  1. As you’ve found, right now it’s not possible to submit timesheets using the casual rate during the weekday and then also to be able to submit timesheets for the casual rate that applies on the weekend.

    From your idea it sounds as if you'd like employees to be able to submit timesheets with start & end times and different earnings rates, Nathan? This isn't possible atm.

    However, an option here where you're dealing with multiple earnings rates for an employee is to get them to submit timesheets using the 'Total hours worked'. This'll let them;

    • record the number of hours worked per day, including partial hours
    • record time spent at different earnings rates and tracking categories if used.

    Your employees may need to edit the timesheet setting, by opening Xero Me, going to Timesheets > Settings and selecting 'Total hours worked'.

  2. It would be useful to be able to send an email to a customer xx days after an invoice is paid.

    This could be used for all sorts of things from offering discounts on new orders to reminding them to leave a review for your service. A bit more of a CRM style feature but would help with business workflow and keeping actions in one place.

We use the search facility when trying to locate a previous invoice from a customer but the search doesn't show a summary of the items ordered (the "description" column) so could you perhaps add the "description" column listing into the search results when the down arrow is pressed that currently only shows the date and payment total. We find we need to go through so many invoices just to find the one which has a certain "product" customer ordered.

  4. Multiple sections in a single quote with their own separate totals.

    Purpose: when quoting on similar products with different pricing to present to a client, with their own separate totals. Currently, we have to send a separate quote to the same client which means they're receiving multiple emails from us.

  5. Hiding archived accounts from chart of accounts list when customising report layouts, perhaps with a tick box to show or hide the archived accounts. It makes the job of customising layouts so tedious when the old messy chart of accounts come up every time and you can’t hide the archived accounts!

  6. When looking at the Pay Run / Pay Run History page, please add number of employees in each pay run to the overview. We report on this each pay period and would make more sense to be shown here then having to click into the pay run or

  7. I have a client who is wanting to set up a vendor and queried about the ability to send a form to the potential vendor with information required directly from Xero
    Unfortunately this is not an option at this time but I am wondering if this is something other businesses would use and how helpful this would be

  8. Include a new field in Payroll Employee data with employee number. Employees will have a unique identifier in Xero. For any new employees, Xero will generate a unique number.

  9. Turn off the mileage claims option in the Expense Settings .. currently one cannot do this ... we have never used this option, and it's a pain when we use the Xero expenses app as it adds another layer to inputting an expense.

  10. Currently you are able to select the tax scale Horticultural/Shearers but there is no default tax rate attached. Apparently if employee falls under this scale you need to select for reporting to ATO which means you have to then manually calculate tax when you do the pays which is not possible if you have multiple employees knowing which employee wants what rate as they all do not use the default. This also leads to errors if not picked up it doesnt calculate automatically. May I suggest that we urgently attention to have the default ATO tax scale rate included with…

  11. We receive an email each month with a link to the invoice, which we can then print to a pdf to download & attach to another email to send to Hubdoc or Xero Bills.
    Many businesses have a 'do not click links' policy.
    Please attach the pdf invoice to the original email to save all your users those extra clicks.

  12. In Sage, we used to be able to run a report that allowed us to export all our employees hourly rates, so yearly pay rises were easy to plan from.
    There isn't a way to do this in Xero - so my suggestion is to have a payroll report, similar to the employee details report, that allows you to see all employees hourly rates.

  14. There is a new feature on Xero Payroll that creates employee numbers automatically on employee creation. A great new feature, it gets my vote. It would be good if this worked for bulk import, e.g. by setting the employee number field in the import as blank. (When I tried this it didn't work).

  16. Allocation to Projects

    Can a feature please be added where a recurring bill is allocated to a project on set up? At present this can only be done manually after the recurring transaction has been created. We have over 100 recurring bills per month where we'll have to do this manually month-on-month in perpetuity.

  17. In the old Xero reports as part of the management report, it was possible to run a report that showed month by month actuals for the FY to date then the budget month by the month for the rest of the financial year to give a full year forecast.

    However, in the new Xero reports, this functionality has gone. Try and write my own report but the dates don't update automatically regardless of the reporting date you select (as confirmed by a Xero specialist)

  18. I would like to ask if there is a possibility of having on suppliers' and customers' activity bar (please see attached screenshot, what I mean) and one more column - bill/invoice description? I used to work with QuickBooks, and they had this feature, which was very helpful.

  19. Can we please view more than the current bank statement lines in cash coding?
    At the moment you can only view 4 bank statement lines in the cash coding tab. Date, Payee, Reference & Description.

    We have found that sometimes we have clients using the Analysis Code, particulars or Code to reference details for the bank payment so when these come through to cash coding the view only items are all blank.

  20. Say I go to a supplier and make a cash purchase. I use my debit card and then walk out with goods and a receipt. Scanning the receipt to Xero and coding the purchase if easy but I am pretty slack and normally lose the receipt before I get to scan it. What say, the vendor scans a QR code that I carry containing my email/Xero info and this allows the vendor's system to email me the purchase document. No paper and I can code the purchase when I am at my PC later in the day. Also means I…
