  1. Would be very beneficial to be able to run a report listing all clients who have outstanding transfers and refunds for a period (and export it). We need to be proactive and contact the IRD before they refund the client instead of actioning a transfer as requested. In APS we could pick up any mismatch early and were able to contact the IRD or the client and rectify quickly.

  2. When we are archiving a client there should be the ability to archive the contacts (if they are not linked to an active client profile). Or at least be able to Archive them from the contacts page https://hq.xero.com/clients/contacts

    Currently the only option is to edit or delete, deleting is not a great option should you need to follow revisit something in the future.

    If you don't delete them, you are then left with the contact appearing in the suggestion list when trying to connect clients to a client profile.

  3. In Tax Statements, under Transfers tab: the "auto mark as complete" needs to happen by both amount and date. So need the ability to set the effective date for the transfer to occur, therefore if IRD does something different we are alerted.

    Currently if transfer is the same $ value or more, then Xero automatically marks as complete, this should not occur. If the $ is more then the transfer has not gone as expected and we need to be alerted to this.

    While we know this isn't a perfect solution, the current workaround is to manually track these transfers and we have some help on doing this within Xero Central.

    While we understand the desire for improvements to this process, we want to be upfront that this isn't in our current roadmap.

    As you may have heard from our recent Xerocon announcements there are lots of exciting improvements coming within the Practice space over the coming months that we our teams are developing for.

    While we will move the idea to Not in pipeline, should there be any change around this we will be sure to share with you here.

  4. For notes made in Tax Payments: these need to be split into 2 areas, (1) notes pertaining to that provisional installment and, (2) notes that will continue to roll forward.

    It is crucial that even if the installment date has passed, the notes are still visible. Also from the main Tax Payments screen we need an indicator on the client row to show that the client has an active note (with the ability to archive a note as well).

  5. When preparing future year return, in my case, FY2025 tax return for one individual client, even though it shows 2025 tax year, Xero tax is actually FY2024 tax rate for calculation. So the result is not accurate. Will Xero Tax fix this issue in the future?

  7. In the old xero version, you could click on the contact and edit the salutation.

    This option is no longer available.
    The only way to update is to exit client, go back to clients, select contacts, search contact then edit details.
    A lot of extra steps just to add or update a salutation after a contact has been created

  8. When some client has more than 1 health insurance policy and the period of the same are diffrent and sometime overlapping we need the work out this manually which can sometime be wrongly caluclated and can impact the tax estimates.

    Xero should have a worksheet where we can enter policy details along with perioid of coverage to that it can calculae the days acurately. Similar feature is avaialble in MYOB AO and comes in very handy.

    Hey Mandy, thanks for asking Anchal to raise this as an Idea for review. As Anchal and the Product team have conveyed this is being looked at currently (Balance Sheet addition to Partnership filings) and there will be updates as this progresses. The client address is not something we are looking at currently as it is not mandatory for HMRC or Companies House.

  10. With the new layout the old reports - even the customisable ones do not have all these new fields that can be chosen and exported.

    Eg there are now multiple phone fields which is great but I use this data to export to my phone system but now I cant.

    Hi Matthew, appreciate you sharing how the ability to export clients' information can supports your workflows, particularly when integrating with external systems like phone or CRM tools.

    This idea has now moved to Gaining Support, which means it’s open for the community to vote and add comments. With the new layout, some of the fields available in the old reports, like multiple phone numbers — aren’t currently included in exports. Have the ability to run a report to include in the Financial Statements that is a Group Summary, so includes all selected entities within a group and details all amounts payable or refunds due for all upcoming provisional and terminal tax dates (regardless of balance date) and a Net Tax position

It would be good if any report you can already run in Xero could be added to a report template - this would include GST reports (activity statement and GST reconciliation), payroll reports etc. That way instead of having to manually extract each of these reports for each client we can just do it in bulk through one report template.

    Thanks for sharing your idea to include GST reports in report templates.

    We can see how this would be a real time-saver, especially when you’re building out report packs for clients or internal teams. There’s clearly a strong appetite for this feature, and we understand why. Being able to add GST reports directly into templates would simplify the process of creating complete, consistent report packs for any purpose.

    This idea is now in the Gaining Support stage. That means it's open for voting and comments, and we’ll continue to monitor interest from the community. Your input helps inform how we prioritise future updates to Xero. We’ll keep you posted here with any developments.

  14. I had a validation error CMN.ATO.DISTBENTRT.000013 generated in an SMSF tax return.
    When I clicked on the validation error it took me to a specific trust income schedule (number 10 of 18), which had several fields highlighted. The error says that there must be a number in any of the fields A B D U and so on - this schedule met this condition.
    After much wasted time trying to re-enter fields, checking there were no blank spaces, deleting and re-entering all fields, deleting and re-entering the whole schedule, I contacted support.
    It turns out the error was actually generated…

  15. Xero sign in document packs - you currently need to manually input the client's details to add their signature for each document pack (for docs with no auto signing feature like tax returns).

    It would be great if there was an option to simply select a client from XPM as all the details are already there (First name/Last name/Email)

  16. When exporting invoices from XPM to Xero it should by default export the client name, address, email address and contact number.

    Currently it only exports the client name and postal address, and contact name, email and phone number (but only if that contact is NOT a client in XPM and only if you select that contact when preparing the invoice - forget the contact and you are back at square one.).

    Thanks for the comprehensive and exhaustive idea around how contact and client details could be included when invoices are synched from XPM to Xero blue. As you may know there is a new platform (PartnerHub) which you may be aware of, and will be released fully in the near future. You may find that the issue is covered in the new experience.   19. Please can you make it possible to add manual transactions to the "tax statement" that will show up in the tax return.

    We often did this with MYOB, eg. adding a penalty that we know will be charged after the tax return has been filed, or changing a late filing penalty from $50 to $250 if the client's income is more than $100k (as this will be updated at IRD after the return is filed).

    At the moment it looks like we can only edit the pdf which is very disappointing...

    Thanks for adding this request to our Ideas Kathryn. We have looked at this with current NZ Tax compliance in mind and for transparency this is not something we are looking into at this time. We appreciate it is something others may see as beneficial so other users are able to vote in this.

  20. Xero Tax should have another Tab to View ALL NON Lodged.
    Right now you have to go to Draft, Completed, Approved, To Sign, To File - that's 5 tabs to see which returns and BAS are not yet lodged. All tab includes Filed. There needs to be a tab where you can view All Non Lodged excluding Filed.
