  1. I have employees with bank account numbers that include a letter. Xero won't accept this as valid. The bank won't accept it as a valid account without it.

    This means that I can't have the correct bank details in an employee's information, nor can I create a .aba file with the correct details for that employee, nor can I create a bill payment for a reimbursement for that employee, nor can I pay any bill for any other entity in the same position.

    I would like to be able to pay these people the same as I do everyone else.

  3. Transactions imported by Yodlee Bank Feed do not display in the chronological order that they occur in my online banking portal or bank statements.

    As I have a lot of bank transactions on any given day, this makes it time consuming to do any kind of reconciliation between by online bank account and my bank feed import as I have to match each transaction up in the different orders they appear.

    This is a regular occurrence as Yodlee sometimes imports transactions part way through a day and I have to work out where I got up to processing these transactions…

  4. We need a tick box in the ALL tab section for Purchase Overview Bills - We should be able to from the ALL tab select Draft, Awaiting approval, Awaiting payment, Repeating. You constantly have to go from tab to tab when searching in ALL

    It would be great if you could replace the underscores with spaces when downloading PDF reports from Xero - currently we have to tidy this up before sending reports to clients which takes unnecessary time.

  7. Multi row edit UI on expenses.

    I recent moved from Expensify, I've lost about 4 hours of productivity each week having to manually open and update 100s of expenses each week.

    I’d like to be able to update categories and VAT status on many tickets at once, a simple list view UI with checkboxes on the left and the ability to update more then one row at a time would work well.

  8. There are numerous discussion posts about Xero's lack of "Email to Expenses" functionality which is yet to be resolved, but there appears to be another gap in Expenses which makes producing many of the Bills/Expenses reports (including the TAPR) inaccurate.

    This happens because whilst the Expenses entry screen allows "Assign to Client" using Xero Contacts lookup, the Payee themselves cannot be connected this way. This means that if an employee expenses a payment, it never appears in any "By Contact" reporting, and cannot be included in the automated TAPR.

  9. The ability to export the auto enrolment pension report and also to "hide" deep archived employees. I check this report mid month and send a list to HR as a sanity check for those employees not yet enrolled/non eligible but now have to scroll through "all" employees past and present to get the current information. Not very user friendly. Even an export option with some way of then filtering whether the employee is current would be useful.

  10. Report to display how one (of several) bank accounts was reconciled by another user. Items to include Who (Contact) What (Account Selected and Description) Division and Tax Rate.

    This is to ensure the items were reconciled correctly, particularly overseas payments where NO GST must be selected. To check work of admin.

When I am reviewing expenses that have been submitted by an employee, I would like to see the current balance of the account that the expense is being assigned to as well as the overall budget for that account. That way, I can make a more informed decision as I either approve or decline the expense.

  12. We need a report that will give us a list of lapsed customers. We as a small business need to be in touch with customers who haven't had any transactions with us for 6 months or a year. It would be great to have a feature or report where we can easily find these customers. On our old accounting system, all of our customers had a " last invoice date" column so we could easily pull a report for any of these customers who hadn't been invoiced for 6 months or more.

  13. There is currently no way of putting a default mark-up on supplier invoices that are being assigned to projects. Many of my clients have a set mark-up on all invoices, so the means that they are frequently entering the same information. This would be handy to have a default setting (with the options of it being overriden if needed) to stop having to do the same thing over an over.

  14. The current version of Shopify Integration App, does not support bringing across the Shopify Order ID, this means the only method you have to check the system is to match the date and the amount.

    You can imagine if you get 3 orders in 1 day that are the same amount its impossible to match them correctly.

    Can we make the system use the Shopify Order ID as the Invoice number?
    To prevent duplication previous apps i have used in xero have applied a prefix to the invoice id, for example NWB- so it would look like this NWB-4615

  15. In History and Notes, that current 1000 transaction search you have is too restrictive given the limited search fields you have available.

    Due to performing more than 1000 specific transactions (e.g., deletions), I can't see the ones performed in the earlier part of the day.

    So obviously by being able to isolate a particular time period in any given day (e.g., 9am to 11am), that would solve the issue.

    In all honesty, limiting the search to 1000 transactions was ridiculous in the first place. Who came up with that number??!!!

  16. Xero and NEST do not always link.

    For example a client of mine has a pay date 15th September (pay period 15/08/23-14/08/23). This gets sent to NEST from Xero using a pay reference period 15/09/23-14/10/23. This results in the submission showing in the period following the current period on NEST.

    I have spoken to NEST and they advised that Xero is incorrect and need to change the pay reference period to match the pay period so the file is submitted to the correct period within NEST.

    Please can this issue be rectified to avoid manual submissions having to be made.

  17. The Danish Business Authority requires Accounting Systems to be approved by them in order for you to use their system in the country. XERO currently have no plans to get approved by them, I think they should get approval from DBA, and other countries, to enable subsidiaries of Global companies to use the same software as their parent companies.

  18. After reporting a bug (can no longer preview contact files) I was given the following response :

    "As you’ve found, right now it’s not possible to preview contact files anymore. You can however, download it and view it instead.
    I’ve included a link to Xero Product Ideas where you can view and support current ideas or create a new one to share your thoughts."

    When something breaks you fix it. You DO NOT pretend that fixing it is a "New Feature" - that then needs requested and voted on.

Currently XERO record any FX unrealized gain or loss for outstanding foreign currency invoices and bills according to the exchange rate if the day when the invoice or bill is created and then calculate the unrealized gain or loss based on the daily rate movement. When the invoice or bill is paid, the actual gain or loss is then calculated and recorded as FX gain/loss based on the actual base currency amount received. This applies well to foreign currency invoices which are paid to a bank account in base currency.

    However, this method should not apply to foreign currency invoices…
