  1. Hi,
    Something that would be very helpful as an accountant, is the ability to run a report for a given date which shows all the transactions where the VAT was claimed/paid on a later return. I know that the VAT reconciliation report doesn't work with MTD.

    Hi everyone, we appreciate why you’d like a report that provides visibility of VAT late claims to streamline your reconciliation processes, especially around year-end and for monthly VAT returns.

    Currently, it's possible to use the Account Transactions report to manually reconcile against filed VAT returns, although we get the desire for a more automated solution.

    This isn’t on the team’s roadmap at present, however this is something we'll continue to consider how we accommodate these needs in future planning for tax reports in Xero. I'll be sure to let you know if there is any movement to share, here.

  2. I've noticed when an account gets a negative balance (such as an asset) that the balance sheet moves it to liabilities. I also noticed that, although I put "Other Income" at the end of the account list (with a account number of 7000) it still shows up in the income section. Proper accounting reports show "Other Income" and "Other Expense" at the bottom of the balance sheet. Additionally, if an asset account gets a negative balance for some reason it should NOT be moved to liabilities. Please fix this.

  3. If you create a report in the custom tab rather than the adviser tab in error, it would be good to be able to either lock it so it has as restricted access to that custom report almost as though it's password protected (ie only the creator can see for example) or have the facility for it to be moved to the adviser tab to allow it to have restricted access to advisers only.

The attached post indicates that Xero has delivered the ability to hide archived files by unticking the "Show Archived" box in the account transactions report and then saving it as a custom report. I have tried this, but it doesn't work. Every time I go into my custom report which should have the Show Archived box unticked it is always ticked and the archived accounts are showing. Could you please look at this again.

    Hi Sally, appreciate the image back to the earlier update you're referring to here. Is it possible that the custom report you're using was saved prior to the update and needs updating with any new setting changes and then saving again to hold these for future use? 

    If you're still finding the same behaviour, I'd highly recommend raising a case with our team of specialists at Support so they can dive into why settings you've saved in a custom report aren't being applied. Thanks 

  6. Been trailing the new reports format and when setting up a custom group account layout for a Profit and Loss report we can't use this layout across Common Formats of Profit and Loss. This feature was available in the old reports that once a custom layout was created it worked on all formats. Been advised that would need to create a separate custom report for every Common Format

  11. It would be nice to have the ability to add/remove the arrows from Variance Reports. Some clients don't like them and only want to see the dollar value.

  12. We have imported the Fixed Asset with wrong depreciation rate into XERO FAR side.
    Due to this we are depreciating some of our assets with wrong depreciation charges for last 3 financial years.
    Does anyone know in that platform how can we correct that for previous period?
    This include financial year from 2020 - 2023. All ideas and suggestions are appreciated.

    Gotcha, thanks for rounding back, Kieran. Get where you're coming from especially if you often update or add accounts. 

    We don't have any immediate plans around this but we'll keep an eye out and let you know if there's any plans to change, here. 

  14. When customising profit and loss reports would like to be able to choose the formula to use depending on whether the account is an expense or income. (eg. negative or positive variances)

  15. Xero Reporting - Please add functionality to Right Align text in custom tables in notes.

    Also, Lots of white space on Depreciaiton schedules making text very small. Add functionality to drag column lines much like excel.

  16. A button you can click to reverse the order of the columns in Reporting
    Typically the reports show the month in question closest to the account descriptions and then the prior months in columns to the right but we'd like to look at our current year starting with the earliest month in the column next to the account descriptions and the remainder of the year in columns to the right. This is particularly useful when building out projected cashflows.

    You can re-order the columns of your report with the layout editor, Robbie. 🙂

    Once you've got the report set up as you like you can Save as Custom to easily access the report with this layout. 

    If you're like to make this the default layout there is also an option for this - see our help here & here

  17. Please add ability to filter inventory reports by tracking codes, so you can see quality purchased and sold by tracking code.
