Bank Reconciliation - Improve date recognition for auto-suggestion
Reconciliation - when you have multiple payments of the same amounts over several days... Always selects the Invoice to the newest payment.. even tho the invoice date is the same as the first payment? seem like the system allocates backwards?.. We get lots of the same payments and Invoice totals and we have to always manually select/search for the invoice as the Auto reconciliation seems to not factor in Invoice date to Payment date as an option.

Invoicing: Set invoice reminders by invoice branding template
Ability to turn off invoice reminders based on the invoice branding template.
This would mean we can prevent invoice reminders being sent to customers who have payments scheduled via direct debit.
26 votesThanks for sharing with us here, everyone. We appreciate there are many improvements our customers would like to see to improve their workflows for setting up invoice themes for their customers. We do have a product team that have been focused on improvements to simplify and enhance the look of branding applied to your invoices. Being upfront this doesn't stretch to adding invoice reminders at the branding theme level for the time being.
We're continuing to watch and stay tuned to the ideas we have around this in our community and if there are any changes to share we'll post an update for you all, here.

Email Settings - Specify date/time to send transactions
Ability to specify date/time when users’ want to send emails from Xero.
Purpose: So clients/customers can receive the email during the working hours and not at random time.
652 votesHey everyone, we've seen all your votes and comments, and we totally get it – not being able to schedule one-off invoices or pick specific send times is a real pain point. Your feedback makes it clear how much time it costs you and how it can affect your client relationships.
Right now, repeat invoice templates go some way to providing some automation. But we know that's not quite what you're asking for when it comes to those one-off invoices or more precise timing for all your emails.
The good news is, our product team is digging in to the work that'd be needed to develop a solution, and figuring out the best way to make this happen. While we can't give any promises just yet, please know that your feedback is a huge part of this discovery process. Keep those comments and votes coming!
We'll post another update here…

Expenses: Set default due date
Can we please have the ability to set a due date for an expense? Currently it is set as the day it is approved, but we pay all our expenses for the whole month, on the 15th of the following month. It would be good to be able to set this as default for any expenses raised.
Thanks,

Invoices - Default due date set regardless of an integration upload
Default invoice due date / contact due date can be set when integrated with other products that fed the invoices in. Currently it is overriden with due date from integrated system
Setting due date so we can clearly see what is overdue is an excellent feature and would help significantly with accounts

Bills - View bills awaiting payment without a planned payment date
Ability to easily see which bills have not been scheduled for payment.
There are tabs for each date that payments have been scheduled. An "unscheduled" tab would be useful, showing bills awaiting payment without a planned payment date.
Will save users time having to sort the bills by planned date to see which ones need scheduling.
50 votesHi Tina, just thinking in lieu of this feature atm - To help get a view of bills that don't have an assigned planned date you can click the Planned date header to sort all bills by planned date and this will also group all bills with no planned date. 🙂

Organisation settings - Ability to wind back/restore to a previous date
Ability to restore Xero org to previous date.
Purpose: To make customers able to get the previous data from the previous date if they made mistakes in their Xero org.
73 votesHi everyone, with the recent changes in Xero Product ideas, we will shift this idea to Not in pipeline to set the expectation here.
While a direct option to restore or unwind an organisation to a previous date in time isn't in our plans, as previously mentioned to confirm - Xero performs daily backups of customer data to protect against data corruption and hosting service failures. However, these backups are not available for users to restore their organisation to a previous state.
To reiterate from my last response, most actions in Xero are reversible (for example Remove & Redo on bank transactions) and our help article on Xero Central explains some of these options that can help with needs expressed in this conversation.
The History & Notes report can be highly useful to review actions recently made so you can 'undo' these.

Invoice Reminders Report - Date and email sent to
Provide a report on who the automated invoice reminders have been sent out to, to know when the final reminder has gone out and payments not made can then be chased manually.

Reporting - Aged Receivables Reports - run as at one date, and view the amount still outstanding at another date
Within the debtors and creditors reports (either detailed or summary) the ability to show balances as of todays date when working on client's system up to 9 months later, would be handy to see which debtors and creditors are still outstanding.
I.e. client has £100k debtors as at their year end 31/3/22, but when we run report on say 31/7/22, how many of that £100k is still outstanding? To have a toggle to the balance at the report date (31/3/22) or the current date would help,35 votesHi everyone, thanks for showing your interest here. With the newer Aged Detail reports, you can achieve this by;
- Setting the date of the report to the date you want to include payments up to
- Click Filter
- Set an Invoice Date filter as 'any' - 'invoices raised up to date'
If this is something you'll commonly run you may want to save the report as custom so you can easily open the report anytime. You'll just want to remember to adjust the filter for the Invoice Date. 🙂

New invoicing - Separate edit and copy options
The relocation of ‘edit’ on the drop down feature of options within invoicing.
Reason being, it is far too close to ‘copy’ and on a couple of occasions whilst invoicing I have selected ’edit’ rather than ‘copy’ which has caused some cash flow issues and time explaining to clients where the issue has arisen.
By simply separating them on the drop down would eliminate the accidental selection. Once selecting ‘edit’ or ‘copy’ the only difference is once changes invoice number and the other doesn’t.

Invoice - Include the payment dates and payments made when sending invoices to clients.
Include the payment dates and payments made when sending invoices to clients.
Currently once the invoice is downloaded or sent to client, it shows the total amount paid, but not broken down by date as per the screen shot i have attached. Currently it only shows «InvoiceTotalNetPayments»30 votes -
New invoicing - View Item Code and Tracking columns on saved invoice
Unless I'm missing something, I can't seem to see the Item Code or Tracking Code fields on a saved invoice? They are there in Edit mode, but not when viewing a saved invoice? We don't need to include these columns on the invoice sent to clients, but do need to be able to see them for internal use without having to go into edit mode. Until we can do this, we won't be able to switch to the new invoicing.
5 votesHi team, apologies we haven't updated this idea sooner. Our product team made a change to the approved grid view a fem months ago, where now you'll see Item code and Tracking as separate columns once the invoice is approved to make it easier to review your information. We appreciate your feedback here and sharing through product ideas.

New Invoicing - Reduce screen clutter
Please reduce the amount of screen clutter. Example shown. This is pointless information and not needed. It interferes with the flow of the already terrible new invoicing. There should be an option to hide this.
1 voteHi Claire — thanks for sharing your feedback on New Invoicing and highlighting areas and onscreen information that feels more prominent than needed✨Our customer's experiences are very important to us and we will pass this onto our Product team so we can accurately reflect our customer's ongoing feedback.

New Invoicing - Option to leave Discount field on or off permanently
A function that was used 100% of the time in classic invoicing
2 votesHi Amy, although discount column may not be visible when you first use new invoicing, you can use the Show/hide fields option to choose which fields and columns are displayed - including Discount, and Save your preferences.
Next time you create an invoice for a customer using new invoicing you'll see your field preferences from the last invoice should be in the new one.

New invoicing - Hide Tax Rate column
In New Invoicing we can now hide the tax amount column. As this is for organisations that are not registered for tax, the Tax Rate column is also redundant so would it be possible to hide that too? We are set up as No VAT Scheme so both these columns just get in the way and it seems odd that we can mask one but not the other when you only ever need both or neither.
While we're at it, could we do the same in Billing?
Thanks

Bills - Assign planned date when entering bill
Please add the option to assign a planned payment date when entering bills / within the individual bill, not just from the overview tabs.
24 votesHi team, we appreciate the interest in being able to add a planned date when entering a bill in Xero. While this isn't in our immediate plans our team are aware and keeping a close eye of the support for this idea.
While this isn't currently possible when manually entering bills I wanted to highlight our new Quick view and edit feature - If you upload or email bills to create drafts in your organisation you'll find you can use the quick view option to easily add a planned date.
If you don't have the edit option in your bills just yet, this feature is in the process of rolling out and should be with all customers soon. 😊

New Invoicing - History to include if invoice is resent
When an amendment is made and the invoice resent it needs to record who it has been sent to
384 votesHi everyone, we want to share that we've released a change to history for each time an invoice is sent.
Invoice history will now show the primary recipient email whenever an invoice is sent. This includes the initial and any subsequent send of an invoice.
We appreciate this has been a pain point for everyone that's joined in the idea here and hope this visibility improves your experience in invoicing.
We'd like to confirm how this works;
- This record is only applicable from here on in, there are no updates to any historical entries for sending.
- History will show the email of the initial recipient entered in the 'To' field any emails that you include as a CC or BCC option will not be shown.
We do want to highlight, that while the email will be recorded in majority of cases, there are a few scenarios our team have picked…

Sales - Calculate based on expected date and show totals like bills
Sales planned date like in bills to pay so we can select date invoice should be paid to us. Will help with overdue invoices and planning cash flow
5 votesHi Claire, you can add an expected payment date from the Awaiting payments list in Sales. Appreciate it's not quite possible from the individual invoice itself atm so have slightly updated the title of your idea here. If there's any plans of adding this here we'll let you know.

Invoicing | Contact - Default address based on GPS
Hi,
My business often delivers the same or similar services to repeat customers. It would be useful if Xero could default the contact address based on GPS Location, and then even propose default invoice items and pricing to make the invoicing process easier. This reduces the risk of invoicing mistakes and adds efficiency into the process for invoice creation. Also helps with contact payment process improvement.1 voteHey Nathan, thanks for sharing this idea. Using GPS to automatically fill in a contact’s address would save you time and make invoicing on the go much smoother.
It’s a smart way to reduce manual entry and help keep addresses accurate.
This feature is now in Gaining Support. If you think it’d be useful, please add your vote or comment. Hearing from all of you helps our product team understand what matters most.
Keep an eye on this thread for any updates.
