  1. Offering a simple update to the Xero system which would dramatically improve one grey area:

    I had a discussion with my team and it's a common topic that keeps coming up - we find it very awkward having the 'Time Off' allowance displayed in 'Hours'.

    Just like some other tracking systems, they allow you to see your 'Time Off' as 'Days' which is much easier to glance at - instead of having to continuously calculate hours, which takes time and can cause confusion on some occasions.

    We would all very much appreciate it if you at least give the option…

  2. There is a role setup for Invoices Only (Purchases). This is useful if you want to have a User process Accounts Payable Invoices, but without providing access to Sales Invoices.

    However, if you login with this role, you can see 'All Contacts' as well as the list of all 'Customers' and the billing amounts outstanding. Surely this is inappropriate if the role is for Invoices Only (Purchases)?

    The suggestion is that a user with the role 'Invoices Only (Purchases) can see Supplier contacts, but cannot view Customer contacts (which is really what most people would expect if this role is…

  4. Please enable assigning manual journals to projects and for project reports to also include the account name / account code.

    The benefits from using tracking categories far outweigh that of Xero project if features like manual journal and account transactions report is not able to reflect or is not consistent with the use of Xero projects.

    Please also consider producing a warning if project name is being duplicated. Another thing that should be critically considered is to include projects under the Find & Recode feature.

  5. In projects it would be most useful we there were more user permission options. A check box of permissions you could give all staff
    1- only have staff see the projects they are assigned to - To give staff privacy on work hours and expenses.
    2- give all staff regardless of their permission access to expenses
    3- give or withhold what financial information they can and can not see
    4- give or limit the options for invoices/quotes

    Blanket permissions don't work.

  6. The ability to pay the ATO automatically from Xero would be a really handy feature. Similar to the automatic super payment, this would be a huge time saver.

  9. For invoices/receipts that are created by a custom branding theme, change the 'issue date' to 'invoice issue date', and create a separate field for 'payment date'.

    This is so that when an invoice is sent in 2021, and payment is made in 2022, the receipt that is automatically generated will clearly show both dates, instead of just the issue date which implies that the receipt was issued in year 2021 when it was actually issued in year 2022.

  10. Bank Accounts Cash Coding problems:
    xero auto enters "unknown" if payee not used
    No Quantity column for shares or livestock transactions
    Posted entries disappear which does not allow easy scroll up and down scrutiny of work done
    account code does not show for coded entries
    bank account description/particulars does not show as per bank statement
    ie simply make the bank statements screen like Banklink so I can move my practice.

    Hi Brian, appreciate your feedback here. However, in order for others in community to understand the specific idea they're supporting and to also share back with the right teams here at Xero we ask to keep one idea per thread. 


    We have an idea started that you can support for livestock calculations

  11. It would help if the NEW FOLDER button in the Files area was available at the top of the page. We have built up a number of folders over the years and having to scroll to the bottom of the page to add a new (current month) folder is a little niggly. If there was a button at the top (as well as the bottom?) that would be a small but helpful improvement! Thanks, love the software otherwise :-)

    Hi community, appreciate your interest and feedback on the idea here. I wanted to provide an update for you all here - while this isn't something we have plans to develop in the near term, in lieu of shifting the placement of this button you may find keyboard shortcuts useful to help you navigate. 

    On your computer you can press 'end' on your keyboard to help draw you straight to the bottom of a page and avoid having to scroll (if you're using a Mac you'll want to press Command + the right arrow) 😊

    Do get this isn't directly what you're asking here and we'll leave the idea open, however hopefully this helps speed things up for now. 

  12. Line items on a remittance. When making a batch payment the remittance should show a breakdown on the invoices paid with refernces, not just the total amount paid.

    Hi everyone, totally get wanting to get an update from us on the idea here. Having a fair amount of interest from users I can say that Quote reminders are defintiely on the teams radar, however with current focus largely on new invoicing we do not have any immediate plans for this in the next 6 months.

    I can assure you, though we mightn't be able to provide updates as frequently as you'd like to see, our product teams are heavily involved in the forums here and our community team often connect to share trends, discuss developments and externally communicate changes that are coming across Xero products. It's important to us to continue developing Xero to streamline payments and help our customers get paid sooner, and your idea here does sit in this realm.

  14. It would be great to have the ability to mark a bill as already paid when being entered.

    We use the bills email address for employees with company credit cards to submit receipts/invoices for purchases however, when these go into bills and before they can be reconciled, they get mixed up with bills actually needing to be paid. This is also the case for invoices we receive that are then direct debited, before the amount is deducted from our accounts, it's easy for these to be confused for bills that need to be batched and paid.   15. We are a multi-currency business. We send out invoices in GBP (base currency), EUR and USD. We have 3 bank accounts (GBP, EUR, USD. I therefore had to create separate invoice templates for each currency, to show the correct bank details. I added the relevant invoice theme when setting up a new contact (customer). This works well when raising an invoice. However when manually sending out a statement it does not take the invoice theme from the one chosen on the invoice (= in our case normally default invoice theme on contact).   19. Ability to mark an invoice as "shipped". I want to use repeating invoices, but it's an administrative nightmare having to use an external method to track which orders have been shipped to the customer. It's not like you can even download just the invoice header information into a spreadsheet and use that. The export option downloads all of the lines, as well.

    An invoice could have a field like "physical item to ship" or "requires processing after payment" that could be used to filter for "unprocessed" items.

    A tracking number would be useful, too. Setting it to "shipped" would send…
