  1. I have voted for the idea "Switch Rules - Notes to Financial Accounts" but would like to also propose an idea that may be of benefit if that one is too complex to implement.

    Enable a rule that allows an account to be shown/hidden depending on the balance.

    For example - if Accounts Receivable is a credit balance then it will display, if it has a negative balance it is hidden.
    That means that the Accounts Receivable account could be added to two schedules in the report, but will only show in one, which should align with switch rules in…

    Appreciate you thinking of other ways to solve something, Jessica. With a lot of the reporting teams concentration on elements to redevelop the most vying features from older reports in the new before their removal later this year I want to be open that we don't have this in pour plans at this stage. 

    We'll start to get a sense of the interest for this here, and let you know if there are any changes. 

  2. can you please increase the capacity for downloading general ledgers because at the moment it seems very limited. Often we have to send large files and the capacity at the moment is insufficient

  3. The new Account Summary Report needs the Account Code in the drop down list. Currently it only has the names of the accounts. There is no option to show or hide the Account Code. Sometimes I work with the account codes and not names. I need the ability to type the code in as well.

  4. atm if a client asks what is included in a figure in the accounts, I can only manually deduce that, or generate a spreadsheet analysing all the Trial Balance into the headings (the tagging screen is quick reference for generating this) but surely it should be possible to run a report.

    Hi Malcolm, returning to your idea here it would be good to get more understanding if there are specific figures or reports your customers are asking about or you'd want to track the make up of?

    Atm it's possible to edit the layout of the Profit & Loss of Balance sheet reports to either show a total of grouped accounts or have these all listed amounts that show the individual accounts within each section.

  6. We regularly use Tracking Categories to allocate bills to Projects. The Account Transactions report is great for showing bills and payments by Project. However, each line has to be individually accessed to see the underlying uploaded document.

    Accountants regularly ask for these receipts which need to be individually downloaded and we have to manually create a spreadsheet linking each receipt.

    This would be hugely easier if the Excel export of the report allowed a field for a URL linking to the uploaded document, like all good receipt tracking apps allow.

  7. When items get posted into fixed asset module from bills, why isn't the asset type automatically fed from the account it was posted to? This just creates unnecessary work having to assign them manually!

  9. Were clients have figures in the New Xero Cashflow report of $1,000,000 and $10,000,000. The cashflow can only handles this by reducing the months on the report. An Idea to get arround this would be to do what larger company's do in a prospectus. State in a subtitled that all figures are in millions and omit the last 3 zeros.

  10. When I prepare Financial Statements, I copy and edit a published set of Financial Statements from the previous year. But it is annoying that in the now draft Financial Statements, the date in the Compilation Report does not refresh to current date. So I either manually edit the date or add a Comp Report from My Xero. Either way is a pain. Any better ideas?

  11. Allow any field from the company or contact field to be added to report columns. e.g. Company account ID so once a report is downloaded we can use Vlookup and consolidate data from several different reports, Company City, or State so we can evaluate sales based on geography. The currently available columns in the Reporting are very restrictive and do not allow a business to make smart decisions as data is scattered or not available easily.

    Hi Lynx, appreciate raising your idea in community. While we don't intend to make every field of a contacts record visible in every report appreciate your detail around the Location and Contact Account Number that you'd like to be able to view. Are there any specific reports you'd find this most useful in?

    Hi Paul, can you share a bit of detail of why you'd find it useful to filter only particular sections of the report, and perhaps an example of the way you see yourself being able to use this sort of function in the report? 

    We don't have any plans at this stage for multi-tiered filtering but it'd be good to better understand your needs behind it? 

  13. The new custom report pack looks great but it would be good to be able to export the VAT return within the same pack. Can the VAT reports be added to this functionality? I think it would be helpful for many people.

    I regularly look at a profit and loss, balance sheet, aged receivables detail, aged payables detail and the VAT return reports monthly for all clients and it would be great to export these together, and would save a lot of time.

At the moment on the old P&L and Balance Sheet reports if you change the company on another tab and have the P&L and B/S open in another tab if you press F5 on your keyboard it will update to the new company you have changed to. This feature is not available on the new P&L & B/S which will be the only source from July. I really need this F5 function on the new reports as I have 20 ledgers to run and if I have to keep re-running the P&L & B/S at month end it will significantly…

  15. GST - where an entity trades in different tax jurisdictions, allow the file to create the ability to manage GST for different countries (different GST codes) in separate GST accounts and not all consolidated into one GST account.
    eg if an entity trades in Australia and New Zealand, you can have an Australian GST account and a NZ GST account to make reconciliation and completion of BAS easier.

  16. one of the ATO requirement is to submit the Expense from other companies with ABN into it. if you can implement by adding ABN to the report, it will be really helpful for us.

  19. Every now and again we have an issue in a client account with someone's User Role being altered without notification.
    I can't figure out if the client is in there making changes without really knowing what they are doing, or if Xero is having a weird glitch.
    (the latter seems unlikely)
    It would be nice if we could pin point who was doing it so we could explain the hassle they are creating!

  20. Could the VAT transactions report in the VAT return include the invoice number as well as or instead of the reference?

    This would make the review to see if there are any missing invoice numbers much simpler. Our invoices are created in another software package by a number of people who sometimes include text as well as the invoice number and it makes sorting by numerical order time consuming. Having the invoice number as a field would make it very easy to sort in numerical order and identify missing numbers.
