Receivable Invoice Summary Report - Need ability to Sort by Gross Amount
We recently converted from Quickbooks Desktop and are trying to reproduce a "Sales by Customer" Report that is sorted by gross invoice amount. In Xero, I can click on the column header to accomplish this, but when I save the draft report or export to PDF, the sort order is not maintained. I would like the ability to change the report format to maintain the sort order after saving.

With the request around bad debts - is there a particular way you are handling these in Xero atm?
Potentially adding Payments/Credits column to the report will help with this? This way when you run the report you could then re-order by the Payments/Credits column to view those that have paid the most > least.

Reporting - Ability to 'Save' Custom reports instead of 'Save As'
This is very similar to https://productideas.xero.com/forums/939198-for-small-businesses/suggestions/46454503-reporting-ability-to-save-to-same-draft-file, except that we need this same functionality for reports that have been saved as custom reports. I'm tired of having new copies made of an income statement whenever I add an account and need to change where it is grouped. This should be a simple edit & save. While Save As is needed, it should not be the default and only option.

Sales | List - View check number /payment reference
I would like to be able to see Check numbers in the list of invoices owed. that way when I view a client and their activity ... the invoice shows paid ... I would be able to see the check number they paid with. The reason is sometimes a client sends a check and does not indicate what invoice to apply it to. I normally apply it to the oldest invoice or the month they sent the payment. When they say I paid Feb with chk number 1234, I can look and see what invoice I applied it too and…

Xero Files - Direct option to download file
Now that you cant attached docuemnts from files to a contact like you used to I have to download them from the files screen, but before I can download them, I have to click on them to preview first. I have to do this for 4 documents right now.
I would love to see the below made available in the files screen:
1. Have download available in the three dot drop down.

Reporting | Groups - Option to sort in alphabetical order
In the old reports, once the account was added to a subgroup, the account code would automatically be in alphabetical order. However, this is manual for the new reporting.
A good function would be to automate this in the new reports as well (per the old reports) rather than dragging and dropping manually.

Business Snapshot - Filter by tracking category
It would be good to be able to filter the Business Snapshot by tracking category and show only income/expenses for each Tracking Category on the dashboard e.g by Department/Region/Product etc.

Contact Cash Activity Report that shows all contacts and can show both individual transactions or a summary (total).

Xero Accounting app - 'None' option for Tracking in Bank Reconciliation
Currently you can't select NONE on Job Tracking list when reconciling on mobile - it would be great if this was added just like it is when reconciling on desktop

Customer statements - A tick box for when statements have been sent
When a statement is sent to customers it would be great if there was a tick or "sent" next to the customer details in the statements section. At the moment i tick the "send me a copy" box. But i am always having to go back to my emails to check or manually writing down who has been sent statements.

UK Payroll - Book to separate accounts
UK Payroll: Allow each payrolls to book to different accounts.
Most consulting firms have a set of employees on fees, the costs of which are considered as costs of sale in the P&L, and a set of employees in the back office, the costs of which are considered as operating costs in the P&L.
Xero already support multiple payrolls (and we use this feature) but Xero doesn't not support each payroll booking to separate accounts in the chart of accounts. We have to do an error prone manual journal for each payroll each payroll cycle.

Bills - Quick option to add a new Supplier Credit Note
When you enter a bill and save it as a draft or approve a bill up the top it gives you the option to enter a new bill but it doesn't give you the option to enter a credit note. Because I can click add a new bill I enter all my invoices first but if Xero gave me the option to enter a credit note I would use this very much. Right now I have 14 supplier credit notes to enter and that is not unusual and it is very time consuming having to go back to the bill…

Lock dates - Ability to edit reference of an invoice in a locked period
Sales Invoices - Ability to edit a purchase order number on approved/sent invoices when accounts period is locked.
Purpose - ease to amend non financial adjusting information.

Bank Rules - Set an order for priority
There are three types of bank rules (receive, spend, transfer) and there is no absolute order. So, if there is a conflict between one that is # 1 in transfer and # 100 in spend, the spend one wins.
Do you see what I mean?
There is currently no way around this? It would be good to have an absolute rule order covering all three types of rules.2 votes -
History & Notes - View deleted bank rules
My Bank rules were deleted by someone. Xero doesn't have a restore function or the ability to see who deleted these.

Xero Files - Attach files to Bank or Nominal Accounts
It would be a really useful to be able to attach files to a bank account within Xero, much as you can to a contact or transaction.
The use cases for this could be:
When a disorganised client send bank statements in as attachments for irregular payments it would be very handy to be able to store those attached to the account in Xero; as close to where I would want to use them as possible.There are supporting documents that relate to an account as a whole - such as an accruals or prepayment schedule that would be great…

UK Payroll - Holiday enhancement as per new legislation 1 Jan 2024 to commence April 2024
New holiday regulations from 1 January 2024 to commence from 1 April 2024. The new legislation from 1 April is only based on 4 weeks so it would appear the only option is to manually calculate the enhanced holiday pay.
It would be good in time if it was possible in Xero Payroll to calculate the enhanced holiday on selected pay elements only such as overtime, bonuses, commission, etc.
We use two other payroll software packages that allow this process of selecting specific elements to calculate the enhanced holiday so it is possible.

Contacts - Add IBAN in account number and Swift in Routing number
There is an issue with the new contact edit settings, we cannot add IBAN in account number and swift in routing numberFinancial details. Since we have vendors globally, not everyone have US routing and acct number only. This needs to be fixed since we are relying on the bank details updated in contact

Since the initial release, our team have made an update and you'll find you can now enter IBAN and SWIFT into account number without it throwing errors.
Currently, if you save information into the account number field it'll spread across the bank account prefix and bank account number fields - The thing to note is that this will not impact processing of batch payments and will be one field when exported for batch payments.
We understand it’s not the perfect solution and are looking at further enhancing this - I'll keep you updated here.
