    We understand why this idea is quickly gaining traction. Being able to start typing in the search bar as soon as the contacts page loads would be a small but meaningful improvement.

    Right now, the cursor doesn’t land in the search bar by default, so it’s an extra click each time.

    This idea's now in the Gaining Support stage. If it’s something that would make a difference to your workflow, adding your vote or comment helps us understand the wider demand—and gives our product team more to work with when prioritising updates.

  2. Add the 'Upload bills' feature as a widget on the Dashboard, for convenience.
    At present you have to navigate to 'Bills to pay', then from the 'New bill' dropdown, select 'Upload bills'. It's a great time saving feature, but seems tucked away, and would be great if right from the dashboard I could just drop bills, and invoices, ready to process later.

    Hi team, pleased to share that this is a feature that will be coming with the new Xero Homepage! Once released it will be an option available from the bill drop down within the Bills to pay widget 😊. I'll round back to share as it becomes available in orgs.

  3. When you change an employees address on xero, it changes the address on all previous payslips to the new address it should be the address the employee was living at when the payslip was sent

  4. I would like the option to remove the 'set up online payments' box whenever I create a new invoice. For companies like ours who are never going to use this function, it's irrelevant and takes up unnecessary space (we use invoice finance and our clients don't pay us directly). Could there be a toggle button in the settings to be able to switch this off?

  5. Your new "Make Payment" button and the Action column can not be removed/disabled in the Bills view. It is repetitive, distracting, and disruptive to my normal workflow.

    I would appreciate it if Xero did not diminish my user experience as a paying customer in order to promote a new service it is offering.

    They did thoroughly consider how and where this prompt was shown in the product, and I want to be open that we don't have any plans for enabling the ability to hide the Make Payments option from this screen.

  6. When reconciling transactions and Find & Match is used, usually for multiple matches, please add an attachment button.
    In the example of one payment matched to multiple sales invoices, there is usually a remittance provided by the client that we need to file with the payment.
    We shouldn't need to go back to a reconciled transaction and manually add the remittance to each line individually.

  7. Dear Xero Team,

    I’d like to submit a request for an enhancement to Xero Payroll to improve the setup and management of default superannuation funds.

    Currently, when adding a default fund in Xero, there is uncertainty around what should be entered in the Member Number field. We typically process super contributions through the ATO Portal, but we would love to have the ability to do this directly within Xero.

    Specifically, we would like the ability to:

    Add a Default Fund chosen by the employer.

    Assign employees who do not have an existing super fund to this default fund.

  8. In the Classic Invoicing, we could set a negative item amount which was useful to make it clear to clients that we had refunded something. It also corrected the stock levels in the inventory. In new Invoicing, you can set a negative financial amount but you are not allowed negative quantities, as such it is not clear and it messes up the stock inventory levels. You can do it via credit notes but this requires more things to be issued to clients etc.

  9. In the Bills section under- New Bill and Upload Bill you cannot currently drag and drop the file from an email into the box. You either have to email or download the file would be time saving if you could just drag and drop straight from email into the new bill box.

  12. Option to apply variable stripe surcharge automatically to invoices where customers pay by credit card. Currently you can apply a set surcharge within invoice settings (for most credit cards this is 1.5% and we absorb the 20p per transaction fee). However the surcharge for international cards and premium cards is much higher. There should be the capability to charge the customer the actual amount paid in fees based on credit card used.

  13. It would be great if Xero could automatically do the transfer between Xero bank accounts.
    This is our most time consuming and often error-prone coding in Xero when it should be a simple fix. Many clients still battle with this.

  14. We bulk upload invoices in advance with "Draft" invoice numbers as we don't know their ultimate sequence for issue. We then assign a chronological invoice number when the invoice is approved and/or saved. In "Classic" invoicing, if I delete the invoice number it automatically assigned the next number in sequence e.g. #INV-0089, however in "New" invoicing if I delete the invoice number is warns me that I need a number and reverts to the original "Draft" number" and not the next chronological number in sequence.     Hi team, we appreciate the added feedback from you on the behaviours from classic that you'd find useful in new invoicing. The invoice number assignment is still a feature that our teams are continuing to monitor closely. Right now, while we don’t have plans for changing the way invoice numbers are assigned, our product teams are considering future improvements - As part of this they are doing some discovery that we’d love to get your contribution to.

  15. Currently, employees cannot add allowances to their timesheet if they are setup as fixed amounts (i.e - nightshift allowance where an employee works at night)

    An employee should have the capability of adding the allowances they are entitled to where appropriate. The approver would then review before approving.

  17. Invoice Only User SHOULD have access to "send and print" feature once the Purchase Order were approved. To address this concern, a user should have an access level of Invoice Only + Purchases, however, changing the permission to this level, the inputs made by other users, which might be confidential and unnecessarily to be seen by others, are compromised. I would like to request to add this feature (send and print) for the Invoice Only users.

    We appreciate you taking the time to share and support this idea. We can see that this idea is already gaining traction amongst the community. Giving Invoice Only users the ability to send or print approved invoices has the potential to simplify your workflow and make day-to-day tasks more efficient.

    Enabling this functionality would allow the same users who create and approve invoices to also send or print them, reducing handovers and helping your business operate more smoothly. It’s a great example of how a small change can lead to better team autonomy.

    Currently, this action is available to users with Standard, Advisor, or Invoice Only – Approve & Pay roles. Expanding this to other Invoice Only roles, such as Draft, Sales, or Purchases could make Xero even more flexible for teams with clearly defined responsibilities.

  18. Please bring back the search button in the top menu when windows are reduced size.

    It has been replaced by the AI button, which is frankly not very useful. Search is used constantly.

    Changes like this make Xero decreasingly viable for our employees to use on a laptop.

    Hi team, appreciate your feedback on the new navigation and though we don't have any immediate plans around changing the placement of global search we'll continue to track the interest for this here.

    While not exactly the solution you're after, to save you clicks you could instead use your key board to type '/' which'll automatically open search for you 😊

  19. Once an employees timesheet has been processed and approved it would be handy to be able to print the completed timesheet off for filing away as a hard copy.

    At the moment you have to process and approve the timesheet which automatically takes you back to the list of timesheets to be approved/already completed only to have to turn around at open the same one back up and select the 3 dots at the top as have shown to print the whole page which is incredibly frustrating. Can we please look into having a print option??

  20. It would be great to have a Direct Debit flag on the Bills area. Especially on the ones waiting payment.
    That would allow us to know if a bill that is waiting payment is Direct Debit and we don't need to act, just wait to reconcile.
    I created a (terrible) mockup and attached it.
