Global Payroll - Add employee end date
Xero payroll ~ To have additional setting to include end date for employee when resigned so that the employee will not appear in pay run.
1 voteThanks for your suggestion, Lynn. There are no plans to streamline ending employment or adding employee end dates for our Global Pay Run product.
Currently, you can archive the employee’s contact in Pay Run - This way the contact won't appear in future pay runs, but you can still access their payment history.
Pay run is a lightweight, simple payroll tool for paying a few employees in your base currency, as well as running pay reports and managing basic employee information. If you need a more full-featured payroll experience in the global version of Xero, we'd recommend checking out payroll app partners.

AU Payroll - Provisions for Annual and Long Service Leave
We need to know how much to provide for on the balance sheet for annual leave and long service leave each month and track these for our financial statements. All the information is available via Xero payroll (leave balances and pay rates for each employee as well as leave accrued and leave taken) but in order to account for this correctly we are expected to export reports and do the calculations ourselves. And we need to maintain external files to reconcile this to each month.
If Xero is offering a payroll and leave tracking function it should ensure the…78 votes -
UK Payroll - Change employee regular earnings in draft pay run
Payroll:
Allow changes to employees' regular earnings details even when a draft pay run is in progress. If an employee's rate needs to be changed, they should be unticked or deselected in the draft pay run.
Currently, the entire pay run needs to be deleted, even if only one out of fifty employees needs a rate change, doubling the time spent on preparing the pay run. All calculations for overtime, leave, reimbursements, and deductions will need to be redone.
Hopefully, this can be considered.
Thanks!

AU Payroll - Superannuation Guarantee Charge form report
When a client fails to pay Superannuation Guarantee levy on time the employer should lodge a Super Guarantee charge form. Is it possible to develop a form where the affected employees can be printed & exported to excel to enable a simple "cut & paste"? If the ATO have started an investigation this can save many hours of work especially if the period covered is several years.

AU Payroll - Specify employee timesheet hours
It would be wonderful if there is an option where employees can add R&D work hours in timesheet where the employers can filter the R&D hours separately for each employee

AU Payroll - No TFN entered for employee notification
When an employee onboards and doesn't have a Tax File Number (TFN) either because they are new to Australia and have just applied for one or they are under 18 and exempt. Xero should have a feature that warns you when they either turn 18 or they have passed the 28 days allowed to work without a TFN and it should automatically change their tax declaration to no TFN provided and change the tax withheld rate, until a TFN is provided. There also needs to be a constant warning in each pay run, 'this person is…

UK Payroll - Pay employees directly via Open Banking
With the advent of Open Banking, it would be great if when you submit the payroll, it could also utilise OB to physically make the payment to the employee also. This would help automate the whole payroll process.

AU Payroll - Pay Item Subject to PTX & Workers Compensation check box.
In the same way that there are tick boxes for "Exempt from PAYG withholding", "Exempt from SGC" & "Reportable as W1" on Pay Items, can we have a check box for Subject to or Exempt from PTX & Workers Compensation so that a report can be generated for Payroll Tax & Workers Compensation calculations.

UK Payroll - Ability to change Pay Periods
We have hourly paid employees who get paid 12 x per year with either a 4 week or 5 week pay period. At present, Xero doesn't give this option to change a pay period within payroll calendars. There are only set pay periods.

AU Payroll - Show employee's last pay period figures in current draft pay run
Ability to show or report the variances/differences between the draft payrun and the prior period payrun.
This would save a huge amount of time going through each payslip to ensure the usual pay is being processed and nothing has been accidentally added or missed.
Especially when you have a large number of employees.3 votesHi team, while it's not possible to view the previous pay periods figures for comparison in the current pay period, you could open the previous pay period overview in a separate browser window. Meaning you can compare the two pay runs without having to go back and forth between them.

AU Payroll - Option to select salary to include/exclude in Super
I work in the payroll team at a business where the majority of our employees are on salaries that include super. This means every July, I have to go into every person's pay template and recalculate what their new salary is (because xero works only on an excluding super basis).
My suggestion: The ability to select whether a salary is including or excluding super per employee. Then every year when the statutory super amount goes up, I won't have to recalculate everyone's new salary for xero. This also means that an employee's payslip has…

AU Payroll - Hide employee personal details for payrun
In the age of outsourcing, it is impossible to outsource pay run function to an external service provider (especially if they are based overseas) since they can view employee's personal info such as their Tax File Number, Date of Birth, Bank account Details etc.
Once the subscriber or authorized accountant/bookkeeper has created an employee card, they should be able to restrict the access of outsourced partner to just doing the pay run. The outsourced partner should be able to just view the employee name to do the pay run. This feature should restrict their ability to change bank…

When using the final pay function and annual leave is in negative, please flag with a "check with your bookkeeper, accountant or Fair Work before processing negative leave on a final pay." Some business owners are unaware that this may be contravening Fair Work laws.
