  1. Have the option to accrue leave on other pay items. ie. Saturday rate has to be set up with its own rate per employee as each employee is on their own rate for Saturday and isn't a "mutplication of the ordinary rate". This also needs leave to accrue on it.
    Spoken to Xero adviser and they don't have a set up for this yet.

  2. New Employee start date is part way through a pay week. The New pay run does not recognise the start day and calculates an entire weeks pay.
    This requires manual calculation and double check if the pay run has been recalculated. Open to errors and over payment

  3. UK Payroll- Access to a communal time off calendar for all employees.
    As a smaller business we try to have one employee off at a time where possible- it would be hugely useful if they could access a shared leave calendar in the same place as they request leave & submit timesheets from. This would pull data from my admin overview calendar and stop me having to create external calendar in iOS and another in android which leads to missing data etc and wasted holiday requests.   4. It would be great if we could pay our employees similar to how we can process a batch payment in XERO for bills. At the moment I am having to go into the bank account at the end and pay each employee individually.

    Is there another way to do this ? I may be missing something.

  6. Weekly Payroll calendars and get paid monthly.

    It would be advantageous if timesheets can be submitted daily and approved daily.
    Reason: approved cannot remember hours staff worked last 30 days. approver has to make a note of hours and then refer to notes when approving timesheets submitted.

  7. According to different awards Time off in Lieu is suppose to expire in 6 months time if not used. Currently you can only bank and take Time off in Lieu. It would be great if Xero could automatically expire hours not used as this is a common practice in many employee Awards.

When entering information on time sheets for employees, the ability to hit "next" to move onto the next employee once you have approved the time sheet rather than having to go back out to the main timesheet menu, find the appropriate timesheet on the drop down list & go back in to enter the timesheet for the next employee.

  9. We want to be able to open and complete the employees draft timesheet, if it has already been started. We have enough to do without starting again from scratch what the employee may have already done but just not clicked the submit button.

    It is idiotic that, as the owner and payroll manager, that we cannot see an employee's draft timesheets.

    As the business owner and Payroll Admin, we should:

    • not have compromise our recordkeeping by putting hours directly into the pay slip.
    • not have to rely on our employees being available to correct the timesheet at…

  10. Give the ability to set a percentage (i.e) 50% on an employees bank account when paying across more than one bank.
    I have an employee who always splits her pay equally between 2 bank accounts, however she is a commission paid rep and therefore each pay amount is different. So the current function is no use to me- which allows a $$ amount to be set only. This is fine for set salaried employees but not for commissioned sales reps.

  11. When Bank or Superannuation details are changed for an employee, Xero sends an alert to the Admin/Account owner of the account. The employee details who have changed should also be sent an email alert.

  12. Payroll:

    Allow changes to employees' regular earnings details even when a draft pay run is in progress. If an employee's rate needs to be changed, they should be unticked or deselected in the draft pay run.

    Currently, the entire pay run needs to be deleted, even if only one out of fifty employees needs a rate change, doubling the time spent on preparing the pay run. All calculations for overtime, leave, reimbursements, and deductions will need to be redone.

    Hopefully, this can be considered.

  13. In Sage, we used to be able to run a report that allowed us to export all our employees hourly rates, so yearly pay rises were easy to plan from.
    There isn't a way to do this in Xero - so my suggestion is to have a payroll report, similar to the employee details report, that allows you to see all employees hourly rates.

  14. UK Payroll: Leave / Sick Days
    Xero payroll nearly always miscalculates sick pay and absence deductions if staff are paid an annual salary for two reasons;
    1) It works on average number of days in a month when month vary in working days every month and recalculates an inaccurate hourly rate from which it deducts absence (sometimes this is in favour of the employee but more commonly isn't) meaning that it often deducts too much from them and has to be manually recalculated.
    2) It does not have the capability to deal with part-timers so if you have someone who…

    Hi everyone, I wanted to confirm with the release of working patterns this is now possible 😊

    Working pattern templates create default work schedules for employees to ensure they are paid and accrue leave correctly, as part of their salary and wages settings.

    You can now; 

    • Create or select from working pattern templates
    • Add working patterns manually or using the template
    • Setup multiple weeks of a working pattern

    Thanks for starting this idea! Did you see last week that our Product Team released an update that helps speed things up on Xero Me Mobile? They’ve enabled the ability to copy previous time entries in start-end timesheets on a per day basis. To do this, enter your time entries as usual for the first day in your timesheet, and then select the “copy from [date]” option when adding a new time entry for a consecutive day.
    The team are interested in further exploring improvements in this area, but at this stage there are no firm plans to progress this idea. They’ve got their eyes on the ground though - closely monitoring your ideas, votes and comments.

  17. One of my clients has hundreds of employees and at present when processing an unscheduled pay run, I have to keep clicking through the pages to find the employee. It would be so much quicker to be able to search for an employee within the Draft Payrun to then select to add.

  20. Moving employees from Part-time to causal or visa versa without deleting them!

    The Solve: Just have a date range/calendar within their employee info for what classification of employee they are during that date range.
    Transitioning employees causes undue messiness of information, which is counter to the point of the software. You have 2 employees that are the same person. Which also counts towards how many employees a business has for xero pricing purposes.
