  1. It's a huge problem for me that when billing fails for an entity, no notification is sent to the billing contact, only the subscriber (me) gets notified. If I'm on holiday, and something goes wrong with billing, people get locked out of the platform.

There should at least be an option for the billing contact to receive these messages, if not the default setting. I can't think of any reason I wouldn't want my billing contact to know that the payment to Xero has failed. My book-keeper doesn't know something has gone wrong until she is locked out of Xero.

Hi Alan, thanks for sharing this idea. This would be useful for situations when a payment fails, allowing a nominated user to be notified as well so action can be taken quickly and avoid being locked out.

A simple workaround for now is setting up an email forwarding rule from noreply@post.xero.com

    or subscription.notifications@post.xero.com

to your bookkeeper or Billing Contact. It’s not a permanent fix, but it can help make sure the right person sees the alert sooner.

I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can see how many in the community would value more flexibility in who receives these notifications. If this would help your team, please add your vote or share your experience—it really helps us understand the impact.

  2. Could it be possible to create a video to explain about the particular features of the Xero function in their respective page? I am trying to better understand visually on how to navigate and use a particular feature within Xero.

If not at the very least, link me back to the lesson where I can get on the feature in the Xero Advisor course? It would be helpful for me to revisit the topic.

Hi Marc, thanks for your engagement and for this excellent suggestion on improving our Xero Central resources.

We've reviewed your idea about making our support content more visual by adding demonstration videos or linking back to specific lessons from our help articles. We agree that for many people, seeing a feature in action is incredibly helpful.

Your suggestion is now open to gain support from other community members. Along with votes, others can now comment to share how more visual content like videos could improve their learning experience and help them better understand Xero's features.

  3. The subscriber has left the business. I have access but cannot invite support to the ticket. I need to change the subscriber to me. I am the new Director. Please contact me

    Hi Paul

It looks like you contacted our support team on this one, from which a case was raised and assisted on by our specialists.

As a result, I've changed the idea status to 'Not in pipeline', as it doesn't look like it's an idea that you have suggested.

However, feel free to submit your ideas or feedback on our product ideas page!

    Kind regards,

    Ridhwaan

  4. In the different Sales and Purchases entry and edit areas in Xero the save or update buttons are in different places, one has it at the top of the screen and the other at the bottom. This is really annoying and would be way more efficient if they were both the same. Clearly two different people set them up or the same person was on a different mood when they created the two. I get this, I'm inconsistent all the time, its just super annoying in a major software package!

Thanks for sharing this idea. We can understand how having the Save and Update buttons in a consistent location across transaction pages could make moving between different workflows feel more intuitive.

We've updated the status to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking community interest and sharing your feedback with the product team as they consider future improvements to the experience.

Hi Timothy, while we appreciate your feedback I want to be upfront that we don't have any plans to add a complete opt out option.

JAX has become a core part of how Xero works, which is why we've moved it to always-on. That said, JAX isn't active until you open it and move through the initial consent step, so it won't do anything without you initiating it.

You won’t be able to turn JAX off for the whole organisation, but you don’t have to use it:

    • If you don’t want to use JAX, simply don’t open it
    • If you don’t want certain people to use JAX, you can manage their Xero roles and permissions so they can’t see sensitive data
  6. Create a button on Jax that allows the dialog box to "Pop Out" or detach from Xero. It makes no sense that I have to copy directions from Jax to paste into Word so I can follow the often multi-step instructions that cannot be done while Jax is active.

Hi Allen, thanks for sharing your idea, and letting us know the changes that matter most for you.

We've reviewed your idea and now it's up to the community to get behind and support it. Make sure you share your idea with any colleagues that this could benefit so they can add their vote too!

Along with votes, other members can now comment to share additional detail about how your idea could improve their experience with Xero.

  7. The automatic, timed log-out leaves data visible on screen for a few seconds before reverting to a log-in screen. This may be browser specific (I tend to use Chrome) but there is a small security or privacy risk when this happens if whoever sees it isn't meant to. And once you know it happens, you can plan for it. I haven't tried it yet, but a screengrab seems a simple approach. I'm not clear on the mechanism to fix this, however, but I thought it would be a good, if trivial, improvement.

Hi Robert, appreciate you raising another request to share feedback on your original idea. I've merged these together and re-opened the initial idea so we can continue to build interest through this.

Just to note, if your idea is moved to Feedback comments and voting are closed however if you have additional feedback you can rate and respond to the update to share additional information and this will be reviewed by out community manager to take action if needed.

From your detail here it sounds like you'd like any information on the screen blanked out for privacy when you're timed out - Would that be correct?

Thanks again for engaging with us through these forums.

  8. Ability to be able to subscribe (via email) to Status updates and incidents for all or selected options within Xero, via the Status page.

A problem with Projects the other day, there was NO alert, no notification. I was entering data thinking it was being saved. Only by accident did I notice my whole day of adding time was gone, went to the discussions then to the status page to see the incident report.

If I was aware of the issue, I could have done manual recording of time.

Other brands like Webflow, Squarespace and many others do this.

  9. Small businesses increasingly want to understand the environmental and social impact of their spending — but ESG tools are complex, expensive, and built for large enterprises.

Xero is uniquely placed to change that.

    Idea:
Embed lightweight, real-time ESG context directly into Xero, so small businesses can understand the impact behind everyday transactions — without extra systems or reporting burden.

    What this could look like:
    • ESG indicators at transaction or supplier level (e.g. climate, labour, governance risk)
    • Simple, plain-English insights alongside payments and invoices
    • Optional summaries over time (e.g. “This quarter’s spend impact”)
    • No scores to manage…

Hi Andrew , thanks for raising this idea here. We understand the business need to report on environmental and social impact for your business. For this reason, we're moving this idea to gain more support from the community. Now it's upto the community to get behind it and support it. Feel free to share this idea with your friends and colleagues who would also benefit from this feature being added on so they can share their thoughts and add on a vote as well! :)

  10. When we receive communication from Xero regarding a case query, it is necessary to log into Xero again to read the answer
This is time consuming and annoying- would love a fix for this.
Is there a way to view the answer and perhaps log in when we are ready to respond?

  11. When we go to the apps directory, and click on an app we are interested, they are usually associated with an external company. For instance, Crypto websites that consolidate our crypto transactions, then can be imported into Xero.

But when I go to the information pages about the apps, there is no link I can find to the actual website of the company. There are usually links to support, or social media.

Please go one step further and just put in the official website.

The reason for this is because sometimes we are researching what services actually connect with Xero…

Thanks for submitting your idea here, we appreciate you taking time to let us know how we could improve the App Store for you.

As you mentioned, the app listings currently have links to their social media pages, but not directly to their website.

For now, you might use these social media pages to get links to their websites. In the meantime, our team will check into this and your suggestion can now begin to build support with votes from other community members.

If you're interested to see recent releases or get a pulse on what's coming soon see The Long and Short of it. 🙂

Thanks for the feedback, Steve I've passed along your compliments to our support team too.

Out of interest is there anything in particular you'd like to be able to download your support conversations for? e.g would you be wanting to share these somewhere else or file them somewhere to have on hand? This'd be great to share back with our team.

For the time being, as you might've found (though a little manual) - you can copy & paste the detail of a support case internal an external document such as Google Docs or MS Word.

  14. When Xero Support is added to a Xero Practice Manager tenant, Xero should automatically send an email notification to the tenant’s registered email address.

This would provide a clear audit trail and help firms track when staff members grant Xero Support access to the tenant.

When Xero Support is added to an XPM tenant, Xero should automatically send an email to the tenant’s registered email address.

    The email should include:

The date and time Xero Support was added
The user who added Xero Support
A short explanation of what access was granted
A reminder to remove Xero Support when access…

Thanks for sharing this idea. We understand you would value the of receiving a clear notification when Xero Support has been granted access, including what the access is for and how long it will remain active.

We’re moving this idea to Gaining Support so other customers can vote and share their feedback.

  15. From the standard template, is it not possible for Xero to create a "show tax amount column" option which I can select as opposed to only including the tax rate in each line item? This without creating an advanced docx template from scratch?

Hi Lungile, thanks for sharing this suggestion. We can see how including a VAT amount column on standard invoice templates could provide a clearer breakdown of tax for each line item and make invoices easier for customers to review.

I've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support. If you'd like to see this added, please keep voting and let us know how this would improve your invoicing process.

  16. Most of my companies do not have credit or debit cards, now I need to correct the Xero account with internal invoicing between the companies to recoup the costs and and claim the VAT in the correct company. Easy fix is to allow for debit orders or EFT payment. If accounts are not paid up to date, just block the use of the company.

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback.

We can understand why paying by card for subscriptions does not suit everyone.

Xero does offer differing payment methods across regions.

Depending on the region, these include card payments as well as direct debit options such as BECS in Australia and New Zealand, BACS in the United Kingdom, ACH/eCheck in the United States, and SEPA in Europe.

In South Africa, the current subscription payment method is Visa or Mastercard credit or debit card payments.

We'll get a broader sense of interest from other SA users on offering direct debit or bank transfer here.

  17. I would love Xero to create a piece of software for Film Production Accountants - Xero4Film!

I work doing some film production accounting/bookkeeping for feature film companies in the UK as well as doing standard accounting for small businesses. Currently the software used for film productions seems to be Eclipse or Smart Accounting. Neither of these are very user friendly and I wondered if there was a possibility of Xero bringing out a version of its accounting software that could be used by Film Production Accountants. There are a few other software options out there eg Creative Computing but they…

  18. I'm in the Assurance Dashboard in a client's datafile, doing a quick audit trail check for things that might need fixing or looking at, and I noticed that there were a couple of contacts being flagged as having the same bank account. So I looked at those contacts, and yes they do have the same bank account... Because one of them was merged into the other and then archived!

It's been dealt with, and should no longer be coming up as flagged for checking.

Hi Freya, thanks for your feedback regarding the Assurance Dashboard. You’ve highlighted an important point about how archived and merged contacts are still being flagged.

We’ve moved your suggestion to Gaining Support, meaning it’s now live for community voting. This allows us to monitor the idea's momentum and better understand its impact on our users.

To clear the flag manually, you can briefly restore the contact, update the bank account details by adding a number to it, and archive it again. While we understand this isn't an ideal solution, it will resolve the immediate display issue. If you have any other questions, our support team is always here to help.

  19. Make the reactivate process easier. Currently you need to change the selection to "All" under myxero. Hidden in the filter icon, could be more obvious with a visible drop down when you click subscription tab.

    Current process
    Select the Subscriptions tab.
Click the filter icon next to the search bar, select All, and search by the organisation name.

  20. There isn't anywhere in Xero where we can add brief feedback. This would be helpful to have in the help menu please.

For example there is a new issue after the new updates on invoicing - this feature would allow a quick notification to Xero that something needs fixed or we are super impressed with new changes! It takes too long to add something to product ideas (like now), to be ignored or gather a lot of voters before something is fixed. Same with raising a case, most of the time it wont be a fix, we get directed back…

Thanks for your input to product ideas, Nadine.

Though there is no direct way to leave feedback in the product atm, there are now many ways our team's are surfacing in product messaging to updates users of a change and request feedback especially through staggered releases.

We'll continue to consider how and when is best to engage with customers through Xero and will keep a watchful eye on support for your idea here.

In the meantime please do feel free to start ideas for changes you feel could further improve your experience with Xero through Xero product ideas, here 😊
