  1. It is not possible for CIS returns to be marked as filed when submitted outside of Xero, resulting in historic returns showing as overdue.
    It would be helpful to mark CIS returns as filed when submitted outside of Xero, as is currently possible with VAT returns.

  2. We would like to see the credit limits included in the Aged Receivables Details, as well as in the Summary. This way, when we are working with detailed reports, it will be easy to see if a customer has exceeded their limit without having to run a separate report.
    The amount could be placed as an extra column on the total amount of each client in the report.

  3. Ability to create custom formulas in reporting, specifically to be able to (+) some accounts and (-) others. Support referred to this as custom complex formulas, but it is a simple formula. We just need to be able to customize them.

  4. Most often when I extract XERO finance reports I have to strip out all of the headings and totals in order to get to the raw transaction data for further pivot analysis and data refinement. Having a raw data dump (i.e., excel or csv format) as an option to the formatted files would save considerable time for users doing pivot analysis, multi period or year comparisons, adding calculations and additional columns, preparing charts, and just trying to summarize the data in a different way.

  5. It is not currently possible to use Report Fields in a group heading in reports.

    We spend time setting up shareholder and director names in Report Fields but they can only be used in text blocks, not group headings in reports. If we could use Report Fields in group headings we could make report templates, such as the schedule of shareholder current accounts, more dynamic and automatic. See the screenshot attached for an example.

  8. Can we get the report pack to automatically update both the footer and compilation report, based on the page range for the statement of accounting policies and notes to the financial statements. We're currently doing this manually and it leaves room for error.

  9. I am looking for a way to view a value for the supplier or customer transaction as a total value not as individual lines in the vat201 report. For example. I have 3 line transactions in 1 customer invoice, so it shows these three separately. I dont want to view it like that, I want to view it as a complete value, so we can double check the whole invoice as opposed to going to the invoice and looking line through line, which is extremely time consuming

  10. Being able to group the account transaction report by contact is brilliant but unfortunately the report has default columns for Debit, Credit, Gross and VAT and not running balance or net.

    If the client is VAT registered the total showed by contact is VAT inclusive so please can the report also have the Net column turned on by default.

  11. Being able to click on the summary page to show what is entered in that field would be good or a drop down box on the BAS summary page. Having to scroll through sales to get to the expenses is time consuming.

I attended the 2023 Q2 QPU and I like that for placeholders you can add a number in the square brackets to modify the month placeholder (this was in repeating journals - is it the same in other repeating features, like Invoices/Bills?). I also wonder if you can modify the year placeholder in the same way.

    But I'd like also to be able to post repeating journals with a placeholder that uses a number-format for month (eg, 04 instead of April). Alternatively or additionally, it would be nice to be able to abbreviate the month to just the first 3…

Bank reconciliation - A report that will show each bank transaction and then which invoice it has been reconciled against, as a way of having a quick way to check something has been reconciled incorrectly. Currently, the only way is to view each transaction through the account transaction report.

    Good to hear you're aware of how you can run the Account Transactions report to view this information, Catherine - Is there a reason or something missing from this report that would help you when reviewing transactions? 

  14. In reports - Be able to make formulas from individual rows / accounts not just "columns, group totals or formula rows". I have attached an example of the work around required to get Gross Profits for hospitality split into Wet (Booze) and Dry (Food). It adds 8 lines and makes the report unwieldy. I would love to to more interesting formula. And not have to export to Excel or other programs.

  15. A note of outstanding, unreconciled statement lines before completing a VAT return.

    Currently you click review and can see the VAT return; however, it would be useful to have a box that would flag if there any unreconciled transactions within the VAT period.

    This would help to ensure no transactions are missed when completing a VAT return.

  17. The variance columns in the current P&L reports don't make sense - increased costs show as positive variances, despite the red arrow. The formula is fine for revenue and profit, but needs to be the other way round for costs. Is it possible to have this, or to add a column with different formulae for different sections?

    Hi team, to confirm how the Budget Variance report works currently it'll show;

    • Green arrows for favourable amounts
    • Red arrows for unfavourable amounts
    • Increases in the amount from budget will have an upward arrow
    • Decreases in amounts from budget will have a downward arrow

    We appreciate your feedback here however being open, there are no plans to change the way this logic is applied in the report, or to extend the arrow colouring across the figures/amounts in the report. 

  18. Now that we can add equations, I'd like to see Xero add non-financial data for use in calculations. Specifically, I'd like to add a number that changes each month (number of clients). This will allow me to calculate the revenue per client. I would also like to add the number of clients lost and clients gained so I can calculate the churn rate and customer lifetime value (important to use in making decisions on marketing spend).

  19. I would like to send departmental P&L/spend reports to my managers. For eg, send all marketing spend to that team showing the act v bud figures AND all the transactions making up the actual fig
    I reckon it would be best to add the Act and Bud figs at the top of the account transactions report for a particular chart of accounts

  20. Would be fantastic if when a fixed asset purchase is recorded and a document is included with the transaction, this document is also recorded in the draft fixed asset window. This would help as reference when moving the asset from draft to registered.
