Send / Issue Invoices directly to Whatsapp: Clients of our would love the function to be able to send invoices directly to a Whatsapp account/number from Xero (similar to the "Email" button on invoices). Client contact numbers are already listed on Xero Contacts. Even if this was only added to the Xero mobile app, we think this would be a huge benefit for many businesses.

    Hi all, I'm pleased to let you know it's possible to share via WhatsApp. If you're using the mobile app, on the invoice you'd like to send, use the menu in the top right for more options and select Share... Your mobile will come up with options for sharing and if you have WhatsApp installed you can send it to your WhatsApp contacts.

    If you're using the web version, on the invoice you'd like to send, use the menu in the top right for more options and select Get link. From here you can copy the link and use WhatsApp Web to compose your message and paste the link to the invoice.

  4. I would like to be able to run a report that simply has overdue invoices, name, phone number, email. Ideally sorted by sales. Similar to the list I get when I am doing Statements but with a phone number in it.

  5. We would like to see customers contact person's name appearing on the invoice we send. One customer can have different people/contacts for different projects/invoices. Currently we can only pull out the PRIMARY contact's name to the invoice, which means if we would like to add a different name, we have to REMERMBER to edit customer's primary contact to a different person. It is very time consuming and easy to forget too.

Files is a great feature to use, to make it even more user-friendly it would be really useful to have a high level folder e.g. for the current FY, with the info sitting in sub-folders under it. that way you hold multiple years worth of info there, keeping it well-organised, easy to find and manageable.

    Thank you for all sharing and adding your vote for the idea, here. We know our customers find great use in Xero Files and developing the ability to create sub folders in Xero Files is something the team are planning to take a deeper dive into in the coming months. For now, we'll move the idea to Under review and I'll come back with more news when this picks up. 😊

  7. Please allow the function to split the linked accounts for GST Collected on Sales/Income and GST Paid on Purchases/Expenses. It's extremely frustrating to have them all lumped into the one account and makes year end reconciling much more time consuming and difficult. Needless to say, it makes it a lot harder to do year end adjustments correctly.

    Hi Jodie, the single GST account in Xero is designed to calculate and create the org's Business Activity Statement based on the accounting method selected in the org's settings. I want to be open that we don't have plans to change this.

    However, you could use custom tax rates to separate different rates within the GST account. 

  8. It would be useful to be able to reconcile a payment from one foreign bank account (eg USD) for another foreign currency.

    We tend to have predominately USD customers and a lot of EUR suppliers, so we find that quite often we make a payment to our EUR supplier out of our USD bank account.

    When reconciling this in the bank we have to post a payment to a manual clearing account to then be able to post the payment to the EUR Supplier account to clear the invoices.

    It would be useful if the feature shown when reconciling…

  9. Many of my clients prefer a 37.5 hour work week (7.5 hours a day) to a 38 hour work week (7.6 hours a day).
    I am able to set the leave accruals to a 7.5 hour day but the standard work week in "'Assign default leave types" is always 38 hpw and I have to manually change it to 37.5 to match the leave accrual.

  10. It would be helpful when setting up new GL accounts in the COA if the screen would populate somewhere (even a drop down would be helpful) with the existing COA so you can see in same screen what’s already there and where your new account would fit logically

    When you're next entering an invoice, you might like to use New Invoicing, where the entries you make are automatically saved.

    You can do this by clicking the 'Switch to new invoicing' option at the bottom of the page.

  14. what about the possibility of practices creating their own report code structure? with infinite report codes capable of being added? to accommodate flexible reporting structures?

    It is truly difficult to automate reporting where a practice does not control the chart structure. this is because clients often create new chart codes because their particular expense doesnt neatly fit the chart options available...so a new expense/revenue/etc account is added and then the report pack grows in size (with similar account types that really should be grouped for reporting) to the point where it is unusable...unless the practice manually maps into a "group"…

  15. Please include the Sales Tax Exemption field as a column in the Contact csv template/import.

    The new auto tax feature appears to utilize this field, and having to go to each contact through Xero, one at a time, to edit and update this field is very time consuming. Too many clicks to update a field for every customer contact a client has.

  17. Per the attached screenshot, we are utilising tracking categories to track income and expenditure for two branches of a business with one ABN. Most of the reports can be filtered between tracking categories. I can see no reason that the GST reports should not be able to be filtered by tracking category, or even the Activity Statement report. We should be able to expect this filtering for ABN branches.

  18. The same way a direct debit file is created for Creditors, it would be great if Xero could create a direct credit file for Debtors. We direct credit over 200 debtor accounts weekly. As Xero isnt able, we do it externally and use a bank template. If Xero can creatre a direct debit file, I dont see why it cant create a direct credit file. The only change is the bank ID. Our previous clunky software could do it and banks are able to upload a direct credit file.

    Hi everyone, while there isn't a report that you can report 'terms' atm, you could run the Aged Receivables Summary report that'll provide all the other detail you're asking here.

    From Columns in the report you'll see the option to include Credit Limit as well as many of the contact details such as Email and Phone. If this is a report you'd want to access frequently, save it as Custom and maybe even favourite the report so you can easily access it.

    When you mention wanting to include 'terms' it'd be good to get more detail of your expectations in this would this be the terms and conditions of the theme applied to invoices for that contact, or perhaps billing information that you may have saved in notes for the contact? Thanks

  20. Discovered an error. In the customer settings, when placing 0 in the field for “Days invoice when due” shows an error, despite Xero using 0 when calculating when an invoice is due.
