  1. At the moment I am adding employee costs (wages) into xero projects.

We have an option with bills to assign a project to that bill be awesome to be able to assign hours worked (with cost) to each of our projects in the timesheet section, and to set per line be good.

    eg;
    Monday project 1 - $250
    Tuesday project 2 - $300
    wednesday project 3 - $250

  2. It would be great if there was an option to automatically attach the supplier source invoices to the batch payment summary report.

For example, where an SME has an in-house accounts person raise the batch payment for approval, you would have the option to not just download the batch summary report but include the attached files as well (i.e. the supplier invoices).

Currently you have to down load the batch payment summary and attach the invoices separately. Whilst accounting practices may have document manager packages that can do this for them, SME owners may not and this feature would be…

  4. The repeating invoices that go to draft should have an option of saving for the next repeating invoice for that client. If you dont edit the invoice before it goes to draft eg: to increase an annual charge, then it does not save for the next time that repeating invoice comes up. Either that or give an option for a repeating invoice that has been delited to repeat again.

Hi Margaret, thanks for raising your idea here.

Just want to add that it's only possible for adviser or standard + reports roles to view, edit or post Manual Journals.

Does that change your idea here at all?

  6. Support Quick Method of GST/HST tax calculation for Canadian small business. Small business corporations in Canada have an option of so called Quick Method of GST/HST tax calculation that is based on a marginal percentage from the sales revenue amount instead of full balance of taxes collced and paid. Many small businesses choose to use QM because it frequently and significantly (upt to 30%) reduces GST/HST taxes payable. Current GST/HST tax report does not support the QM and the manual workaround method through tax adjustment is not 100% corret in terms of the line numbers in the report. Enabling QM…

  7. A regular check to ensure you are using the correct subscription for the size of your business. we downsized but without checking our subscription and have been paying for a subscription for more staff than we have. A quarterly reminder email to remind clients to check their subscription is correct for their needs.

  8. Suggest being able to turn a bill to pay directly into a prepayment or better yet a part prepayment.

The Bills to Pay function doesn't work well (at all?) for prepayments - if a draft bill is received there is no workflow to set it as a prepayment recognised by Xero (although you can set the account to debit as a prepayment). Suggest adding "Record as prepayment" to the bill options drop down.

Even better would be the functionality to record the bill as a part prepayment, many of our bills are for annual service delivery, therefore the bill will…

Hi Matthew and Anthony, appreciate perhaps not as streamlined as you'd like here there is the ability to apply a prepayment to a bill.

In Xero, you would enter the bill to recognise the expense, payment itself would generally be recognised through the bank account when reconciling which is where you can create a prepayment and then apply the credit to the bill.

Alternatively, if you'd like to do this from the bills screen, you could use the create icon (+) in the top blue navigation and select Spend Money when redirected you'll want to switch the 'Spent as' to Prepayment from Direct Payment.

  9. It would be super useful to add the xero organisation name to the subject line of emails sent from recipients of online invoices so firms with multiple xero organisations can see straight away, which xero organisation the contact belongs too, when they submit an email query via their online invoice link.

  10. It would be great if the receipt analysis tool on expenses was able to identify weather a receipt is a VAT receipt or not based on the inclusion of a VAT number or a VAT amount itemised.

  11. Would it be possible to up date the CIS feature to have the reports that are filed through Xero to HMRC be automatically saved into the filed with HMRC section so that you can see the original return that was submitted if you have had to update it. Returns are not saved on HMRC if they are submitted through Xero.

  12. Please re-work the Employee Contact Details report to include ALL of the information available in the employee bulk upload template and in the same format. Also add email address to the bulk upload format as it is already in the Employee Contact Details report.

When a client undergoes a restructure, the employees must be copied into the new file. It is EXTREMELY time consuming to type it all.

You have the start of a great export/import ability, it just needs a little bit of attention and it would be perfect.

  13. Open up Purchase orders to be copied to a Spend Money or Transfer.

Also make all transaction screens the same. The transfer screen still looks like it's from the 90's.

  14. We are a design firm that sells non-inventory goods - we might purchase a faucet from a wholesale vendor, want to mark it up for profit and then re-sell to our clients. This cannot be a unique scenario for other Xero users. Everything we order is one-off because every design is different. On the back end, I would like to seamlessly connect the client purchase to the vendor purchase - see my cost of goods AND profit for each item. I don't want to have to manually enter a marked up price for each item I sell. On any given…

  15. This is functionality that used to exist and has just disappeared 01/01/24. When creating a sales invoice from a project it would be useful if the sales tax to apply could continue to default from the customer's record. This prevents mistakes when invoicing customer's in different countries.

  16. AWS Service Invoices must be very common - that is, lots of businesses receive AWS invoices. And yet, the automatic bill scanner cannot parse them; it cannot find the total, or VAT, or anything like that.

I attach a redacted JPG sample, but am happy to provide full PDF ones when not on a public forum.

Please improve your bill scanner to handle these - thank you!

  17. AU Payroll: Retain Holiday Groups for multiple years.

Queensland has many regional holidays depending on region & our employees are scattered across regions. While I can setup a regional Holiday Group that takes most of its holidays from the Qld state based group - this group survives only one year.

Please create holiday groups that at least retain the base Qld state based holidays each year .... so the only addition required is to add in the 'show day' based on region.

OR the ability to refresh the groups by re-emulating the Qld holidays once more & once per year.

  18. In reports - Be able to make formulas from individual rows / accounts not just "columns, group totals or formula rows". I have attached an example of the work around required to get Gross Profits for hospitality split into Wet (Booze) and Dry (Food). It adds 8 lines and makes the report unwieldy. I would love to to more interesting formula. And not have to export to Excel or other programs.

  20. Under Custom Reports

I send out reports to my departments each month, this morning it took 4 hours to add the tracking codes to the new P & L reports (we love the new report and so do our Department Heads).
I was wondering if there is a way of saving each custom report for each individual dept with their tracking within a folder. We have a Junior and Senior Campus and about 45 departments at each. We already have a lot of custom reports so having a folder system would allow each Admin staff member to access what they…

Thanks for the example, Shellee! That's a good few departments 😮

There's no facility to create folders in the Reports Centre for this sort of categorisation atm.

We'll begin tracking support in this here.
