  1. I request xero development team to edit the billable expense feature or create a new feature. Currently for billable expense to be invoiced to customer, first we need to enter the billable expense and than later invoice to customer. However, in our case, we first send the customer a tax invoice to collect advance from customer and than make spending for the expenses on behalf of customer. However, in this case we can not make sure or link within xero what was invoiced to customer and how much was spent against that invoice. I mean if we the invoice…

It is a pain opening the invoice to see this.

  4. Add a "DUE" Column to The new "Customer Invoice Summary" report if it is to replace the "Customer Invoice Report". At the moment the proposed change will remove functionality. We rely on the current Customer Invoice Report to update our cashflow. The proposed "BALANCE" column is not the same as the "DUE" data. "BALANCE" only gives Invoices not paid at end of filtered period rather than what is left to be paid period.
Alternatively..... DO NOT RETIRE THE CUSTOMER INVOICE REPORT!!!!

  6. I raise invoices for clients who provide services to government departments and have project managers involved. This requires me to send an invoice to the accounts department who may have einvoicing and to the project manager who does not have access to the financial software and therefore requires a copy of the invoice which also confirms to them that the invoice has been submitted to accounts. Would it be possible to have another option when preparing an invoice to Approve, Send (as an e-invoice) and Email all in one process?

Interesting to here your feedback here, and would be good to get a wider sense of customers that have similar scenario here. We don't have any plans for adding this option atm, but we'll update you here if anything changes. Thanks

  7. Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to include some non financial data in zero ledgers for reporting?
For Example - I would like to include a 'No. of Transactions' for a period that would not be a financial number (so no balancing required) but, this number would be available to add to reports i.e creating a cost per transaction.
We used to call these 'SKU's' and generally they would Non Financial KPI's like:- production days, FTE's, LTI's or Units produced.
    Any help would be great.
    Regards Iain Vernon

  8. In the new invoicing it is possible to add a customers credit onto their invoice from the bottom of the screen however the old version would have a pop up asking if you would like to apply the credit.

Can we change new invoicing so that it pops up asking for confirmation as this is easily missed.

Hi everyone, as shared a little earlier here when you start entering an invoice for a customer that has credit you'll receive a notification in the bottom right.

Once you approve the invoice you'll receive a prompt to let you know that you have credit for the contact and would you like to apply it.

If you're not receiving this prompt this would be unexpected behaviour. We'd still like to help you with this, but it's best for our specialists at Xero Support to get more information 1-on-1 and investigate this with you. You can reach out to them through the Contact Xero Support option throughout Xero Central (bottom of the page).

  9. In old invoicing, when you used Copy and Merge into a new invoice, it kept each of the original invoice's items together in order, including the first line description. In the new Invoicing, it groups together all of the like items from each invoice which is incorrect. This needs to be addressed.

Hi Lisa, it'd be good to get a closer look at some of the invoices you've copied and merged from and to, so we can get a better look at what's going on for you here.

I've just tested creating invoices with Copy and merge from the list view using the same inventory items, however these are created as separate lines on the new draft invoice.

If you can raise a case with our team of specialists through the Contact Xero Support option at the bottom of this page, they can get more detail to investigate and confirm.

  10. When creating/editing an invoice with the new style, you can select fields to show/hide. We would like to be able to change these and set the changes as default - at the moment you have to go in and select the ones you would like to see every time you are editing an invoice. The main one for us is the discount column - we would like to see this on every invoice. Having this functionality to show/hide is good, but just don't want to change this every time.

Hi everyone, we appreciate your feedback on the show/hide fields option. As you may have seen in other updates we're working on a new line item grid that will encompass a few enhancements we know our customers want to see, and will also include an improvement to the behaviour of the show/hide fields so the options you select will be retained. I'll come back to confirm when this is released.

  11. As an accounts practice, we are looking to reconcile bank in timely manner, and not particularly concerned about supplier payment allocations against particular invoices. Therefore we would like to see cash coding option for Advisor to allocate purchase invoice payments against supplier account as overpayment, as we would be reconciling supplier balances after bank is all allocated. We would then reconcile overpayments in each individual supplier account.

  13. In Xero a receivable invoice status is shown as paid whether it is actually paid or whether a credit note is applied to the invoice.
Can a new status be added to show when an invoice a credit note is applied, for example "Credited".
This will help identify actual payments received vs credit notes issued

  15. New invoicing - ability to type "." between numbers (like you can in bills) i.e 24.6 then becomes 24 June after you press Tab.

Right now it only seems to accept 24/6, but I'm sure you used to be able to type 24.6 Tab and then it would convert to the date. If you use "." now, it will default to todays date

Understand our customers have different habits when entering dates, Emily. Atm you can use '-' or '/' to separate n umbers in your dates, however as you've found '.' isn't an option. We'll begin gathering interest in this here, and I'll share if there are any updates planned.

  16. Feature: I'd like to be able to format the [Due Date] field when it's included in email templates.

Use Case: My standard emails include a line which reads "This invoice will be due for payment by 09 Oct 2023". I have to reformat the date to a more readable style every time.

Basic Outcome: Using standard date formatting you should be able to express the date as "Monday 9 October, 2023" - note that the leading "0" on the date number has been omitted, and also the inclusion of a comma after the month.

    Ideal Outcome: The due date…

  17. Be able to remove the csv file option when viewing invoices online. I have a template set up which gives a detailed description but only a total price as I do not want customers to see the individual prices. However if they view online and download the CSV they can see this detail. It only seems to happen when emailed to Gmail accounts as we don't include the invoice link in the email. I now have to put in 0's for each line item and manually enter the total amount.

  18. Remove the 'Skip' or 'Allocate Credit' pop up box when entering invoices.
When entering a number of invoices, if the customer who you are entering an invoice for has a credit on their account, a box appears asking to 'allocate the credit' or 'skip.' By clicking either it takes you back to the enter invoice screen without the option of adding another invoice. This makes it quite time consuming when entering a number of invoices.

Is there a way from stopping the 'allocate credit' or 'skip' boxes appearing?

  19. An employee is in charge of paying our foreign supplier accounts. So we gave him the role "Invoice only (Approve and Pay). Unfortunately, he is not able to see a full statement of the supplier account with all invoices, credit notes and payments made so he does not know how much is owed. He is also unable to enter payments against a supplier without an invoice already existing in Xero, which is an issue when making payments to suppliers who require payment in advance. We cannot grant him full access to see bank details because if we did he…

  20. It would be great if you could automatically allocate prepayments to an invoice once the invoice has been created. Or at least receive notification that a prepayment exists so you can manually receipt it.

We are experiencing that clients have made extra repayments (prepayments) but when the invoice is created and sent to the client they pay the amount on the invoice and the prepayments are still sitting in the system, meaning we then have to issue a refund.

It would be helpful if the negative balance of the prepayment would sit under the clients name so when you are…
