  1. PAPDIS file download to include total Gross Salary and not just the Salary with the £520 not pensionable deducted and the pension provider we use (Creative) expects this in their upload. EVery month I have to edit Gross Pensionable Pay for all employees to add the £520 on the PAPDIS CSV I download.

    Hey all 😊 You can find a breakdown of NIC thresholds in the P11 report.

    This report shows the pay period YTD per employee as well a breakdown of the different NIC thresholds.

  3. Please fix the Schedule 5 PAYG calculation to include YTD commissions and bonuses as well as ordinary earnings. This is causing issues with tax not calculating automatically because the employee's only form of income is from commissions (real estate industry) and they are forced to report it under commissions for STP Phase 2 yet the calculation things they have $0 YTD earnings.

  4. Hi Team, Im not sure if this has been raised, but can we get the ability when setting up an employee to be able to allocate a % of their salary costs between different department / cost centres. At this stage we do not have the option of splitting salary costs without having to do manual journals

  6. Have the ability to enter employer pension contributions in the opening balances when adding a new client to Xero. At present the resulting payslip is incorrect as the YTD employer pension figure only shows the current month and not YTD.

  8. This is not an idea; it is a requirement, Xero.
    At present, all pay types classified as commissions are being taxed as follows: "The method for Schedule 5 in Xero, calculates the PAYG withholding amount by averaging all additional payments made in the current financial year, over the number of pay periods in a financial year, and applying that to the average total earnings to date".

    If commissions are paid every month, they should not be taxed in this manner, as per this ATO web page which says "Do not use this schedule for payments for a single pay period".

  9. Bulk delete/mark inactive pay items. We use deputy Awards integration and every time an award is updated we have to delete/inactivate so many pay items.

  11. Please put a menu item under the Accounting Menu for Journal Entry. I don't like having to run a report just to go to manual journals or to add a new journal. Just put "New Journal" under the advanced sub menu under accounting. If you are concerned about the average bookkeeper making journal entries, allow the ability for the admin to dictate which menu items are shown for different users.

    Thanks for the confirmation, Ann - I've just updated the idea title and categories to get this showing where others might be interested too. 

    Most recently we released a new Journal report with a lot more flexibility than the older version, and should help with finding a journal you're looking for. 


    You can search for a journal by filtering the Journal report by description 😁

  14. Overtime Report by employee in one easy to read report

    Managerment required a report to analyse overtime per employee over the course of a year - in one report. Only option in Xero is to run report employee by employee. (which would be incredibly time consuming)

    A simple report would be -

    - Rows would be list of employees
    - Columns would be all the overtime categories,

    - values would be sum of hours worked (or dollar value or both)
    - parametres would be between two given dates.

    I could find no such useful report in Xero - instead I…

  16. Ability to enter a PAID Break - This would be particularly helpful in Contruction industry, where most awards provide employees with a paid tea break on OT & Weekend work. This would mean employers will meet their obligations for Start/Finish Times as well as break times.

  17. Suggest the ability to apply work patterns to part time employees. For example, we have a part time employee who works 7 hours on Mon, 6 hours on Tues and 6 hours on Wed.
    At the moment, if a Public Holiday falls on a Monday, it does not correctly work out hours worked.
    The same happens if Annual Leave is taken; incorrect hours are calculated which affects AL accruals.
    Hours worked have to be calculated and added manually.

  19. At this stage Xero doesn't recognise if an Employee is on Unpaid Leave.

    Xero's default behaviour when an employee (that is assigned to a holiday group) submits a request for a period of Unpaid Leave spanning one or more public holidays, is to exclude those Public Holidays from the calculated Unpaid Leave hours.

    This has the effect of allocating those Public Holidays as paid hours in a pay-run rather than as unpaid hours. This is not consistent with the Fair Work Act (https://www.fairwork.gov.au/employment-conditions/public-holidays/not-working-on-public-holidays)
