  1. Instead of using spreadsheets, it would be very handy for Xero to have prepayment & accruals schedules built-in that act similar to the Fixed Asset function.

For example, when you allocated a new invoice to the prepayment nominal, Xero would detect that transaction and add it to the schedule. At the end of the month, you access the Prepayment & Accruals screen, go to drafts, and fill out a form giving it the period with su[plier, start date, end date and number of days/weeks/months it lasts (this would determine how often a journal is created when ran). Once done,…

  3. When reconciling bank account, then publishing it should display the bank details as setup in chart of accounts - it just just says bank reconciliation. So makes it hard to know which report is which. Once reconciled it should default to the the next date so you don't have to change dates continuously.

  5. Thank you for adding the ability to show both invoicing and delivery addresses on an invoice.

Please may you add the same functionality to the quotes? And as a follow on, if this option is selected at the quote stage, continue this onto the invoice as well when it is created.

    Thanks.

  6. I suggest on putting "Send to MyInvois" button instead of copy and paste the e-mail MyInvois@invoi.ci for every invoice. This is too troublesome.

Hi Maggie, after checking back in with our product team I wanted to confirm - though not a specific button in itself you could add the email address on the Contact record. If you select to 'Include in emails' the email will appear each time you're creating an invoice for that contact, saving you from having to copy & paste.

  7. Ability to schedule time for repeating invoices to be generated and sent.

Purpose: To make repeating invoices are generated and sent to the contact/supplier/customer’s preferred time.

  8. The old version we used to be able to hit the Enter button whilst we are keying in the number keys to the right of our keyboard. In the new version we have come to realise that the Enter Button makes the decimal points pop up... instead of just being able to put in 50 for fifty dollars. I have been using the Enter key over near those numbers on the right since xero began and I am really hoping this is fixed ASAP if that is ok please

Thanks for raising this with us in product ideas, Leanne. Appreciate it's been a few months since you first started this, however just coming back across and testing with the current experience it appears this is now working as you'd like to see here - When entering data in fields of a row in the invoice, if you press enter you'll move across to the next field. Also within an amount field like Qty or Price when you type in a figure and press enter this will move fields and round the amount to the nearest whole number, unless you have inserted a decimal point.

Let me know if there's anything you feel I'm missing within your idea here. Thanks!

  9. Ability to process a manual journal in foreign currency and to pull the exchange rate on the date of the journal.

Hi community, first off thank you for contributing and detailing why posting manual journals in a foreign currency is of interest to you all.

We appreciate our customers would like to see more capability in accounting for and dealing in foreign currencies across Xero.

In it's current form Manual Journals are a part of Xero that require some upgrade to uplift technology in order to provide capability for ideas like this to be considered. We have intentions of bringing attention to this over the coming year, however getting this done first is necessary before we can even think about adding newer functionality like journaling in another currency to the mix.

To set the expectation here, there is no work planned over 2023 for this feature. We know it's of high interest and when we're in a place to reassess we will share with you here.

  10. It would streamline workflow if there was a feature that allowed us to store a client's credit card on file and when a single invoice is sent out to the client, the business can charge the card on file.

In previous invoicing systems, I was able to "store" a client's credit card on file and then invoice and charge the credit card on file. This is an important feature for my business as it removes the burden off my clients for paying the invoice and reduces the amount of follow up on my end for collecting payment.

  11. In the case of no transaction in a bank account, we can't import a blank CSV and so the statement balance date stays the date of the last import transaction.

I wish that we could modify the statement balance date to today's date even if no transaction occurred since the last import.

Hi team, back again to confirm that this has now been rolled out to all regions.

As note in my last update the new Bank Reconciliation Summary report now gives you the ability to enter a Bank statement ending balance.

If you don't have an imported statement balance or the imported statement balance doesn't match your actual bank statement you can enter an amount and Xero will calculate the balance out by based on your input.

  12. On a multi currency company it would be better for the total amount showing due matches the balance of all bills as per the date they were raised.
It causes confusion for clients when they pay a supplier, they usually just check total owed against the contact, if it's fluctuating to reflect exchange rates this means they may under or over pay the actual original bills.

  13. I can create a Purchase Order, and from that I can mark it as billed and it creates a bill record for this purchase, putting the PO number into the Reference field of the Bill. The Bill also has a hyperlink to jump to the Purchase Order.
Within the Bill, I can assign the expense to a customer, which is fine.
When I create the customer Invoice, I have the option to add billable expenses, which is fine, and it marks the line as a billable expense, but there is no hyperlink to jump from the Invoice to the Bill.…

  14. Whenever I enter an invoice for a new customer, which is quite often, it always annoys me that the 'Add new contact' pop-up doesn't have postcode search in it.

So I end up adding a contact and their email, saving then going into contacts in a new tab to complete their address from their postcode.

Just add lookup to the contact details in add quote/invoice/etc wherever there is a postcode field.

  15. It is all too easy to accidentally upload a batch of sales invoices to Xero from the wrong period. It can then take absolutely hours to delete these as Xero does not have the functionality to remove these en masse.

Hi Sarah, when importing invoices to Xero, these should come in as drafts. You can Delete draft invoices in bulk from the Draft List view. 🙂

Would be good to better understand the way invoices are coming into your organisation if there's a step I'm missing here?

  16. The only way of moving (using the keyboard) within an invoice or a bill table at the current moment is by using the enter or tab key. These two keys allow you to move horizontally.

Many times I found myself wanting to move vertically instead! Could we have one key that will do just that?

A similar feature is already present in 'cash coding' and makes the experience of reconciling way smoother. What about invoicing and bills?

  17. I’m moving from an existing system to Xero, so need to enter my new data into Xero for the current financial year which the accountant then files with HMRC. But at the same time I need to import my older data without affecting the current filings. All the accountant can do is to lock the accounts from a date backwards, which means I cannot enter my old data.
All I want is to be able to lock financial years, enter the old data and then use Xero to identify if the accountant needs to make any future adjustments.

  19. We are a subscription based business, so it would be great to be able to bulk update repeating invoice amounts. Either by selecting all the ones we'd like to change or by pushing through new inventory/product/service price changes. At the moment we have to change every single repeating invoice and this takes hours and hours!

Thanks for the feedback and great to hear the use you find in repeat templates in Xero.

While there's no way to bulk update templates atm, you may find updating your templates through export & import of invoices more helps quicken things up?

You could export invoices that have been generated from your template to CSV, update the amounts in the exported file, and then re-import

This will create 'Draft' invoices in your Xero org from which you can create a Repeat template and then delete the draft. 🙂

  20. Short term cash flow projection, please can you update it to show bills with future dated payments?

Once our suppliers bills are in for the month, we often set bank payments up for them for their due date so that we don't' have to keep remembering to make payments. If we mark them up with a future payment date, they are removed from the cashflow forecast. It would make much more sense if they appeared in the cashflow on the date they have been set to pay.
