  1. We use many xero accounts, and for two of them, when accessing the invoice link, the invoice appears first, followed by a "PayNow" card payment option in the top left corner. However, for the other two accounts, the card payment window appears first without the invoice, which causes inconvenience to customers. (Of course, there is a download option at the bottom right.) Please change the settings to make the invoice appear first.The specialist can't fix this, and the different output seems to be a xero system issue. Please fix it soon.

    Hi everyone, within Email Settings you can edit the email template and deselect 'Include action to online invoice and detail summary'. This will strip back the look of the email a bit but this means the pay now, or Review and pay link will stop showing and instead you can just include the link to view the online invoice for your customers.

  2. When importing bulk invoices, have the ability to upload discounts as a dollar amount and not as a %.

  3. We would like to see customers contact person's name appearing on the invoice we send. One customer can have different people/contacts for different projects/invoices. Currently we can only pull out the PRIMARY contact's name to the invoice, which means if we would like to add a different name, we have to REMERMBER to edit customer's primary contact to a different person. It is very time consuming and easy to forget too.
    Is there any ways we could simply add a contact person against each invoice instead of against each customer? It could be any extra fields we can use, even…

  4. Thank you for delivering to keep the existing contact when copying an invoice. Now when you email the invoice the email address is not populated from the contact file. You have to go and look it up to send the copied invoice.

    Please refer to the contact details and pre-populate their contact email addresses.

    Sorry Lynne, It's a bit hard to troubleshoot and get the detail to understand why your contacts details like email aren't coming through to your copied invoice. I've just tested this with Draft and approved invoices being copied and the email of the contact was bought through each time as expected. I'd recommend raising this with our specialist through the Contact Xero Support option in Xero Central for closer inspection.


    Thanks for also checking on this, Olga - that message on defaults application is related to the Sales defaults saved against inventory items or the contacts record but doesn't apply to the contacts personal details. These should be applied when copying an invoice.

    To explain a little more - The reason defaults aren't automatically applied is because the line item fields will be prefilled with the information from the existing invoice that the new one is copied from.

  6. Regarding the Invoice interface on the Sent Column, perhaps can Xero make it into two instead? One is for the Validated E-Invoicing & the other one is for customer. The reason is now, when we send to MyInvoice, every thing has become "viewed" instead. So now I don't know whether my customer did view or not.

    I also suggest the MyInvoice under the Sent column, once the e-invoice validated, can it changed to "validated" instead of "viewed"? Like that we do not need to open another tab at the History and Notes to look up for it.

  7. Please keep the current feature of adding item codes to billable expenses so that the preset charge out rate and account pulls through. In the new system adding an item code wipes out the billable expense.

    Hi community, thanks for sharing back with us on the flow through of information for Billable expenses.

    Our product team have implemented a change, and you should now find that when you add a billable expense related to an inventory item, and select to add the items to your invoice the item code will be shown.

    If you're finding this is not the case for you it would be best for our Xero Support specialists to take a closer look at things with you 1-1 - you can touch base with them through Xero Central.

  8. When a sales invoice is created, there should be a place where i can see what is the gross profit. If not, I would have to go back and forth between the inventory module and the sales invoice module to maunally calculate.

  9. Hi Xero Team,

    I’d love to suggest a feature that would really improve efficiency when invoicing clients with recurring or frequent billing.

    In QuickBooks, when selecting a contact on an invoice, it would show a quick reference of that client’s last 5 invoice amounts. This helped a lot with ensuring consistency in recurring invoices, especially when amounts vary slightly month-to-month.

    In Xero, the “Add Last Item” toggle doesn’t quite solve this, since many clients have more than one invoice per month — so it may not reflect the most relevant or recent invoice for the context.

  10. The ability to add the clients credit limit that they have been approved for, as well as how much of the credit limit that they have used on the invoice email template as well as the statement email template. See attachment for example.

    Hi everyone, i can confirm that '+ Last items' is available when you add a contact in new invoicing and is shown beneath the contact name. The items added will be for the last invoice that was approved for that contact.

    The only exception here is if you have the Invoice only Draft role in which case this feature is not available.

    We're looking at slight improvement to where this is placed on the invoice to make it more noticeable. However, if you have the right permissions and still aren't seeing this option where you'd expect it to appear when invoicing, please raise a case with our team of specialists who have tools to get a closer look and see why this option mightn't be appearing for you.   13. Invoices cannot be sent multiple times by e-invoicing - any invoice that was sent by e-invoicing can only be sent again after that by email. This is fine; that ensures that my customers don't have a billion copies of the same invoice in their drafts.

    However, this is also true of invoices where sending by e-invoicing failed and the customer has not received the invoice at all.

  15. There are new options now under 'Approve' on the new Sales Invoice. The majority of my invoices are created post-purchase, so I create the invoice, approve the invoice, then usually need to go back to the Invoices overview. I want to see added 'Approve and return' or 'Approve and close'. Currently it takes me three clicks to get back to the invoices, because I need to click on Approve, then 'Invoices' from the breadcrumb, then to 'All' since it defaults back to Awaiting Payment. (Why doesn't clicking 'Invoices' from the breadcrumb take you back to the All tab?? Surely that…

    Hi Trudi, while the Business menu option I mentioned in my last update remains the best flow for what you're after here currently.

    I thought it may be useful to share that we've recently released some keyboard shortcuts for common actions in new invoicing that may help improve your efficiency when invoicing. Our product team have added small prompts to highlight these in the product while our customers familiarise, and if you’d like to view the full list of options you can see them all on Xero Central

    We'll continue to track the interest in an approve & close option here, and share if there are any changes planned that may impact this.

  16. DISABLE EMAIL SUGGESTIONS FROM XERO

    I WANT TO REMOVE THE ABILITY FOR INVOICES TO BE SENT TO INCORRECT CLIENTS BY INADVERTANTLY SELECTING ONE OF THE (MOSTLY OUTDATED) SUGGESTIONS FROM XERO.

  18. The "Review and pay" banner misleads recipients into thinking they can make electronic payments, but we're not using e-invoicing and have it turned off. Another major issue is that it causes significant delays in loading or, in some cases, renders the invoice completely inaccessible. The banner in the new invoicing should be named "Review" rather than "Review and pay" or be editable to suit different needs.
