Payroll: add more reports
The choice of payroll reports is so limited on Xero. Can the suite of reports be expanded so that they can give us the information we need to do analysis on?

While we appreciate wanting more flexibility and detail in payroll reports, with payroll development quite separated for each region, and to help our product teams best understand the data that would be most useful for our customers we're going to close this idea and recommend starting ideas for the specific fields that would be helpful in reports and why you'd find this useful.

New invoicing - Use '.' as separators in the date field
New invoicing - ability to type "." between numbers (like you can in bills) i.e 24.6 then becomes 24 June after you press Tab.
Right now it only seems to accept 24/6, but I'm sure you used to be able to type 24.6 Tab and then it would convert to the date. If you use "." now, it will default to todays date
24 votesUnderstand our customers have different habits when entering dates, Emily. Atm you can use '-' or '/' to separate n umbers in your dates, however as you've found '.' isn't an option. We'll begin gathering interest in this here, and I'll share if there are any updates planned.

AU Payroll - Fast click Superannuation directly from payrun
Could you please consider adding the feature of adding and processing auto superannuation payments from each finalised payrun (eg button next to "File" that would prefil the contributions in the payrun and further to authorisation). A number of clients are asking for a payday super feature, and adding this feature directly from the payrun will minimise the number of "clicks" and processing time. This also would be a hot topic if moving to compulsory payday super.

Invoicing - Add Expected Invoice Payment Date within Invoice
Can no longer add an expected payment date when viewing an invoice, you now have to go to the 'awaiting payment' section of invoices. Meaning more steps involved and lost functionality.

Reconcile period - Ability to attach files
Being able to attach files to a reconcile period. This would be useful to easily reference supporting documents like the statement the period has been reconciled off.

Customer Support - Create an idea from a case on Xero central
I can no longer comment on the original idea
what I would like is a button on a support case which allows me to create a product idea linked to the support case, so i don't need to copy and paste the entire case history into the product idea

In terms of the original idea, you can reply directly to the email update you received about the status if there is extra detail you'd like to share with the team - In this case I've merged your original idea with this one to keep the information all together.
We don't have immediate plans for this, but will keep considering how we improve their efficiency when engaging and sharing feedback. We'll track the support here and share if there are any updates. Thanks

GST Reconciliation Report - Save the filed amounts entries
AU There was a discrepancy between GST ac balance at EOQ on the Balance Sheet & the GST refund for the end of quarter BAS. Using the GST Reconciliation report would be a lot more helpful if the Filed Amounts could actually be saved and continuously show the correct unfiled running balance amount and the section "GST Account Summary " for unfiled GST was actually correct as a cumulative balance. I just did 3.5 years worth of GST Reconciliations and nothing saved so all the running balances are wrong and don't flow correctly from one year to the next -…

This project is a top priority and is specifically designed to solve the issues you've raised. The new report will automatically pull in filed return amounts, allow you to drill down into transactions, and always show a correct, cumulative unfiled balance. We're in the development phase, and we’re also actively gathering feedback on the ability to make manual adjustments in the new report, which we know is a critical requirement. Xero Me - Ability to reconcile credit card expenses from a bank feed
It is impossible to us the credit card bankfeed function and allow for the credit card user to account for these expenses in Xero Me.
Solution: allow for credit card transactions to pull through into Xero Me via automatic sychronisation. This should provide a more streamline approach to recordinng individual company card expenditure, remove time in reconciling missing receipts and remove duplication.15 votesHi everyone, we wanted to provide a quick update on the idea to enable reconciliation of credit card expenses directly within Xero Me.

E-invoicing - United Arab Emirates
E-Invoicing in the UAE.
This will soon be a requirement in the UAE with legislation to be passed on this.

Xero already supports e-invoicing in other regions where this has become a regulatory requirement. While we can’t share any definite plans about when or if this will be available in the UAE just yet, your idea status is currently Gaining support. Malaysia E-Invoicing - Two columns to show when validated versus viewed
Regarding the Invoice interface on the Sent Column, perhaps can Xero make it into two instead? One is for the Validated E-Invoicing & the other one is for customer. The reason is now, when we send to MyInvoice, every thing has become "viewed" instead. So now I don't know whether my customer did view or not.
I also suggest the MyInvoice under the Sent column, once the e-invoice validated, can it changed to "validated" instead of "viewed"? Like that we do not need to open another tab at the History and Notes to look up for it.

Extend Search Functionality to the Reporting Menu
One thing I really like in the new Organisation menu is the search bar. When you click the organisation name, the cursor automatically lands in the search field, so you can start typing straight away. It makes switching between orgs quick and seamless.
It’d be great to see this same experience in the new Reporting menu. Favouriting reports is useful, but it doesn’t cover every scenario. For power users, being able to click into the Reporting menu and have the cursor automatically placed in a search field - just like in the Organisation menu - would make it much faster…

New invoicing - When sending show organisation's trading name at top of invoice
The email template has changed which accompanies the invoice to the customer. We have a legal name plus a trading as name which people know us by. Currently the legal name is showing up boldly at the top of the email which it didn't before. We would like the trading name to be in this place so as not to cause confusion to our customers, or have the ability to remove it entirely as it has the logo there displaying the correct name.
207 votesHi community, we really appreciate your feedback on this and hearing why you'd like to be able to change the organisation's name that's shown when sending invoices from Xero.
This is on our teams radar, and is something they may look into longer term however we want to be open that it's not in the current roadmap.

Files - Suggestion for thumbnail previews in Files Inbox
It would be great to look down the list of files in the Xero Files inbox and see a thumbnail image of what the PDF is, so that non-relevant ones or replicas can be deleted in bulk.
When files are forwarded, often the attachment is loaded to the inbox along with multiple other files which turn out to be logos from the email signature, and it is time-consuming to have to open every file to find out whether it is relevant or not, and delete individually.

Compliance with Spanish tax agency for Verifactu
rifactu is a mandatory invoice verification system in Spain, introduced by the Anti-Fraud Law, which seeks to increase transparency and tax control by automatically sending invoicing records to the Tax Agency (AEAT) in real time to prevent fraud. Supported invoicing programs must ensure the integrity, traceability and preservation of invoices, and include a QR code and the mention "Veri*Factu" in the document. Implementation is progressing, with the use of adapted software mandatory for taxpayers from July 2026.

AU Timesheet approval process upgrade
Timesheet approval process
- Give payroll admins the ability to move the status from "draft" to "pending approval" as is possible in NZ and UK or
- Give permissions to users with approval power to see the timesheet in the "draft" status through "Xero me" or
- Permit users with approval power to see the "timesheet" module in addition to "Xero me"

Bank Reconciliation - Change terminology from Reconcile to Categorise or Allocate
Instead of referring to reconcile transactions, it would be better to refer to categorise or allocate transactions.
Bank transactions are categorised - we tell Xero what each transaction is for - answers "What was this for?" However at present this is called Reconcile transactions
Reconciling an Account - is matching the above transactions to the bank's records (statement) - checking that every transaction in Xero matches what actually happened in the bank account and the end balance matches.
The terminology seems to confuse some and they think by categorising/allocating a transaction they have reconciled the account.

We get that using clearer terms like "Categorise" or "Allocate" might feel more intuitive and help reduce confusion when working through bank reconciliation.

Permissions - Ability to set level of Approvals for different transactions

9 votesWe appreciate the feedback and interest in being able to set different levels of approval across different transaction types in Xero atm. Currently the draft permission will enable a user to create draft transactions in an org with out the ability to approve, while the Sales Invoice Only role will enable a user to create and approve invoices or quotes without access to purchases, and similarly the Invoice Only Purchases role will allow a user to create and approve Purchase transactions without access to Sales.
To better understand the ask in this idea can you share exactly the type of set up you would be looking to achieve to help with entering information in your organisation.

New Invoicing - Move Save button to bottom of invoice like classic
Please move the SAVE for the New invoicing to the bottom as per old invoicing. When you have an invoice with 30-50 items and then have to scroll back up to save it adds to the pressure of getting things done.
Or Better still
Leave the old there until you've got it together and your Paid subscribers are happy.
We are seriously looking at moving away from XERO due to all the changes you impose on us without proper UAT. Contacts - Bulk Archive option if inactive for an extended time
Bulk archive option for any contact either supplier and customer with no activity after 2 years or at least being able to run a report for the same inactivity (Smart list does not offer the options needed)
