ago, 2 months ago.
It no longer shows an actual time stamp on the note to know when it was created or when it was edited...
We use the notes section to record ATO interactions and being able to give them an exact date is much more effective than to say about 2 months ago. Especially when they haven't met their requirements with solving issues.

XPM - Order fields in the Clients tab
In the new Clients tab, to have the ability to customise where the details are showing in the Information tab.

Client - View Contact Salutation or alternate name
View salutation or an alternate name field
As many clients are addressed by a different name other than their legal/birth name, it would be helpful to be able to view their salutation, or an alternate name, in the contact section of the client, without having to go into the contact to see this information.24 votesHi team, we appreciate wanting to be able to see this information more readily available. Practice Manager - Add new WIP to an existing invoice
In other accounting management software, you can allocate WIP to a previously posted invoice. This is a really handy feature which prevents WIP being written off if a job has already been invoiced and no further invoices will be raised.
It helps with budgeting and KPI's (preventing WIP writeoff).
There are enough times when it has been needed, e.g. after a job has been completed and invoiced, and new information comes to light requiring a re-work.24 votes -
AU Tax - Superannuation Lump Sum Tax Offset
Hi,
When completing Deceased Estate returns in Xero Tax, it seems as per the screenshot provided the newly added estimates does not calculate the Super Lump Sum Tax Offset given the complexity and nature of the Lump Sums.
Is there a way to have Xero Tax calculate the estimate with the Super Lump Sum Tax Offset taken into consideration as it has been in the past on MYOB? This way we can obtain a more accurate estimate of the tax payable for the Trustee.

Xero HQ - Connect client record when receiving subscription transfer request
Upon accepting a subscription transfer request, it would be great to have an option to "link to existing client record" or "create a new client record". There's currently no option for this and this creates double-up entries in Xero HQ which need to be manually removed, re-linked and archived.

NZ Tax - Adding Correspondence to Tax Return
It would be great and more efficient if we could add correspondence to the tax returns, rather than have to send separately via myIR.

Inland Revenue do not currently allow correspondence to be sent with a tax return via the Gateway services. This may be feedback that you could share with your IR Account Manager. Thanks

Client queries - Uploading to specific line item
Xero workpaper functionality that allows clients to submit their query responses against a specific line item, rather than the paper tab. Currently, it is difficult to determine which account the supporting document is for.

Invoices: Manually export invoice to Xero after an export fail
The 'export invoice to Xero' manual option should be available to staff that have approve invoice permissions. When we have a 'Xero export failed' message and staff correct the error, they need to be able to push this across manually to Xero blue without requesting it from an administrator.

XPM - Update client details via API
As a dedicated Xero partner, I've been leveraging the capabilities of the XPM Suite in conjunction with Seamlss to manage and streamline my operations. While the current integration offers a range of functionalities, I've observed that the existing API limitations are hindering our efficiency.
One of the most pressing concerns is the manual transfer of sensitive client data, especially Bank Details. My administrative team often finds themselves in the tedious and risky position of copying and pasting this critical information due to the API constraints. This not only consumes valuable time but also poses potential security risks.

Practice tools | Staff - Ability to set up and assign permissions to groups of staff
It would be great to be able to set up Security Groups with permissions set for each group, which is then applied to each staff member by adding the Staff to that Security Group.
This way, if a permission needs to be changed for a group of Staff, it can be done at the security group level rather than having to click into each Staff member and edit their individual permissions - which can create inconsistencies and easily miss settings when dealing with a large number of Staff.

Xero HQ - Report template - option to include a custom column similar to custom row
Add a custom column similar to a custom row into reports.
This would be used to include quantities for livestock reports, for automating % of trust distributions payable to beneficiaries prior end of June.
This currently can't be done in reports.

Practice Manager - Dropdown boxes should ALWAYS be searchable
One example.. editing Client details, there is a Title field, it is a dropdown box with heaps of options.
It should be possible to type something into the field to filter the results.

XPH - Collapsible fields when editing client information
It would be great to bring back the collapsible custom fields in XPM when editing client details. This previously made it much easier to jump between headings. With the new tabbed layout, all custom fields now appear in one long list with no distinction between headings, which means a lot more scrolling to find the fields we need to update.

Your suggestion around having a more detailed business structure breakdown makes sense, especially as broader categories like Other can cover a mix of different client situations.
