Invoices - invoice a percentage of a task
Having the ability to invoice a percentage of each task in a project.
Our company invoices as a job progresses e.g 20% of one task is completed the first month, and then 50% has been completed the following month.
At this stage, I am only able to apply a 'discount' to alter the amount invoiced (while still maintaining the full contract amount on the invoice as a reference to clients). When doing this, it also marks that task as invoiced and I am unable to further invoice. The only alternative to this, is invoicing for a project amount and still…10 votes -
Invoices - Add a column to show if customer has been billed
It still seems absolutely staggering that you can't add a column to the payable invoice summary report showing to which customer each invoice has been billed.
It would then be very easy to scan down and see if any invoices which should have been billed out haven't been.
Missing assigning an invoice to a customer is a major area of financial risk and it's so easy to do on Xero and no way to easily check.
Many people are unhappy about this and surely the big concerns and risk areas should be a priority? A business could easily lose tens…

Bank Rules - Add condition for transaction type
Bank Rules - Add condition for Transaction Type (and other Statement Details)
Sometimes loan payments only come through with the loan number as the payee, but the transaction is for Interest only. I want to be able to set up a bank rule based on the "Transaction Type" coming through in the bank feed so that Interest and Principal payments can be coded directly to the correct codes. Most banks have these details in one of "Payee", "Description", or "Reference". ANZ bank does not, there may be other banks that are similar.

Fixed Asset - Report Customisation
I would like to see the ability to customise the Fixed Asset Schedule. Currently it defaults to alphabetical order. In order for us to display the Fixed Asset types in a more logical order we need to name the fixed assets 1- Land, 2 - Buildings etc. We cannot add page breaks either which would be appreciated. We should be able to Edit the layout as we can with the other reports.

Invoices within sales overview page - Distinguish automatic paid invoices from regular online invoices
Invoices that are automatically deducted from your bank account will be shown as awaiting payment as long as they are not paid, but should be clearly distinguishable from invoices that you still need to pay, i.e. take action on. This way you have an accurate overview of your account balance, expected payments, and actions you need to take.

Reports - Use UK specific reporting terms (i.e. Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger)
Head ledgers with correct names for UK market. We use Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger not receivables and payables, also we call it nominal ledger or sometimes general ledger. Why can't you allow us to change the headings or at least set up Xero like Sage does so you can have a more accountancy based set up for advanced users and not the layman even though the content would be the same for both to see

Contacts - Show aged breakdown on contact overview
Why does the screen on each contact not show an aged breakdown at a glance like it does in Sage 50 accounts? Sometimes I only want to look at that particular supplier/customer to see what we owe them by month without having to go to the reports screen. Also why does it not list payments on account in the top part of the screen. It is so confusing to work out what is due and what isn't. Awful set up

Xero Interface - Select/Highlight details on page without automatically following link
Select/Highlight Xero web page details without automatically following link
Most web links allow for text and links to be selected/highlighted by clicking, holding and dragging for additional options when the selection is right clicked (copy, print etc.)
It seems unintuitive when attempting to select/highlight (clicking and dragging over text) items in Xero, such as invoice numbers, that the page immediately follows the link as though clicked.
It is often useful to select text for simple copying, or highlight specific sections for printing on web pages, but this behavior prevents that basic utility.2 votes -
Invoice - Add a Find search option on invoices
Simple Find button as used in Quickbooks Desktop. This facility was used on a daily basis by our construction company to find anything that came on an invoice, all you needed was to type in one word and it would seek it out in seconds. I do not understand why Xero are not capable of implementing this. I have been told by Xero that the more people that support an idea the more likely it is that they will do it. Please support this.

Invoices - Ability to add details on the Description field without appearing on the customer invoice
In our business, there may be multiple people helping on a particular project for a client. Currently, in order to have the income allocated correctly to each employee we have to enter separate items for each person. This then flows through to the invoice, showing all the amounts and items listed separately.
Would it be possible to look at a way that "behind the scenes" we can add multiple invoice items so that income is allocated correctly, but on the invoice it shows a single description and amount?
It just makes the invoice look more confusing than it needs to…

Inventory - Identify top customers for an item
When reviewing a business' product range for the sake of refining and optimising, we need to identify which customers purchases what products and in what quantities and to what value.
E.g. if I have a butchery, I would want to know who my top purchasers of beef products are and my top purchasers of pork products, and how much those customers spend on beef and pork respectively over a given period.3 votes -
Payroll AU - Prompt Payroll Admin to update leave accruals when changing pay calendars
When a company changes their payroll frequency to a new calendar there is no prompt to adjust the leave accrual.
For instance, I recently changed my client from Fortnightly to Monthly Calendar.
I adjusted each employee to the new calendar.On their Leave tab in the set-up of the leave accrual it asked the question:
Hours a full-time employee works in a Fortnightly pay period
When I changed the calendar to monthly this question changed to:
Hours a full-time employee works in a Monthly pay period

Batch Payment - File compatible with Lloyds CBO
Any chance we could get compatibility to upload batch payments to Lloyds Commercial banking online without having to manipulate the batch file outside of Xero before uploading.

Invoices - Improvements for GoCardless invoices
Firstly, there are some basic functions totally missing from repeating invoices:
- Being able to apply a credit to future repeating invoices
- (So that payment doesn’t accidentally get taken by direct debit when there is a credit on the account.)
- Schedule a time for repeating invoices to be generated and sent
- Schedule a time invoice reminders to be sent (Currently my clients receive their invoices and reminders in the wee hours of the morning which looks really unprofessional.)
Then there’s the integration with GoCardless automated payments… Which is, well, totally unusable (for me anyway).
I need one of the following for…

Settings - Notification of settings change
There needs to be an automatic email notification sent to users when a financial setting is changed. Our gst number was changed and we had no idea until we manually spotted the change.
