  1. Using the new Contracts form, when verifying a subcontractor, you are now asked to enter the CIS Tax Rate (Gross, 20% or 30%) before you verify the subcontractor.
You cannot save and verify with HMRC unless this field is completed. Without verification, you cannot be certain as to the tax rate.

The error could occur where you choose a rate for the purpose of being able to 'save and verify'. If the verification failed and you required to speak to the contact, or in most cases wait for HMRC to add a subcontractor to the CIS scheme which is currently…

  2. If a pay increase is implemented across the board then currently, the only way to amend employees salary amount is to enter each record manually. If you have a large number of employees this is extremely time consuming.

If a salary scale was used and assigned to employee records, it could be uplifted by a percentage and all records would automatically update.

HI community, thanks for your support here. While this isn't something we have plans for extending comparatives beyond 36 periods atm, it'd be good to get more detail on the ideal # of comparatives you'd be looking to run the report for, and what this would help your business do - Please do comment to share your views.

Other options you'll see you have with the new report, is that you can change the comparative period between Day, Month, Quarter or Year.

  4. The new way of importing bank statements does not work for our company.
Can XERO allow a permanent setting to default to classic import instead of having to switch there manually every time?

  5. There used to be a feature that you could zoom into a bill that had been uploaded when putting the information into Xero ( when the bill shows at the left of the Xero page ) This has gone and now I have to keep popping bills in and out to see details. Please could it be re-instated

  6. The option to choose a date to send EE payslips would be a huge help , when you are running multiply payrolls this option would be invaluable. I may run a payroll on the 10th of the month yet payday is 30th so need to remember to log in and send payslips on the 29th. Takes a lot of time up.

  7. On the invoice template a mandatory field to be completed of the business email address. Majority on Xero invoices sent don't have an email address which makes it difficult to contact the business via email.

Thanks for the confirmation, Andrew and Sue. While it's possible to add the organisations email in the Contact details field of a Standard branding theme, and could be inserted as Static text on an Advanced template, appreciate there is no specific field for this atm, and why you may like to make this mandatory or a default on the template.

We'll leave your idea for making this mandatory here and you may like to also join this idea for providing as a specific field for this in advanced templates. Being open it's not something we have direct plans for atm, but we'll keep an eye on the interest here and share if there's any plans made.

  8. When payrun is done in Xero, the payroll payment file will be automatically sent to the bank (without authorisation). This could save the time of exporting payment files and import payment files to the bank.

Hi Sung Tak, appreciate you raising this with us however we want to be upfront that we don't have any plans around this. This process requires user input as a means of validation. If automated it could cause issues when making corrections to pay runs, or if a pay run was accidentally posted.

  9. Could we please have a flag for a terminated employee who has been paid in an unscheduled pay run (but included in the current pay run).
Xero continues to create a standard pay for the terminated employee despite the employee having been terminated.
If the employee was flagged as having been terminated it would prompt the processor to check and potentially eliminate the risk of overpayment.

Thanks for raising the idea, team.

Right now, we don't have plans for developing the ability to edit Credit Notes within the mobile Accounting app which is where functions like adding files would come in, too.

It's good to begin tracking the interest of this here, but want to be upfront with this atm.

  12. Having recently created a custom invoice template for our business I wanted to include a merge field for payment terms (e.g. "30 days form date of invoice") next to the invoice due date field. Unfortunately customer payment terms, even though a data field in the contact record, is not available to incorporate in a customer invoice template. In my opinion this would be a useful addition to the custom invoice functionality.

  13. It would be nice when entering transactions, for the date field to remain as the last entered date, at least while staying on the transaction page. It is frustrating having to enter the date each and every time when entering transactions. I understand a lot of people are working in there, in real time, and that it is beneficial that the date is always "todays" date, however, when entering stuff for a client from the previous month, this gets annoying.

  14. Currently leave requests must be approved before the relevant pay run is commenced.

If we discover that leave needs to be added at any point after the pay run is commenced, the entire pay run must be deleted, along with any progress made.

When processing payroll for businesses, I occasionally discover leave should be included only while I'm actually processing the pay run.

I'd like to have a clone of the leave creation UI as an option while within the pay run process itself. This would show leave balances for the employee, and only have an option to Approve or…

  15. When creating sales invoices in Xero, the cut away remittance slip (or "payment advice") appears at the bottom of the invoice, but if your invoice has several line items and therefore goes over one page, the remittance slip still shows on the first page and makes the invoice look disjointed.

We have played around with the custom invoice feature but because the remittance slip is in the footer of the invoice template, there doesn't seem to be a way for us to manually change this so that it only appears on the last page.

If Xero could build this feature…

  16. Xero Projects Reporting - fixed charges to be included in Charge Amount column

We use Xero Projects in our accounting practice to track time / costs for client billing. We have some clients who are on fixed monthly charges (e.g. $1,000 per month). When viewing the Xero Projects reports to track performance for the month so far, the fixed charges do not appear in the Charge Amount column. It would be beneficial if the fixed charges appears in the Charge Amount column, given they will be charged.

This allows us to forecast profit for the month more effectively. If we…

  17. The ability to set a default date range for the tax report in Xero.

Would love the option to have default to previous month. It's an annoyance to have to set the beginning and ending time each time the report is run.

  18. It would be great to be able to filter the fixed asset list by the various categories but especially by asset type.

For example, I have 500 assets and am trying to pick out just the Office Equipment to dispose of 30 assets, but I am having to search for each individual asset rather than just look at a list of the Office Equipment.

  20. Would like to add add decimals (up to 4) in the bank rule feature for the tax rates (otherwise I need to manually change all the amount of my reconciliations which is time consuming).

For instance at the moment we can input 102.15% but not 102.1451% which is what I would like to have.
