Purpose: Because in some organisation, only some people can only see the information for some reports.
230 votesHi everyone, thanks for the interest in this idea.
As you can appreciate, user roles span across the entire Xero product so there’s many combinations of permissions our customers want to see us build. Specifically, our reporting product team is very much aware of the challenges with the current permission sets relating to sharing individual reports with different users and are beginning to look into how we might be able to alleviate some of these reporting challenges.
However, at this stage it’s far too early to anticipate or confirm any direction on where this discovery work will lead, but it will inform our next steps. Additionally, as I'm sure you can appreciate there are sensitivities of data access and security. Creating upgrades to user permissions will need very careful consideration. As most will be across, the reporting team are leading up to retiring older versions of Xero’s reports on 31…

Organisation setting - Ability to hide/delete the demo company
Option to hide or delete the demo company in Xero.
Purpose: Often a demo company creates confusion for users, so it’s better if they can hide/delete it.
270 votesHi everyone, the demo company provides the ability to test and trial Xero features without impacting data in your live organisation. It's especially useful when you're getting started with the product or want to see how a feature works that you haven't used before.
That said, we understand not all our customers want or need access to the demo company. We appreciate your feedback on being able to hide or remove this here, and our product team are aware of the interest and feedback surrounding this - Both from this direct thread and the previous commentary and votes from the older forum where this originated.
While we don't have immediate plans, this is an area our team are looking to review. We will update you if there is any planned changes to this, through this idea.

User Role - Restrict access to specific Settings
Ability to customise user roles to restrict some access in Xero.
Purpose: Some staff should only have limited access in Xero.
376 votesHi everyone, we appreciate all your feedback on how we could evolve roles for customers using Xero. As you can see through the ideas on the platform, there are a wide range of combinations of permissions our customers want to see us build. As user roles impact all areas of the product, there are many considerations we must factor in when assessing how to solve for majority of our customers needs.
We’re beginning to conduct research on the current landscape and how we might approach some of the most predominant needs in roles for our customers. Front footing this, the discovery of this work will be long winded and there will be multiple phases of research and forms of engagement with users that’ll help shape the path ahead in this space.
We’d like to invite you, our community to be part of this research and discovery. This may involve interviews… -

We'll move the status back to submitted and keep you informed if there is any movement.

Files - Bulk export/print attached files
Ability to export and print files from Xero in bulk.
Purpose: To have backup files and audit purposes.
598 votesThanks for your expressions and feedback in a bulk download or print facility for Files (either from the Files library or at an individual transaction level)
We know that bulk operations can be handy, however at this time we have no plans to develop this functionality. We know it might seem like a small feat, however often even small change is more tightly woven and intricate to solve beneath the surface.
While we understand this must be frustrating to hear, we’re currently focused on making improvements in other areas of Xero and are unable to prioritise a bulk download or print feature right now.
However, in situations like these there are often connected apps through the Xero App Store that may be able to assist. We appreciate and will revise solutions that could fulfil needs in this space, but want to be honest this isn’t something we have plans for… -

We have recently released a new send modal with new invoicing - with this update you now have the ability to cc and Bcc emails when sending individual invoices from Xero with new invoicing.
While it's not possible to set default cc and Bcc email at the email template level at present this may be something we look into further down the line and we will keep you updated of any planned improvements through this idea.
For the time being, if there are other people for a contact that you'd like to ensure also receive emails you can add them as additional people to the Contact record and select to 'Include this person in emails sent to this contact'
On the other hand, if you'd like to ensure…

To have the ability to add additional currencies that are not on the standard list.
Purpose: Business accept payments in Bitcoin and have no way to add that to the currency list. This would allow the ability to calculate tax, profit, and loss from the currency/cryptocurrency that the business is using.
115 votesHello I am the product manager for the group within Xero which looks after the currency capability.
I follow the digital currency space closely, I find it incredibly interesting both sociologically as well as technically. However as a product manager my role is to ensure that my engineering group works on the things that create the most value, for the most people, and in alignment with the company's long term goals and aspirations.
Digital currencies continue to have an extremely passionate, but also extremely small group of users who want to see them handled in Xero. The cost remains very high for us to deliver this feature, and does not make a difference to enough peoples lives to justify that investment. There are a lot more touchpoints than many people appreciate to implement crypto properly. Huge decimal precision, UX, currency rate feeds, revaluation logic, reporting - all need changes to…

43 votesHi community, as many will have seen in our updates about new invoicing we’ve been releasing many improvements to the new experience including keyboard shortcuts that will also interest many in the idea here.
At the end of 2024, we made an update so all date entry shortcuts will now also work within new invoicing. Along with this and listening closely to our customers feedback, we’ve most recently delivered some new keyboard shortcuts specifically for new invoicing. These shortcuts help users quickly perform common actions while invoicing to save the need of using your mouse and clicking around. Shortcuts include things like; different options when Approving or updating your invoice, being able to Preview, or Print your invoice, through to sending your invoice to a customer. You can view the full list of shortcuts that can be used in Windows and Mac, as well as all other shortcuts available across…
