    Hi everyone, apologies we've not provided an update here before now. Over the past year there's been a lot of development throughout Sales, more centralised around the new invoicing experience. With the upgraded technology new invoicing is built on we've been able to begin developing the send experience, with improvements to customise and send invoices, and help you get paid faster.

    Being able to automate the send of customer statements is high on our product teams radar, however we want to be transparent that this isn't planned in the short term. As we continue to develop and uplift throughout the Sales experience this is definitely an area the team will draw closer attention to, however with lots of different projects on the go we aren't able to bring focus to this right now.

  3. A way to mark contacts as " preferred suppliers",( traffic light colours?) and a way to attach a document to this contact such as a hire agreement/ contract/ agreed rates/insurance documents etc.

    Interesting idea around being able to mark suppliers as preferred, Catherine. It'll be good to get an understanding of the interest in this here.

    In terms of contracts, you can currently upload files to a contacts record which is where you could upload any contract, hire agreements, rates etc.

  4. Under the previous Contact view, there was a book icon to show if there was an attachment to a bill. Now there is an icon to allow copy bill to draft bill. I can't imagine any time I would use this, but value being able to see if a bill has an attachment. I have to open the bill now to find if there is an attachment or go back to the Purchases section and create a report there.

  5. When reconciling bank account, then publishing it should display the bank details as setup in chart of accounts - it just just says bank reconciliation. So makes it hard to know which report is which. Once reconciled it should default to the the next date so you don't have to change dates continuously.

  6. You can only allocate payment on accounts to a customer ledger on Xero by clicking 'Overpayment' which is very long winded. Please can this be simplified to select the customer and then allocate straight as a 'payment on account' and then this can be allocated to the invoice once this is uploaded.

    In addition, if there is money out that gets contra'd against money received from a client, there is no way of coding this to the customer ledger.

  7. Instead of having to scroll through the account transactions / bank statements to get to the bottom in order to change the page number you are on. Either having this bar at the top as well or also having this bar move wiht you so you can always change the page as needed.

    Hi everyone, we've introduced a change to new invoicing so you now have the ability to copy an invoice to a draft invoice and keep the existing contact. 🙂

    When you select this option, you'll see a pop up where the current contact is selected by default, however you can choose another contact or leave this blank if you'd prefer.

  9. I'd like the Reconcile pages to allow me to select some all of my bank accounts to display. This would aggregate the unreconciled statement lines and display them all in date order to be reconciled all the same time.

    Reason 1: Convenience. I use several bank accounts and would prefer to reconcile all of the transactions in one go.

    Appreciate the feedback for the General Ledger Summary report, Kala. 

    I wanted to confirm it is possible to reorder columns within the General Ledger Details report (like my image below). Is there a specific reason you'd like this in the summary too, or does this possibly meet the needs you're after?

  14. When an expense is raised, supplier gst tax rate should override the expense item tax rate. If the supplier coded gst free purchases, then expense items should default to gst free, not the default gst tax code of the expense ite.

  15. Give the ability to set a percentage (i.e) 50% on an employees bank account when paying across more than one bank.
    I have an employee who always splits her pay equally between 2 bank accounts, however she is a commission paid rep and therefore each pay amount is different. So the current function is no use to me- which allows a $$ amount to be set only. This is fine for set salaried employees but not for commissioned sales reps.

  16. Customer Name / Customer Account number - To import invoices the main criteria for the import file is the customer's name. We work with properties where the owner details change on a regular basis and we use the account number (which is also the erf number) to process invoices. Can a it be changed to give users the option to either use the account number or name as the main criteria for the import file instead of just using the account name.

We have global sized clients who issue us with contracts that need to be set up as separate entities under the same business name. you would think that the unique reference number box would work in tandem with the primary business contact name. This is especially important when setting up repeating invoices. I currently put the business name eg: Boxspan National and add a sub heading eg: Boxspan National [Diamond Project] . Now we have been advised that we can no longer do that as their accounting software will not pull the invoice through to the correct business entity.…

  20. I am not happy with the treatment of dishonoured/reversed payments on Xero when it comes to debtors/customers (and similarly creditors/suppliers) (see attached support screenshot).

    Dishonoured payments must be processed via the accounts receivable and payable channels as is the custom on any other accounting package.

    The customer's records and statements must reflect when payments were dishonoured (true refection) and it should not be handled outside of the customer's module as Xero is currently doing (by deleting the original payment from the customer and allocating it a GL account and then allocating the dishonoured reversal to the same GL …
