  1. Showing profit of Loss on Trial Balance (at both Client XERO Blue and advisor) Reports

At present the trial balance report does not show profit or loss, can or will XERO recode the report in client reports(XERO Blue) and in the advisor templates. This is something I believe all accountants and bookkeepers will welcome the change, as the would improve workflow.
Please refer to trial balance from competitors software (has printed that way for over 30 years)

  2. Modify the Budget Manager so that it accepts 2 decimal places and does not round to the nearest full dollar.

Rounding all figures means that the Net Profit amount is incorrect which means the budgets are incorrect.

  4. It would be really useful to have a report the same as the "Billable Expense Report - Outstanding" that shows the same info but for paid invoices, preferably with the ability to filter by invoice number or bill number

Thank you for sharing your feedback and voting on the idea here, community. While we've reviewed this idea and appreciate the needs in what you're wanting here, we want to be open that we don't have any plans for developing a billable expenses report of this nature in the near term.

We will continue to track the interest here, and share if anything changes.

  5. A report to run to identify suppliers and customers that have not used in the last 12 months, so we can archive some contacts.

Not a capture all but maybe a step in the right direction for now that could help, Maureen - Smart Lists could help you get a view of the customers that you've not sold items to recently.

You could run a New Smart List to view Any customers who have Not Purchased Any items In the last year - Find out more on Smart lists here

  6. There is no functionality in Xero to 'Hide account codes on all pages' as we have "Hide decimals on all pages'.

Can we have this functionality - at present we need to check each page before publishing to ensure that there are no account codes showing.

  7. Currently, I can export manual journals from a Xero organization for record saving. However, I cannot use the exported manual journals in Excel format to be imported to another organization directly. Because the exported manual journals show the GST amount in a separate line (GST account). Can you please add a new function to export manual journals for Xero importation? It means I can directly import the exported manual journals from one organization to another without editing.

  8. Broken down to location/ postal code with the total cost for a contact/supplier in any period is needed.
I am aware 'the expenses by contact' gives you the total spend in a year but this doesn't filter down to location/ addresses or post code. At year end a key part of our process is reporting local suppliers for our social impact and purpose, we have to complete a time consuming exercise entering addresses/location manually line by line for key suppliers in excel. This information is reported to our Board of Directors, to our Group Board and as part of our…

  9. Very simply, short term cashflow does not include a range of items the biggest and most important of which is payroll. I think if you are selling this feature you should be very wary of the need for a disclaimer if the feature fails to be accurate, and decisions could be made on false information if for example the biggest expense item being wages is not included.

Granted it should be something people take great care when making financial decisions and should note the issue, many don't have great financial literacy which is part of why xero was created in…

Thanks for your feedback here, everyone. To confirm, if you're using Xero Analytics Plus the dashboard can predict payroll expenses if they’re reconciled as spend money transactions or bills, and are regular in amount and frequency. To manually include payroll expenses, add them as upcoming money out transactions.

We don't have any planned changes for how these type of transactions are represented in Short term cashflows in the near term. If there are any updates made we'll share this with you here.

  10. Please can you add the ability to stop archived tracking codes appearing on P&L reports just because they had a foreign currency item at some point.
    - Archived tracking codes, with no data in current FY or reporting period appear because years and years ago it had foreign currency trans.
    - The currency L or G are not relevant to the current reporting period. The FY is closed, in some cases years and years ago - there is no need for it to keep appearing.

    Please stop this happening.

With the new 200 tracking code reports now released this problem…

  11. Ability to link quote and invoice (not billing from the actual quote)
We currently keeping time in Avaza and pulling time through on our invoices in Avaza into Xero. The actual time(our cost) is then shown in the Xero invoice which is changed to the invoice amount. I am trying to get to the ultimate spreadsheet - Quote (budget column) vs Actual cost (time) vs Invoiced amounts (this all has to be shown as the separate line items quoted)

    In summary:
A report that replicates an excel sheet that we have set up manually at the moment:

    Column 1

    Client…

  12. Currently, apart from rolling back depreciation prior to the first asset being allocated to an Asset Type, it isn't possible to update the accounts code without a lot of hassle.

For example, a general depreciation code may have been assigned to an Asset Type. If you would like to update this to a specific code, e.g. "Depreciation - Plant & Equipment", it is a difficult process with the potential for unintended changes to prior years.

As a result, a common workaround is having to do a journal to reallocate the depreciation amount for each period. However, if you could simply…

  13. I was requesting for "Account Type" and "Source" as options that can be added to "Journal" report.
Staff replied these options are available in "General Ledger Details" report and "Journal ID" is also available in "General Ledger Details" report now.
However, the "General Ledger Details" report does not have accounting entries posting date and who was it posted by.
Please add (1) "Account Type" and "Source" to "Journal" report, or (2) "Posted Date" and "Posted By" to "General Ledger Details" report.

Aaah thanks for the clarification, Vicky and Alex. You could use the Management report to add the Top Customers report. Appreciate that the chart itself displays for Gross figures right now. We'll continue gathering interest for this here.

In regards to the sort order of the report - By default contacts will be sorted by the Gross column, however you can add a Net column and re-sort by clicking on any column header. 🙂

  15. When I run a supplier bill activity report it would be HELPFUL if the description column actually contained the description of the invoices, or at least the start of it. For example, say a supplier is for office rent then I put in the description what period or month the rent is for. Then, if I run a supplier activity report I would expect the ******** description column to show me the helpful description I entered. Instead I get INV Ref: xxxxxx which repeats the xxxxxx from the reference column next to it. Noe useful at all, and the info…

Thanks for the ongoing support in this idea, team. I want to be upfront that we don't currently have any plans for adding Discuss to reports however we'd like to keep tracking the support of this with community here, and will share if there are any changes to update you of.

  18. Previously in the old format Aged Payable Summary and Detail reports you could run the report at the end of the month and change the Ageing by option to be by Due date and the report would then exclude any invoices with a due date later than the month end it was being run by. However when doing the same in the new format report this does not work and the Current column shows invoices for the month as being due even if they have a due date of later than the month end date being selected i.e. the report…

  20. Currently, the accounts you choose for fixed asset additions and accumulated depreciation are also used for disposal and depreciation on disposal. It would be helpful to be able to choose different accounts for the disposal transactions from those used for additions.

For example, fixed asset additions would go to an 'additions' account, depreciation in the year goes to a 'depreciation charge' account. Disposals go to 'cost of disposals' and 'depreciation on disposals accounts'. This keeps everything separate and mirrors the corresponding figures required for Ltd Company statutory accounts in the UK.

Being able to choose different accounts makes it easier…
