  1. Could we include a notification when a staff member has a birthday? This has multiple benefits including allowing us to check if their award salary or benefits need to change and also be able to congratulate them on their birthday. Surely it wouldn't be a huge change to make but would be a unique and helpful change for many SME as I currently need to create a new Google calendar for staff birthdays, creating additional work especially when we have 50+ staff and low retention in hospitality. Thank you.

    Appreciate the interest through the idea, but want to be open that we don't have any development planned for adding reminders or notification of an employees birth date atm. 

    I see there are some supporters from NZ and UK in the idea here and wanted to point you across to these specific ideas for each region that I'd encourage adding your support for - Each version of Xero Payroll has been developed specifically for the that regions tax and reporting obligations and this would need to be developed for each version separately.   4. For Advisors only: if a padlock is present on an account of the COA I would like the padlock to go to the bank rules so they can easily be redirected to the new account. For example, we set up Directors Loan accounts for each financial year. Each year we hae to add a new account too the COAs and reroute all of the rules. Painful!

    Hey Michele, thanks for your suggestion to make the padlock icon on the Chart of Accounts a direct link to the associated bank rules.

    We're grateful for your engagement and for letting us know the changes that would improve your workflow. We can see how this would be a huge time-saver for Advisors, especially when managing year-end processes like creating new Director's Loan accounts and rerouting the old rules.

    We've reviewed your idea, and it's now ready to gain support from other community members. Along with votes, other Advisors can now comment to share more detail about how this feature could make their own account management processes much less painful. 🙂

  5. To be able to bulk download invoices for a client or multiple clients.

    With also the ability to filter to all invoices, paid invoices and not paid invoices.

    Hi Amy, could you give a bit more detail on what this would help you do, or is there a specific format you'd be looking to download invoices in? 

    Currently, you can export invoices from Xero and would be able to filter these in exported CSV file, or can do a search to do this before exporting - More on this here

  6. I hope xero has the functionality of e-invoicing to approve and send the multiple e-invoices in bulk.
    As this new invoicing does not allow it and make the task slower than the conventional xero way.
    I hope you'll add this suggestion on your product improvement and see xero functioning the next time around.

  7. To reassign or remove multiple billable expenses at once and to make edits to billable expenses from within reports.

    I have a client who has 175 outstanding billable expenses, which need to be removed as the invoices have been billed manually.

  8. Please keep the current feature of adding item codes to billable expenses so that the preset charge out rate and account pulls through. In the new system adding an item code wipes out the billable expense.

    Hi community, thanks for sharing back with us on the flow through of information for Billable expenses.

    Our product team have implemented a change, and you should now find that when you add a billable expense related to an inventory item, and select to add the items to your invoice the item code will be shown.

    If you're finding this is not the case for you it would be best for our Xero Support specialists to take a closer look at things with you 1-1 - you can touch base with them through Xero Central.

  9. export graph of bank account - the image of a decreasing bank balance in the form of a graph over a period of up to 6 months is very telling, please could the image already available be accessible as a download so this can be shared with business owners

  10. It would be great to be able to limit the accounts that show based on whether they have a value that is not 0. This would be useful for PAYG Payable, Superannuation Payable, Suspense accounts etc.

    Instead of a long list of accounts with 0 balances, it would allow the user to only see the account that have a value.

  11. It's great that Xero Me now allow employees to add their own start, finish and break times but all hours appear as ordinary hours. Xero should have a warning prompt flagging this as it's easy to miss overtime hours and pay them as the default ordinary hours, which then needs an unscheduled pay run to correct the underpayments (assuming you work this out for yourself!). Public holidays should also be flagged so we can adjust pay rates (if needed) for these days.

  12. The feature request is to allow the defining of current liability accounts for pay items with pay types set to Deductions, Payroll Taxes, and Post-tax Deductions. This will enable the tracking of payroll source deductions and taxes necessary for remittance reports to the tax authority (such as EI, CPP and income taxes for T4 and T4 summary completion in Canada).

    There are two ways I believe Xero developers could achieve this goal.

    Thanks for sharing and engaging with Product ideas. While we understand wanting to see improvements to Global Pay Run, however as you may have recently read -

    We’re making some changes to help you manage your payroll more effectively;

    - From 23 July 2025 Global Pay Run will become read-only. You'll still be able to see all your past payroll information, however you will not be able to process any new pay runs after this date. 

    - Global Pay run will be retired after April 2026, at which point you'll no longer be able to access pay run. 

    With this update we want to be upfront here that we don't have any intentions of further developing Global Pay Run, and will close this idea.

  13. Add the ability to extract data from scanned receipts in the Xero Expense web app.

    At the moment, both the mobile app and HubDoc can automatically scan receipts and extract data (date, amount, payee, etc). This doesn't work in the web app and Hubdoc cannot send documents to the Expense app.

    We use a document scanner to scan multiple reciepts at a time and then batch upload to our expense keeping app (Zoho Expense). Drag and drop multiple receipts into Zoho Expense and the software will automatically extract the data from multiple reciepts at a time. This is more user…

    Appreciate the interest shown on the idea here, everyone. Atm, we don't have any plans for adding a specific field for a Contact / Business Registered name. 

    While not a perfect solution as another user has shared, perhaps adding the name to the contact's address field could help surface this detail where required at present. 

    We'll continue to gauge interest in this, and share if there are any updates.

  17. Bank Reconciliation suggestions. The ability for Xero to identify a name within a customer contact and match it to the name on the bank feed and suggest this as a match. for example John Smith is the contact for ABC pty ltd. when he makes payment he only references John Smith. Xero will recognise John smith is a contact for ABC pty ltd and suggest their invoice in the bank rec.

    Hello everyone, appreciate all your feedback here. To be upfront, we don’t have any plans to develop the ability to reconcile clearing, control and non-bank accounts in the near future. 


    Some of the technology improvements going on across Xero will create more opportunities for us to explore extending some of the more complex functionality from one part of Xero to another. However, we are some way off from this yet. 


    That being said, there is the Account transaction report that could be handy in providing a view of both sides of a transaction in Xero. You can include the related account as a column in the report - See more in our help article on this.

    Alternatively, if you’re using an external system, you could look into the Xero App store

  20. When using the Reconcile Period feature for clients with multiple bank accounts, it is time-consuming to click in and out of each account to check if reconciliation is needed. It can also be difficult to remember which account you left off on, especially when reconciling at different times throughout the month.

    Displaying the ending date of the last reconciled period next to "Reconcile Period" and/or on the dashboard would provide a quick overview of the last reconciliation for each account, improving efficiency.
