    Thanks for your engagement in this idea, everyone. Apolgies it's taken so long to update you here, and appreciate the confirmation of where you'd like to see this.

    We want to be honest that we don't have any planned work for developing print options at the organisation level atm. If there's any changes to share we'll let you know.

  2. The ability to merge columns in xero - specifically the General Ledger Summary report to merge the Account name and number.

  3. Have the option to create nominal codes and assign them to CIS returns to allow for more granular review of costs. E.g. Bricklayer expense, Plumber expense etc.

    Hi everyone, thanks for your feedback on this idea. We appreciate you sharing how important more granular CIS tracking is for your businesses. Some of you have mentioned that you currently use tracking categories to achieve the breakdown required, we understand however this may be suitable for everyone.

    After review, we're updating this idea to Not in the pipeline, meaning our product team has considered it but it's not on our foreseeable roadmap. We know this isn't the update you were hoping for, and the idea will remain open for votes so we can continue to gauge community interest.

  4. We have spent a significant amount of time creating our financial statement templates using the report codes to ensure consistency and quality. Using Edit Layout can cause significant issues, including notes not matching the numbers in the balance sheet. As a result, we require the ability to remove access to the Edit Layout function for selected users.
    This is a significant quality and risk issue.

  5. The assurance dashboard has been around for a while and it's great to have a number of checks accessible in the same place. However, there doesn't appear to have been much development in this area i.e. we are still not able to export out reports from the Assurance Dashboard.

    A client reached out today looking for an easy to run report showing bank account number changes.     Hi everyone, appreciate the feedback on my last question. I've slightly amended the title of this idea. As a bit of an update from when I last posted we have actually made an update in History & Notes as I know some of you were interested in - You can now Export to PDF or Excel from this screen and you'll find there are filter options to help you zone into the items you're most interested in looking at. 

  6. I need to search Invoice descriptions to find Invoices that have certain quote references.

    I've found a workaround for this using an Account Transaction report and filtering on description. However I can't find a way to use an OR operator.

    For example I can create a report that finds all quote references with "A0", and I can modify that to display a report that finds all quotes with a reference that contains "L0".

    However, I can't find a way to create a single report that contains all quote references with "A0" OR "L0" (or "A0" OR "A1" OR "A2")

    Thanks for the detail in your idea here, Paul. I had a bit of a test of this myself and have checked in with our reporting team. 

    It doesn't quite appear in the modal once the report's run - this is something that we'll look to improve. 

    However, it's possible to enter multiple terms which will each be searched and return results for (like OR as an operator) - All you need to do is enter a comma(,) and space between each condition. 

    For example A0, L0 or A0, A1, A2, 🙂

  7. When reviewing a VAT return documents, the ability to see the invoice without having to go in to bills to pay to find the invoice and review it was great. How about adding a next and previous button to the top of the screen when you left click on an invoice within the VAT return?

    At the moment we have to click the x in the top right corner and then left click on the next invoice to review. when review large VAT return with many transactions you can get lost and end up clicking in to an invoice you…

  8. We want to give access to reporting to one of our managers however we don't want them to be able to view all payroll information. Therefore I am looking for a function that can give access to all of Xero except anything to do with payroll so all nominal codes to do with wages would need to be invisible etc. Journals would another thing that needs to be hidden.

    This is really useful to know, thanks Josh - Though we don't have immediate plans for change around this, we really appreciate you sharing the detail of how you'd see this permissions working best for you. We'll keep an eye across this one here, and let you know if there are any updates.

  9. One of the most irritating features when using the Aged Receivables Detail report for Credit Control purposes (downloading to Excel and pasting into an email) is that when selecting the Date Range under Aging periods and the Invoice Date under Aging By, it continuously defaults back to the first option.

    Kindly allow the setting of a default to prevent the system from continuously defaulting back to the system setting.

  10. An inventory report - similar to the inventory item summary, but that allows the user to compare figures to prior periods. This will allow retailers and even manufacturers, to easily track seasonal trends in sales.

  11. Prior to the new reports we were able to select different colours for budget variances on our Xero reports. Green for on budget or better than budget and red for below budget.

    This was immensely useful when going through reports in monthly management meetings as it meant over or under performance in any line was easily recognisable.

    Please can you bring this simple feature back!

  13. I would be good to be able to carry out data analysis of each nominal code and therefore group the account transactions by month with totals rather than by week which will ultimately tie back to the P&L. This would make it useful when carrying out data analysis from the P&L.

  14. Can we please extend the budget manager period from 12 months to more than 3 years or whatever is possible? The data in the budget manager does not go beyond 12 months and if the budget is to be changed after a year of upload it doesn't have such access.
    When working for a movie/film-making company the budget runs for more than 12 months and it needs to be changed time and again. But Xero doesn't have such an option which makes it impossible to get an accurate variance.
    It would be great help.

  15. The change if made in prior quarter should be made either available in amended Activity statement report or should carry forward till that particular financial year. Unfiled amount shouldn't be carried forward for infinite period of time.

  16. It should be possible to search Fixed Assets by serial number using the existing search box.

    Otherwise the Fixed Assets registration feature is not that useful, because if you have i.e. 50 of the same asset you have to manually open all 50 assets to find out which one actually matches the SN of the asset you are disposing.

    If you can't search based on the serial number, what is even the point of entering it?

    Hi everyone, thanks for your feedback and detail of why searching b y serial # would be of use. We understand how this'd be beneficial when you have multiple of the same asset being registered.

    At this time, as with a few parts of Xero our product team in the Fixed Assets space are focused on updating some core Fixed Assets technology to provide future capability and a consistent look and feel to what you've begun seeing in other parts of Xero like reports, and invoicing.

    We'll keep watching the support for ideas closely and share any updates with you all.

  17. When calculating Leasehold Improvements as a Fixed Asset, the term is often not whole months even when using days it still does not calculate correctly for example we need to use 2.67 years to reconcile to our workbook.

    Hi team, to export a list of all Tracking categories in your org, you may find the Tracking Summary report of use to you here. Alternatively, you could run the Account Transactions report and Summarise by the Tracking category. 

    The one caveat here for both reports is that they'll only show a list of the tracking options that have been used within the date range the report is run. 

  20. Xero Project feature idea

    • drill down transaction from Xero Project reporting
    • Report template Xero Project layout can not be saved to custom report template
    • assign project to Payroll
    • Inactive jobs, still showing in the list although its in the different section, in my opinion the inactive project should not show up at all, should make the same like employee list where there is a dongle to show inactive Projects.
