Multicurrency - Stop showing archived Tracking data in reports
Please can you add the ability to stop archived tracking codes appearing on P&L reports just because they had a foreign currency item at some point.
- Archived tracking codes, with no data in current FY or reporting period appear because years and years ago it had foreign currency trans.
- The currency L or G are not relevant to the current reporting period. The FY is closed, in some cases years and years ago - there is no need for it to keep appearing. Please stop this happening.
With the new 200 tracking code reports now released this problem…

Fixed Assets - Enable account codes to be edited / updated
Currently, apart from rolling back depreciation prior to the first asset being allocated to an Asset Type, it isn't possible to update the accounts code without a lot of hassle.
For example, a general depreciation code may have been assigned to an Asset Type. If you would like to update this to a specific code, e.g. "Depreciation - Plant & Equipment", it is a difficult process with the potential for unintended changes to prior years.
As a result, a common workaround is having to do a journal to reallocate the depreciation amount for each period. However, if you could simply…

Reports - Voided and Deleted Invoices deselected by default
I deleted and voided invoices for a reason. I don't want to see them again, yet they show up by default on a number of reports. This is in addition to making the invoice number unusable when invoices are voided. None of this makes sense to me and I shouldn't need to make a custom version of every report that seems to included voided/deleted data by default.

Fixed Assets - Ability to select account/s for disposal
Currently, the accounts you choose for fixed asset additions and accumulated depreciation are also used for disposal and depreciation on disposal. It would be helpful to be able to choose different accounts for the disposal transactions from those used for additions.
For example, fixed asset additions would go to an 'additions' account, depreciation in the year goes to a 'depreciation charge' account. Disposals go to 'cost of disposals' and 'depreciation on disposals accounts'. This keeps everything separate and mirrors the corresponding figures required for Ltd Company statutory accounts in the UK.
Being able to choose different accounts makes it easier…

Purchase Orders Report - Show Expected arrival date
It would be extremely useful to be able to either
1. export the main data from all purchase orders / or
2. be able to make up a custom reportIe: Supplier, date / reference / ETA / Salesperson / dollar / Revenue identity etc.
Used For: Sales team, Customer order ETA's etc5 votesHi Melissa, when you mention ETA - Is there a field in the Purchase order that you're currently using to track this?
There is a common format within the Payable Invoice detail report that might serve your needs here and can be set u and saved as custom with the columns you'd prefer, and can be exported to PDF, Excel or Google sheets.

Reporting - Reconciliating Profit & Loss and Statement of Cash Flows
The existing 'Statement of Cash Flows' could be enhanced to be the bridge between the P&L and the balance sheet.
1. Term debt and cash are netted to give the movement in cash equivalents. If the statement differentiated between 'term' funding (in our case, reduction of term debt) and the 'cash at bank' balance it would better describe cash flows.Make repayment of loans a 'financing' activity. Currently it is wrapped in 'cash equivalent'.
The flows in Operating Activities would be more meaningful if it highlighted where to see changes. For example, working capital changes in the period under review…

Published report | Copy & edit - Date not refreshing in Compilation Report
When I prepare Financial Statements, I copy and edit a published set of Financial Statements from the previous year. But it is annoying that in the now draft Financial Statements, the date in the Compilation Report does not refresh to current date. So I either manually edit the date or add a Comp Report from My Xero. Either way is a pain. Any better ideas?

Financial Statements | Schedule in Notes - Ability to change column headers
I would like to put fixed asset categories (plant and machinery, motor vehicles etc) as the columns, and have Cost, Depreciation, NBV - bfwds and cfwds etc in the rows underneath. See attached.
As far as I was aware it was standard to have the fixed asset note in this format so was surprised this was not already a functionality,

Account transaction report - Add YTD balance column
It would be so helpful to have a YTD column in the account transactions report. I run this report monthly for certain sales accounts to give to our marketing department and need the monthly amount and also the year to date amount however this report only allows me to show the period selected. This means I have to run 2 reports, one showing the monthly account transaction total and then one showing the year to date account transaction totals which I then combine in excel. Would also be good if there was a comparison to budget column.

Fixed Assets | Depreciation - Ability to round to the nearest dollar
Have a choice of rounding depreciation calculations up to the nearest dollar and reporting $ only in the depreciation schedule and other fixed asset reports.
Currently it rounds to the nearest cent.. This does not suit our requirements and so have to prepare our own depreciation schedules outside of Xero5 votes -
Management report pack - locking in start dates
We run a P&L Forecast report each month, with 12 monthly columns across the financial year.
Start date = start of the financial year.
Reporting on Month 1, this report shows Actuals for month 1 + Budgets for months 2 to 12, to give forecast total for year.
Reporting on Month 2, this report shows Actuals for months 1 to 2 + Budgets for months 3 to 12, to give forecast total for year.
Reporting on Month 11, this report should show Actuals for months 1 to 11 + Budget for month 12, to give forecast total for year.I…

AU Payroll - Payroll Variance Report
AU – Month-to-Month Payroll Transaction Variance Report
The current Payroll Activity Summary and Payroll Activity Details reports don’t allow for an easy comparison between two months (e.g., current vs previous). Because of the way the data is structured, it’s quite difficult to compare pay components without doing significant manual adjustments and re-ordering.
A built-in Payroll Variance Report that shows month-to-month differences for each pay component would be extremely beneficial for payroll people.
4 votesThanks for submitting this idea. We've reviewed your request and classified it as Gaining Support, meaning it is now open for other community members to vote on.
We appreciate that while you can currently download reports for individual pay runs, comparing two distinct periods to spot discrepancies requires significant manual review or manipulation outside of Xero.
A dedicated variance report would certainly be a valuable time-saver.

Fixed Assets - Tracking Category column
On the Fixed Asset Register can there be a column for showing Tracking Catergories?
We deal with clients in the Hospitality Industry and a portion of them operate multiple sites.
It would be handy to have an option in the Fixed Asset Register so we can quickly identify which assets belong to Pub A, Pub B, Pub C etc.
The inclusion of a filter to only show the Fixed Assets of a particular site would also be a huge benefit.
We know that the Register can be exported to Excel which will show the Tracking Catergories but something within Xero…

Reports - Shortcuts for navigating Financial Statement Reports
Shortcuts for Financial Statement Reports
It would be extremely helpful to have shortcuts to navigate financial statements.
E.g. 1 would go to the first page of the report, 2 would go to profit and loss, 3 to balance sheet etc. this would assist with quickly switching between different reports in the financial statements.4 votesHi Emile, appreciate you sharing this suggestion for specific shortcuts that would improve efficiency when working in reports. This idea is open for fellow community members to support through voting and comments.
We also have an existing idea for more shortcuts in Xero - we'd encourage you to also add your vote to that broader idea here: Navigation - More keyboard shortcuts in Xero.
Voting on both helps us in two ways: it shows our Reporting team the specific need you have, and it also contributes to the overall demand for more keyboard efficiency across all of Xero.
Thanks again for your valuable contribution to the community!

Reports - Quotes track invoicing
Have a Report that shows all Quotes that have been accepted, but not invoiced. That shows any part invoices that have been raised. We frequently invoice a % upfront, % mid project and then % at the end.

Delete discontinued tracking categories from reports
It would assist to have discontinued tracking categories no longer showing on drop down menus for reports. We have several categories that are no longer in use but still show up on reporting options.
4 votesThanks for your idea and sharing in the forums here, Rachel.
Consideration would need to be given to how this behaves before and after a report date or date range is set, incase running for an older period that would include transaction lines that were categorised to an archived tracking option.
Being upfront, this isn't something we have any plans around for the time being, but we'll source interest from the community in this here, and share if there are any updates.

Fixed Assets | Registering draft assets - Navigate back to Draft list
This is minor but annoying. I am working my way through a list of draft assets and when you register each asset Xero reverts to the registered list rather than returning to the draft list. This gets very tedious when you have a lot of draft assets!
Conversely when you are disposing of assets it reverts to the disposed assets list when it would be more efficient to revert to the registered assets list so I can dispose of the next asset.
4 votesAppreciate the feedback on the little things that would improve your experience when working with Fixed Assets. I've shared this back with our product team. We don't have any immediate plans but we'll track the interest and share if there's any change planned.

Reports - More detailed bank transaction report.
Add a more detailed bank transaction report.
It would be nice to generate a bank report that allows you to see the accounts booked in details. For example, if one transaction has multiple accounts, I can see what accounts where used and what amount. this would make it a lot easier to look over and control if you made some mistakes or did not included bank fees in the transaction.4 votesHi Ester, have you tried he Account transactions report? There's a 'related account' column that may suit your needs and will show the GL account that the transactions is coded to.

Reporting - Consistent terminology (e.g. Accounts Payable reports refer to Bills as Invoices)
There's an inconsistency between different parts Xero systems. For example:
New Invoicing has Autosave.
New Contacts require us to use the Save button.Reports:
Accounts receivable reports refer to Invoices.
Accounts Payable reports ALSO refer to Invoices ... Xero terminology for Payables is Bills. Is there a reason for these differences and lack of consistency across the Xero platforms?
