NZ Payroll - Edit the layout of employees payslips
We have multiple employees that have various deductions from their wages. This is causing the pay slip to spread accross two pages which is concerning as they may miss important information like messages at the bottom of a pay slip.
There needs to be the either:
1. The ability to change the payslip layout
or
2. Have two or three template options to choose from.Currently the whitespace at the top of the payslip could be utilised. The required business and employee information is great but could be in a better layout. Move the business information…

Short term cashflow - Option to include payroll
Very simply, short term cashflow does not include a range of items the biggest and most important of which is payroll. I think if you are selling this feature you should be very wary of the need for a disclaimer if the feature fails to be accurate, and decisions could be made on false information if for example the biggest expense item being wages is not included.
Granted it should be something people take great care when making financial decisions and should note the issue, many don't have great financial literacy which is part of why xero was created…

To confirm, if you're using Xero Analytics Plus the dashboard can predict payroll expenses if they’re reconciled as spend money transactions or bills, and are regular in amount and frequency. To manually include payroll expenses, add them as upcoming money out transactions.
We don't have any planned changes for how these type of transactions are represented in Short term cashflows in the near term. If there are any updates made we'll share this with you here.

NZ Payroll - Alternate Holiday accrual
Change the Alternate Holiday accrual to days not hours. Legally when someone works on a statutory holiday they get to accrue 1 days alternate holiday, which is the hours that they would normally work when they take the day off, not the hours they worked on the stat day. It's misleading putting in hours instead of days, especially if every day if not an 8 hour day. Reports need to be run every time an Alternate Holiday is taken to ensure they still have that day available.

Currently, any new businesses that have started using Xero Payroll from 5 August 2024 will have the ability to set up employee leave entitlements to show alternate holiday leave in days. While we're still working on changes to enable this for existing organisations we'll keep you updated of when this is made available here.

Email Settings - Ability to add other email address when user choose 'Send me a Copy' option
Ability to add ‘Send me a Copy’ check to also include other email addresses.
Purpose: To make other colleague within the users' workplace get the copy of the email, so they’re all informed.

AU Payroll - Show mark as paid on the superannuation status page
It would be very helpful if any super that has had the 'Mark as Paid' applied was also shown on the superannuation status page and also on the Superannuation Payments Report too. It is a collaborative QA, transparancy/visibility thing that would be very helpful given we have clients, BASAgents, Bookkeepers and Accountants all trying to make sure a client meets all obligations so showing this would provide good clear confirmation as to what has occured no matter which 'advisor' with permission logged in - we can all support each other this way.

AU Payroll - Ability to obtain costings for timesheet categories
Ability to obtain a report on the actual costings on each timesheet category. Currently only able to report on the hours paid. Would be helpful to find out costing on each category. Presently have to manually calculate by multiplying hourly rate charge and hours (plus super).

UK Payroll- Access to a communal time off calendar for all employees.
As a smaller business we try to have one employee off at a time where possible- it would be hugely useful if they could access a shared leave calendar in the same place as they request leave & submit timesheets from. This would pull data from my admin overview calendar and stop me having to create external calendar in iOS and another in android which leads to missing data etc and wasted holiday requests. Account transaction report - Remove 'overall total of all accounts' when run for a single account
New Account transaction report - remove the totals when generating the report for a single account.
The new report adds a report total at the end of the selected accounts which is a total of the debit or credit transactions for 'all' accounts selected.
When only one account is selected it still shows a total - this is in addition to the total for the transactions on the account itself so it shows total of transactions, closing balance and then total of transactions of all accounts selected. AU Timesheets - Record clock in/out time through shared device
So at present - as mentioned below it doesn't really make any sense to be logging hours for the day in the morning when staff arrives as every day could be different.

Billable Expense - Copy billable expense details when copying a bill
Xero to copy billable expense lines when copying a bill or entering a new bill using 'add last items'. At the moment, the nominal lines and split detail are copied but if each line has previously been allocated to a customer as a billable expenses, this is not copied and needs re-entering line by line.

New invoicing copy and merge
In old invoicing, when you used Copy and Merge into a new invoice, it kept each of the original invoice's items together in order, including the first line description. In the new Invoicing, it groups together all of the like items from each invoice which is incorrect. This needs to be addressed.
8 votesHi Lisa, it'd be good to get a closer look at some of the invoices you've copied and merged from and to, so we can get a better look at what's going on for you here.
I've just tested creating invoices with Copy and merge from the list view using the same inventory items, however these are created as separate lines on the new draft invoice.

UK Payroll - True Potential Pension - Workplace pension filing CSV download
We would like to suggest an enhancement to the Xero payroll software that could significantly improve its functionality for our company.
Currently, Xero offers download options for various pension providers, but we've noticed that True Potential is not among them.
We propose the addition of a CSV download option specifically for the True Potential pension provider.
Given that Xero already possesses the necessary data, incorporating this feature would eliminate the need for manual data entry and formatting, reducing the risk of errors and saving valuable time.

Invoice Reporting (Payables) - Ability to include Planned Date as a separate column
In the new reports you can run a report, by supplier, of invoices that are due and planned to be paid, which is great. There is a differentiation between due and planned in both screen detail and reporting. The schuduled/planning option enables users or managers to plan which invoices they wish to pay either by viewing on Xero or running in a report. UK Payroll - Employee Details export in bulk with correct date format
Purpose: to be able to move payroll from one Xero company to another quickly and without errors.
When exporting employee details from payroll in order to bulk upload them onto another company's payroll, it is not possible to do a bulk export. You have to instead individually download each employee. This is fine if there are only 10-20 employees, but any bigger and you are opening yourself up to missing employees and making mistakes. Any other exports currently available do not give all the information needed to then import directly into a new payroll.

AU Payroll - Earnings rate attached to days of the week
The ability to assign earnings rate to day of the week so a timesheet automatically uses the correct earnings rate and can't be changed by employee.
Eg Saturday timesheet is pre- filled with the Saturday earnings rate.
