  1. You've finally forced us into the new invoicing. Lots of promises were made to fix what was broken with it. Unfortunately these promises are just as broken as the new invoicing. Here's what needs fixed:

    1. When a new invoice comes up automatically set the focus to the name field so it's ready to receive data. Have to click on it.

    2. Fix the date field. If I use the down arrow key it opens up the date widget But then using the left and right arrow keys should move the date off of the current date to either tomorrow…

    Thanks for your feedback, Randall. I want to assure you we're still working on features and improvements within new invoicing.

    In order for others in community to know what they're voting for and help our product teams get understanding of the specific changes our customers would like to see it's best that these are tracked separately on product ideas site. There are existing ideas for some of the points you've raised here.

    Relating to your point on the date field - I'd recommend connecting with our specialists to confirm the behaviour that you're getting and the specific date field this is related to. Once you press enter or space after opening the calendar widget you should be able to use your keyboard arrow keys to navigate the calendar.

  2. Ability to convert quotes into invoice & the remaining amount of invoices.

    Purpose: Because it helps users invoicing workflow as they often have to keep a separate record of deposits sent / paid and manually calculate the remaining amount to invoice on completion of a project

  3. QR Code on Invoice that goes to same web location as the 'View your Bill Online' link on Invoices.

    Currently, a Xero Invoice can have a link displayed for easy/direct payment by customer.

    I would like to see the option to include a QR Code, embeded within the EMAIL sent to customers, and on the PDF attached to the Email, that translates to the same link, allowing for easy payment of printed invoices at time of delivery.

    Great for 1st time customers, Pay on Delivery or COD customers.

  5. Ability to create and print a collection letter for outstanding invoices.

    Purpose: To make users can easily remind the customers that they still have outstanding invoices.

    Hi community, thought I’d pop in here to share that this is possible through the following steps:

    1. Create a separate DOCX branding theme which includes your letter of demand as a separate page in the Word template.
    2. Edit the relevant invoice that requires this letter, and switch it to this theme.
    3. Resend the invoice, and it’ll include the letter.
  6. We raise an invoice to a client.
    They pay it.
    Then for some reason, something changes.
    We need to raise a credit note against that invoice!

    I know I can create a new one from scratch but I want the history with this particular invoice and all the other details that I have already typed into it.

    What I DON'T want - is to delete the payment, create the credit note, delete the allocation of the credit to the invoice, then reapply the original payment.

    It is not an option within Xero to 'copy to draft' and create a negative…

  7. It would be nice when entering transactions, for the date field to remain as the last entered date, at least while staying on the transaction page. It is frustrating having to enter the date each and every time when entering transactions. I understand a lot of people are working in there, in real time, and that it is beneficial that the date is always "todays" date, however, when entering stuff for a client from the previous month, this gets annoying.

  9. There are new options now under 'Approve' on the new Sales Invoice. The majority of my invoices are created post-purchase, so I create the invoice, approve the invoice, then usually need to go back to the Invoices overview. I want to see added 'Approve and return' or 'Approve and close'. Currently it takes me three clicks to get back to the invoices, because I need to click on Approve, then 'Invoices' from the breadcrumb, then to 'All' since it defaults back to Awaiting Payment. (Why doesn't clicking 'Invoices' from the breadcrumb take you back to the All tab?? Surely that…

    Hi Trudi, while the Business menu option I mentioned in my last update remains the best flow for what you're after here currently.

    I thought it may be useful to share that we've recently released some keyboard shortcuts for common actions in new invoicing that may help improve your efficiency when invoicing. Our product team have added small prompts to highlight these in the product while our customers familiarise, and if you’d like to view the full list of options you can see them all on Xero Central

    We'll continue to track the interest in an approve & close option here, and share if there are any changes planned that may impact this.

  10. New Invoicing. I see we got the ability to mark as sent when printing, which is great and fixes one of many defects which made me go back to classic a year ago. But the prompt that appears is bizzare and confusing. Classic always had "mark as sent" or "leave as it is" ... however new has "mark as sent" or "Canel" - which implies cancel the print job - except it doesn't (the x does this)... So on one hand a user if confused by cancel if they want to print without marking as sent, and 2 if…

    Hi Yumei, a few different bulk requests in the one here. 

    In terms of branding themes when you say you'd want to bulk update branding would this be detail within your branding themes, or the branding applied to invoices in Xero? If the latter, perhaps you'd find setting a default from your Contacts record a useful way to edit this? 

    We try to keep individual ideas separate so our product teams can get a good understanding of exactly is being asked, and others in community know what they're voting for.

  12. Feedback on the Updated Email Invoice Template: Prioritising Client Experience Over Financial Details

    As a business owner wholly committed to providing exceptional customer service, I've encountered significant issues with the new email invoice template that I believe warrant urgent attention from the Product Team.

    1. Focus on Experience, Not Payments: Our aim is to immerse our clients in a seamless service experience. By prominently featuring payment details in the email, it inadvertently shifts the client's focus from the quality of service to financial transactions. Clients should have the option to review detailed financials at their discretion by accessing the invoice themselves.

  13. We use many xero accounts, and for two of them, when accessing the invoice link, the invoice appears first, followed by a "PayNow" card payment option in the top left corner. However, for the other two accounts, the card payment window appears first without the invoice, which causes inconvenience to customers. (Of course, there is a download option at the bottom right.) Please change the settings to make the invoice appear first.The specialist can't fix this, and the different output seems to be a xero system issue. Please fix it soon.

    Hi everyone, within Email Settings you can edit the email template and deselect 'Include action to online invoice and detail summary'. This will strip back the look of the email a bit but this means the pay now, or Review and pay link will stop showing and instead you can just include the link to view the online invoice for your customers.

  14. Hi, the new version of invoicing will increase my work load. at present when you open an invoice to approve it, it is easy to select the tracking categories, as it is linked to the client profile. in the new version it does not and you have to go through the list in a drop down!

    Also we have an issue when we change the invoice date. for example and Invoice raised on the 5th Feb should be paid on the 6th March. If we change the invoice date from the 5th to the 4th, it does not change the…

    Thanks for your feedback on the idea here, with the way new invoicing works once you add a contact, any sales defaults saved for that contact in their record will be applied. 

    Adding a Qty or Price for a line will trigger Tracking defaults saved for them to be automatically applied. Similarly this applies to the any default saved for Due Date. If you have saved a due date that is driven by the invoice Issue date you should see this update if you change the Issue date on the invoice. 

    If this is not behaviour that you're experiencing please do raise a case with our team of specialists so we can take a closer look into this with you. 

  15. Please could you add the ability to select on the customer contact card if invoices are sent by e-invoice or not. Some customers prefer e-invoices, and some are not set up for e-invoices.

    Hi everyone, i can confirm that '+ Last items' is available when you add a contact in new invoicing and is shown beneath the contact name. The items added will be for the last invoice that was approved for that contact.

    The only exception here is if you have the Invoice only Draft role in which case this feature is not available.

    We're looking at slight improvement to where this is placed on the invoice to make it more noticeable. However, if you have the right permissions and still aren't seeing this option where you'd expect it to appear when invoicing, please raise a case with our team of specialists who have tools to get a closer look and see why this option mightn't be appearing for you.   18. Reference column in the Allocate Credit to Invoice view.

    Purpose: To save user's having to open the credit note to see what invoice to apply the credit to.

  19. Currently one can only post 50 lines in an invoice. It should be unlimited as some clients have at least 200 lines or more depending on their line of business.

  20. Re: New Invoicing - Reduce Number of steps and clicks (The original thread has had comments turned off, so I can't comment that it has made more steps, not less...)

    What has happened here...it is now taking eight tab clicks to get from Reference Number to the first box to input the item code...last week it was six...so the number of click has increased, not decreased.

    Also, when inputting an item code, I have multiple codes that have the same base code with different suffixes...is there are way to just get it to the shaded part that you select the…
