Reporting - Automatic generation and emailing of reports
Automatically send email reports every month.
Purpose: Users can set up recurring reports to the dedicated person consistently at the same date.
Hi community, thanks so much for all the interest we received. The teams interview spots filled up quickly and they are now fully booked.
Apologies if you didn't manage to sign up to one of the interviews — We really appreciate your enthusiasm and may reopen the link for future research rounds. We will make sure to update here if there's more opportunity.
We will be back to share outcomes from the teams exploration.

A basic requirement - surprised that Xero are so far behind other systems.

@Philip Colfox and fellow .pdf users. It doesn't seem to have a separate pricing structure. From what I can see you need to have the Xero "growing" subcription or higher to be able to access the export functionality.
I had a quick look into the Syft platform and it didn't seem to have reporting across all business aspects (I particularly want invoice lists) and there was no report/heading for that. But it was only a 2 minute scan so heres hoping.
Invoicing starts monday I'll report back if someone else hasn't already done a deeper dive.

To Mariel Diaz - how do we take advantage of this functionality - do we have to subscribe to Syft or is the functionality already in Xero now ?

The good news update for 2025: Xero acquired Syft, and you can send out automated, customized, scheduled reports from there that use all of your data in Xero! Boom!

@Kelly Munro,
Thank you for your response. Duly noted. The only questions to ask are…
Why have a forum if you don’t take note and action requests?
Do you feel you want to help your customers be more productive whilst saving them money?
If these are yes, then get it sorted!

this would be a great feature, to send automatic reports each month.

Scheduling of reports is standard within most accounting systems, I fail to see how this is not implemented as a standard option nevermind it not being on your development roadmap. I have used systems going back 25 years that have ALL had report scheduling as an option.

This is a basic request that would save many man hours of work.
I do not understand why this idea has not been acted on. -

Dear Kelly, I am glad you have upgraded this from "no plans" to "valuable in the long run [ though ] not... with a specific timeframe". I would be willing to pay extra for better reporting including this automatic emailing of reports on set dates. Best wishes Philip Colfox

I use both Xero and QBO. With QBO, any reports available can be scheduled and emailed, with multipole options available. Just saying...

This one is important, especially for smaller businesses. Automatically sending out cashflow and other KPIs to stakeholders would be really useful.

This is a basic feature and it is ridiculous to think Xero would implement it in the "long term". I am writing in as you said "We're still keen to hear from those of you who would find this feature helpful, so please keep the conversation and votes coming."
I would find it useful. As would most people working on a team or for a company.

Not only is this feature critical, it is a mockery to have a feedback system that is blatantly ignored.
If you are following this thread or agree with it- do post your views (again) and see if we can get the traction we need to get this basic feature enacted

Surprising and disappointing—this should be a basic feature by now

What is on the roadmap if it's not features that users need? Like many others, I'm paying for a third-party app to cover this gaping hole in Xero's functionality (one of several basic features that are missing). You say you want to hear from people who'd find this useful, but surely it's only one-man bands who wouldn't? My use case is that I need to send weekly reports to multiple budget holders, so that they can see how actuals are tracking against budget. I have several other reports to send to other stakeholders too.

The community has been asking for this for years, I don't think a generic "request denied" response like this is good enough anymore. It's not just about the number of votes; it's about the repeated, consistent demand from your paying users for a feature that exists in most comparable platforms.
Automatic report generation and emailing is a basic workflow automation that would save your users hours of repetitive admin. The fact that it's still missing, and that the conversation hasn't progressed meaningfully in years, suggests either a strategic decision to deprioritise it or, worse, a commercial reason to push users toward third-party apps.
If it's a technical limitation, tell us. If it's a business decision, be honest about it. But please don’t keep asking for feedback unless you're genuinely using it to shape your roadmap. Transparency and real engagement with your users would go a long way here.

My bank, my firewall and just about everything emails me reports regularly. Why, xero, can you not just take feedback and implement a simple useful feature which is easily available every where!

Again, not giving us the features we need but adding the features you think justify increasing the price every year.
