  2. When a Xero customer is creating an invoice for another Xero customer - why not allow this to automatically show up in the Bills section, if the receiver agrees to this. Would save a heap of time and coding.

  4. Xero app to have accounting basis (profit and loss) able to change from only accrual to cash
    You can only see accrual, it is one of the main features of the app for live information, I find it very hard to know how my current month is actually doing unless.

    Hey community,👋 thanks for supporting this idea, I’m popping in to switch it across to delivered! The product team have been releasing this in phases and it’s now available for 100% of users 🎉
    First, make sure your app is updated. To change the accounting basis, go to the Profit and loss screen, and on the upper right corner tap Options (iOS) or the 3 dots (Android) to go to ‘Set reporting preferences’.
    I also just wanted to confirm that this functionality was already available on the web version check out our article about how to Select settings in a report.  Note that updating this new setting in the mobile app will not change the setting for the web version.

  5. It would be great to have the option when creating a bank rule to tick the bank accounts to run the rule on, as opposed to having ALL or just one. We often need to run the rule on say three of the five bank accounts, and are forced to set up three identical bank rules just so we can select each account, as we don't want to run the rule on all five accounts.   6. Xero provides for only one ATO Branch code to be recorded for an organisation in Settings / Organisation details. Also, Xero does not require a branch code to be recorded for Single Touch Payroll (STP) which would be resulting in a number of cases where the ATO is contacting clients and practitioners regarding incorrect branch codes for STP and requiring correction of STP filings which is time consuming and complex.

  7. Would like to see Current Account codes rollover each year to an Opening Current Account Balance (same with GST codes, Tax codes, HP's, Bank loans) - like P&L items do to Retained Earnings code. And show the Opening Balance on the Trial Balance.
    Currently Xero Trial Balance shows Current Account codes (& all of the above codes) with accumulated Opening Balance & current year movement.

    Please can you display the combined chart of accounts account code with the CoA description in the account column as you do on in the classic view, rather than us needing to click on the description that shows in the column, so the account code then also shows.

    Thanks for the screenshots and feedback here. We've made a lot of changes to new invoicing since first announcing the retirement of classic invoicing. You'll find you can now view both the Account code and Account Name in the Account column when editing your invoices.

  11. It would be helpful if the short-term cash flow could be integrated with the budget. Since we operate on 30-day end-of-month payment terms, the cash flow is often inaccurate. The sales figures are the primary element we would like reading from the budget.

    Appreciate different businesses operate differently when setting up and approving deals. Some businesses specifically leave off detail from quotes for their own circumstance too. 

    Imagine this'd need to be an optional org setting, and not something we have plans for right now but we'll get a sense of the interest here. 

  13. Currently when paying activity statement obligations, you need to manually create a bill or split the payment to the various tax components. These amounts are already in the Activity Statement, so it would be useful to be able to create the bill from the finalised activity statement. This would help business to reconcile ATO payments, and to manage their cash flow as they can see when tax payments are due from their bills report.

When reconciling a bank account using find and match, to be able to match the receipt of money to a Supplier where this is the payment from a supplier to pay off a credit note issued by that supplier or the refund of an over payment made to that supplier. Currently creating the receipt against the credit note individually is very time consuming.

  15. It would save a lot of time if it would be possible to edit the VAT code on paid and reconcilled invoices, just like you can change the nominal code. The VAT return is done at the end of each quarter, which means that the majority of invoices and expenses have been paid, by the time you are running your VAT return and double checking that all invoices and expenses have been correctly coded for VAT.   19. QR Code on Invoice that goes to same web location as the 'View your Bill Online' link on Invoices.

    Currently, a Xero Invoice can have a link displayed for easy/direct payment by customer.

    I would like to see the option to include a QR Code, embeded within the EMAIL sent to customers, and on the PDF attached to the Email, that translates to the same link, allowing for easy payment of printed invoices at time of delivery.

    Great for 1st time customers, Pay on Delivery or COD customers.

  20. I have a real estate client who wants to track clientID and Postcode but also Agent name and property value range. I can only use 2 categories and so have had to make a number of Item codes for each agent 30+ codes per agent in order to do this. If we could have more than 2 tracking categories that would be great!

    Hi everyone, we appreciate all the interest in Tracking. As widely used as this feature is we have no plans at this point to develop and extend the current limitations of Tracking in Xero.

    As some here may have explored - there are connected apps that may serve some of the needs of Tracking, as well as Xero Projects for those looking to monitor and record finite business projects or jobs.

    If there's any change, we'll return here to update.


    You're welcome to continue to share detail of how increasing options for tracking could benefit your business, however we want to be transparent in our  position, so you can make the best decision as needed for your business.
