UK Payroll - Export payment file in CSV format
UK Payroll: Payment file csv format
Lloyds bank doesn't accept .txt format. It would be great if we could download a csv payment file to upload the employee pays to the bank.
Hi team, we have an exciting opportunity for a few customers to meet some of our Xero team who are working hard to improve payroll for you.
You'd get a chance to tell us your honest experience with using Xero for payroll, as well as get a tour of the Xero London office!
If you're interested and are available on Monday Sept 30, 1:45 - 3:15pm, and could come meet the team at our Xero London office - Share your details with us through the form here.
We have a limited amount of spaces, but if you don't manage to get invited this round our team may reach out when our n ext opportunity arises.

Yes yes yes!! Every month I have to retype all the payment amounts. What I need is the bank payment file download options from the main part of Xero to be available in the payroll section.

It can't understand why bills payments can be exported to CSV and not payroll.
The current set up means that I currently have to have two payments providers: one that accepts CSVc only (better user interface, customer experience, bank feeds to xero, employee sending cards too) and the original provider (terrible experience all-round) who only accepts BACS files.
I want fully migrate from the original provider but I can't until payroll can be exported to CSV.

Hello Julie, keen to know more about your idea here. What other specific formats are you thinking?

Being able to download BACS and Faster Payments files in other formats - only format available at the moment is Standard 18 format, which for example Barclays.net does not accept.

RBS require an identifier for each person on the file and Xero doesn't support this.

It would be great to give more payment options to pay employees.
The file generation for payruns only gives 2 options for pay.
but generating purchase bills gives 4 options to which the bank might accept the payment file.
Our bank santander will accept a payment file for batch payments but it won’t accept the limited files for pay runs??. -

Hi, Is anyone having the problem of not being able to upload a faster payments file to Danske bank / District created by Xero? I'm being told from Xero that the file it generates is a standard 18 Format. However, Danske does not accept this type and displays the message ( rejected by bank ) when uploading. Does anyone know a workaround for this? I have been advised by Xero not to edit the file as this may corrupt it. Baffled as to how you can do bulk faster payments without the need to of doing them indidvidually

Santander are the same. Our accountants have advised that none of their clients are able to export files in a compatible format for any UK bank.

RBS are the same, they only accept a csv txt file but the output from Faster Payment Service is not csv! Can anyone actually use the exports as imports for any UK bank?
