  1. Option to generate a Notice of Electronic Funds document to send to suppliers requiring immediate proof of payment. Said Notice to include:

    remittance date
    name/contact details of remitting party
    amount
    reference / description for payment being made
    the bank details of both the remitting and beneficiary banks

    Not an original idea but I received a notice from a customer. Today I was asked to submit one to a supplier as proof of payment so they could ship out an urgent delivery but I could not provide one. See sample document attached for reference.

    Hi Nina, this is something I'd recommend engaging your financial institution or bank about. While you can set up and create a payment in Xero, the confirmation of funds transfer would come at the point the money is paid from your actual bank account to the suppliers bank account. 


    If your suggestion however is from the Sales side where you'd like to request your own customers provide proof of payment for invoices you send to them perhaps this could be worked into your organisations branding as part of the payment terms

  2. There are some new features that I like about the new invoicing, like the ability to immediately a new contact. However this is limited to name and billing address, please add the ability to add email address here too!!!

    Other classic features that need to be included so I can use the new invoicing:

    Hi everyone, we have now made a change to the Contact card in new invoicing which allows you to enter more contact details from the invoice screen. 

    You'll find you can both add details for a new contact as well as edit an existing contact. The fields available from the Contact card include Contact name, Email, Billing address, the option to add a Delivery address, and phone number 😊

    Cairns, I know there are a couple of other ideas you've mentioned in your initial post here too. While we'll mark this idea as delivered for the primary request you may also like to join these ones below for any updates. 

  3. In the settings for Included in emails be able to specify which emails. For instance you have two people who receive and approve quotes. You don't want to send quotes to the account that processes invoices. The account that processes invoices only wants invoices and the people who approved the quotes don't necessarily want to be copied in on the invoices.
    I imagine this would be a tick bock for Quote, Invoice, Credit, Purchase order, Bill, next to each include in setting.

  4. A 'select all' feature to approve all unapproved timesheets would be great.
    8 plus years now of having to tick in a tiny box for all my casual/part-time staff is getting a little tedious, especially when a slight error opens the timesheet up and you have to then back out of the page to start all over again.
    It shouldn't be too hard from a coding point of view should it?

  5. Please remove invoice links from Statements, this is causing us huge problems or at least give an option to remove.
    We are requesting like many others that Xero remove invoice links from statements, as they are causing significant issues.
    Our company uses a Project Management system to issue invoices which is integrated with Xero, and we need control over the information provided to customers.

  6. Purchase orders should be able to go from approved back to draft inside XERO so that integration to other stock systems does not fail when changes are made in 3rd party stock management systems.

  8. It would be beneficial to be able to edit transactions via Xero Expenses.

    I find if a client has approved something to the wrong code you have to remove the whole transaction and redo it. In Xero normally you can Edit a transaction.
    I have checked with Xero and that is the only current resolution.

    Xero is usually so user friendly but this way is time consuming and slow. Thanks

    Hi Antony, when processing expenses on the Xero Me app there is the option to edit an expense that has been submitted on both iOS and Android.

    On iOS this is available from the Options menu, and on Android you'll want to tap the 3 dots in the top right of the claim. 😊

  9. Customer has asked if there is a link that would enable them to see current and historic invoices - apparently there isn't a way to do this.

    Background: we email customers invoices every week through Xero. Occasionally the email's fail to arrive although Xero says they have been sent.

    Our customer has said 'surely there is a page where I can see current and past invoices so I don't have to hassle you'

    A Customer Activity statement would be a good first measure, Jane. 


    Appreciate it doesn't help where there email is not received - when initially sending invoices, it could be good to include both the online invoice link and a copy of the PDF so your customer has 2 routes to be able to look these up later. 


    You could also look to set up and include a link for your customers to view 'Outstanding bills' online.

  10. Please create all excel exports from Xero in the currrent .xlsx format. Most still produce an old xls.file format (for instance Sales Tax Report) and need to be resaved to bring up to date.

  12. Please add option to show invoice values excl/incl tax in invoice list views

    Bulk invoice features. We would like to see more functionality added to the bulk editing in the sales overview/invoices:
    - Bulk editing of Due dates
    - Bulk editing of Expected date
    A more consistent 'Tally by checkbox' - this works really well in the invoices lists where a sum of all checked invoice values are shown but this feature is missing in invoice searches.

    Hi Jonas, it's best if we have each idea as a separate thread in the forums here so other members know exactly what they're adding their vote for and our product teams can gauge the interest in a specific feature.

    I see you've already found and voted for this idea on bulk editing expected date. I've also just added your vote to this idea on bulk date change, and I'll slightly amend the title of your idea here for the 'Tally by checkbox' when you have a search applied.

    While the current amount due shown on the list view will show as tax inclusive, if you'd like to view inclusive v exclusive you could run the Receivable Invoice Summary report where you have the option to add Gross, Net and Tax columns. Alternatively if there's a specific reason you'd like to view this from the list of invoices…

  13. I migrated from QB Desktop to Xero last year, and whilst Xero produces the accounts etc perfectly well I find processing book-keeping data takes me around 20% longer than it used to. Here are a few ideas which would speed this up:
    1. Have a button to scroll to next or last invoice, bill, journal etc rather than having to look at a transaction, then go back to the list to see the next transaction.
    2. Allow a default bank account to be set up for e.g. payments, receipts etc

  15. On Classic, we could attach supplier & subcontractor invoices to our invoice when we sent it to clients. We haven't been able to do this since moving to the new invoices. We've reached out to Xero regarding this and the help we have been given has been generic and not at all related to the problem we've sent screenshots about. Very disappointing. What happened to a member of the team accessing our setup in a meeting (??Teams or Zoom etc) and working through the problem with us.     Hi Glen, sorry to hear you've not had the best experience recently when seeking help. Generally our team are happy to arrange a call if requested and do offer screen meets to troubleshoot issues.

    We know some customers were finding the upload files option a little tricky in new invoicing and recently we released a enhancement that now allows you to drag & drop files anywhere on the screen (rather than directly onto the Files attachment window). I believe this should resolve the issue you've noted, and would recommend giving it a try but please do respond to my update if you're still having any difficulty with this.

  17. Like it says on the tin. Why do Xero send an unnecessary EPS each month when its not needed? If I want to change my payroll, great send the EPS when I approve it. If I make a late payment, send the EPS once I've finalised the payroll. But please stop sending pointless returns which makes me wonder what Xero is doing filing unnecessary data that is more likely to cause problems with HMRC than not given their systems.

  18. Would we please be able to see staff leave at the same time when entering timesheets?

  19. I would like to have the ability to reflect a new increase from the agreed-upon date. Often, salary reviews occur after the financial year-end and need to be backdated. However, Xero does not allow for backdating when other payroll systems do. You have to make a note of the actual start date, which isn't reflected in any reporting, making it not very useful.

    Additionally, there should be the ability for an advanced support person to modify information, enabling them to roll back a change. I recently encountered an issue where third-party software changed the review date

  20. It would be incredibly helpful to be able to update multiple notes at once. For example, if I have a list of 300 invoices and a statement has been sent, I want to see that note on each invoice, so that anyone going into that account can see the last action. So for example, I want to add the note 'Statement sent today requesting payment by 19th April' to all 300 invoices, but I want to be able to select them all and add that note once, not 300 separate times.
