  1. It would be useful to be able to reconcile a payment from one foreign bank account (eg USD) for another foreign currency.

    We tend to have predominately USD customers and a lot of EUR suppliers, so we find that quite often we make a payment to our EUR supplier out of our USD bank account.

    When reconciling this in the bank we have to post a payment to a manual clearing account to then be able to post the payment to the EUR Supplier account to clear the invoices.

  2. Currently bill costs are not posted to the accounts until it has been approved. It would be beneficial if once a bill was entered/submitted for approval in xero the costs were shown in the accounts. If the approver is not available to approve the bills it holds up finalising month end accounts.

  5. Back button from the New Batch Payment window should take you to the Awaiting Payment window with the purchase invoices still checked. This has been lost with the upgrade to the Purchases window.

    Now, the "back" button from an open batch takes you to the Purchases Overview, so you lose everything you've done

  6. New bank rec reports are based on the start of the month to the current date as a default. The old bank rec report just had an end date. Would like a fast way to move end date field and not have to also alter the start date.

    Hey community! As a few of you have rightly pointed out, the previously posted workaround isn’t suitable if your end date is prior to your start date. In this case, you will have to update both start and end fields. 

    Thank you to everyone that flagged that, and apologies for the confusion.

    Because the the Bank Reconciliation summary lives in the Bank Reconciliation reporting pack, the date picker available is the same as the other bank reports (Bank Statement and Statement Exceptions).

    Understand that some users would prefer an ‘as-at’ date instead, similar to the older report. In the meantime, you can select the same date in both fields to achieve this.

    As that doesn't quite solve this for some users, we're leaving this idea open to continue to collect and share your feedback with our product team. 

  7. I can see multiple suggestions and several thread over a number of years regarding the need for an SMS feature for both customer communication and invoicing. When are you going to add this? The tech is readily available to you. Many other platforms offer this now. Please prioritize this enhancement! Thanks.

    Hi team, we've now extended sending invoices via SMS to customers in the US. This is a free feature for all paid plans in AU and US, and can be used in addition to, or as an alternative to sending an invoice via email.

    See detail on how sending invoices via SMS works on Xero Central.

    Again, at this time there is no way to automate SMS messaging via Invoice reminders. We'll update you if there is any word of this here.

  8. The most important information in the statement line is usually at the end of it, the bit that is always hidden. I've been asking for this since 2019. Its a bit frustrating to see that the statement lines in the Reconciliation tab are now showing some kind of machine-generated guess about what the purchase is, when people have been asking for ages for the full statement line to be shown. Can anyone explain why Xero is so reluctant to do this simple thing?

  10. It's very hard to tell multiple organizations apart, particularly if they have the same initials. Currently, Xero simply displays the organizations' initials. It also assigns a random color to each organization. It would help distinguish these greatly if the organization settings allowed me to upload an avatar for each organization. Xero's Demo Company already illustrates how this feature would look. Also, it would help edit the color Xero assigns so that the color could match each organization's branding.

  11. If employees are putting their expenses onto Xero Projects then you should be able to pull a report and pay their expenses from it. Otherwise they are going to have to duplicate work by putting it on Projects and then submitting an expense claim.

    Maybe a case of understanding your workflows here a bit better, Rachel. Currently when entering an expense through Xero Expenses you can assign to Projects so these'll attach and show against your Projects in Xero - Would be great to get more details if there's something in here which requires duplication.

One day I added a foreign currency because I needed the rate for a single transaction, but now all of the detail reports show three foreign exchange columns checked all the time, when I don't need them and don't want them. There is no way to turn off foreign exchange organization wide, nor to get rid of the columns. I am aware that I can make custom reports for account transactions, but the fact is that I use right click to open the account detail in a new tab from an existing report such as a balance sheet or income…

  15. It's unfathomable to me that it is not possible to do something as simple as output sales by state or by province or by country or by city. These are discreet fields in Xero and we ought to be able to filter a sales or P&L report to just include sales for some regions or to summarize by state or country. Right now all I can do is export all transactions and run everything through excel, which is not the way this should work. Thanks.

    Hi team, while not a fully fledged report you may find Smart Lists within a contact useful at present. 

    From Contacts you can set up and get a list of customers that meet certain rules that you've set up - such as 'Location' is and setting this to one or more locations your customers are based. 

  16. Ability to be able to create your own custom project report in Projects. For example being able to create a report using the fields in both the Project Details report and the Project Financials report.

    Also the ability to ability to amend the current reports in the format you want and then to save them to customs reports as you can do with other reporting.

  18. When adding a new employee record, allow me to 'create new superannuation' during the process of creating their new record. Currently when adding a new employee record, I need to navigate away from the employee record to 'Settings > Payroll Settings > Superannuation' to add a new superannuation relationship. On the new employee record, when the pop up appears for superannuation, if you could add a spot to say 'Create New relationship' or something under the employee record - I'll buy you a beer.

  20. Currently, when creating an invoice, the payment terms dropdown gives you the following options:
    - Today
    - 7 days
    - 14 days
    - EOM +1
    - EOM +20
    - end of next month
    I would like to customise this list; the Australian government has recently brought in payment standards of 5 days if sent by e-invoice and 20 days if not, for all invoices sent to all non-corporate Commonwealth entities (including Defence) and neither of those are amongst the standard options.
