Invoicing | Tracking - don't override with contact default when copying invoice
Kelly, the procedure to copy an invoice was improved, but it is still erroneous. We have tracking category (department) recorded in customer's settings. But for some customers we issue invoices with the other department tracking category.
New invoicing does not copy that "other" category. When the invoice is copied, all customer's default settings applied to it. In my particular case, it is wrong. I do not want customer's default tracking category; I want a copy of the INVOICE with the correct tracking category. In short, the new invoice is to be an EXACT copy.
Classic invoicing did not have this error. Could you please fix it urgently?

AU Payroll - View payslip in employees record
Option to be able to view payslip in employee file rather than having to download
31 votesHi everyone, while not directly from an employee's record it's possible to view an employees payslip without having to download it. If you select Pay employees from the Payroll menu, choose the required pay run you'll be able to click View Reports where you can choose the 'Payslips' option.
From here you can see the payslips for all employees in that pay period.
We don't have direct plans for adding this capability from within an employee's record atm, but we'll track the interest of this here and let you know if any change is planned.

NZ Payroll - Make multiple draft pay runs
Ability to draft future payruns - ie more than 1 darft payrun. Especially at Christmas time. I would like to draft up future payruns before Igo on leave, but still have the ability to adjust this week payrun for overtime etc. At the moment I can't move forward until I complete current payrun. or i have to do un unscheduled payrun to fix it. Very time consuming
20 votesHi team, we want to be upfront that we don't have immediate plans for enabling the ability to create multiple draft pay runs in NZ Payroll.
If this is something you'd like to see developed for NZ Payroll please add your vote here and we will continue to get a sense of the overall interest from community, and can share if there are any plans made.

E-Invoicing - Additional Tracking Categories for Malaysian E-Invoicing users
MY e-invoicing requires a tracking category in Xero. As we have clients which requires 2 tracking categories for their businesses, it is impossible to free up 1 tracking category for e-invoicing. Please look into this matter by considering adding a new tracking specific for e-invoicing.

New invoicing - Use '.' as separators in the date field
New invoicing - ability to type "." between numbers (like you can in bills) i.e 24.6 then becomes 24 June after you press Tab.
Right now it only seems to accept 24/6, but I'm sure you used to be able to type 24.6 Tab and then it would convert to the date. If you use "." now, it will default to todays date
18 votesUnderstand our customers have different habits when entering dates, Emily. Atm you can use '-' or '/' to separate n umbers in your dates, however as you've found '.' isn't an option. We'll begin gathering interest in this here, and I'll share if there are any updates planned.

New Invoicing - Move Save button to bottom of invoice like classic
Please move the SAVE for the New invoicing to the bottom as per old invoicing. When you have an invoice with 30-50 items and then have to scroll back up to save it adds to the pressure of getting things done.
Or Better still
Leave the old there until you've got it together and your Paid subscribers are happy.
We are seriously looking at moving away from XERO due to all the changes you impose on us without proper UAT. More often than not it creates more work for us and causes more stress we just dont need in an already busy environment. Please move the SAVE for the New invoicing to the bottom as per old invoicing. We'll return to confirm any outcomes.

Invoicing - Option to Add Multiple New Lines at once (5, 10, 15 or 20)
When using Classic version of invoicing, there was an option to Add a new line and then a drop down option to Add 5, Add 10, Add 20 lines.
In the New version of invoicing, this option seems to have disappeared?
Please provide this option if this has not already been provided. I can only seem to add a new line after entering the first line of information.
I found the Add 5 and Add 10 lines really helpful when I'm copying similar job items down a list than having to tab across to get to the next line when I was preparing sales invoices.
Thanks.

40 votesHi all, we appreciate detail you've shared on the value to you in being able to add multiple lines to an invoice at a time.
As a step toward making this process easier, we've released a new line item grid in invoicing, in which you can now manually add singular rows to your invoice.
Our team are keen to continue monitoring feedback for adding multiple rows at once here, and while we don't have any plans for this at present, I'll update you if there's any news.

New invoicing - When sending show organisation's trading name at top of invoice
The email template has changed which accompanies the invoice to the customer. We have a legal name plus a trading as name which people know us by. Currently the legal name is showing up boldly at the top of the email which it didn't before. We would like the trading name to be in this place so as not to cause confusion to our customers, or have the ability to remove it entirely as it has the logo there displaying the correct name.
189 votesHi community, we really appreciate your feedback on this and hearing why you'd like to be able to change the organisation's name that's shown when sending invoices from Xero.
This is on our teams radar, and is something they may look into longer term however we want to be open that it's not in the current roadmap.
We'll continue to track and keep across the interest from our community, and if there's any news to share we'll update you on this, here.

Remittance advice: more email address options
PO and Remittance advice - separate email address - ability to select different email address for sending PO and remittance advice to supplier. Currently able to add mutiple email addresses to contact, but then required to remove the unwanted email address when sending a PO or remittance advice. This can be labourious when creating a batch payment.

Invoicing - Add Expected Invoice Payment Date within Invoice
Can no longer add an expected payment date when viewing an invoice, you now have to go to the 'awaiting payment' section of invoices. Meaning more steps involved and lost functionality.

Navigation - Freeze bar at the top of the page to save scrolling
Can the main pull down bar (Dashboard, Business, Accounting, Projects, Contacts) be fixed at the top of the page? When viewing a screen that has 100 or more lines, it would be a lot more convenient to have immediate access to this than having to scroll all the way back up.
180 votesThanks for your engagement here, Charl. While not a complete solution you may find the use of the 'Home' button on your keyboard helps you quickly navigat back up the page 🙂

Pricing Plans - Keep Payroll accessible from the Ignite and Grow plans
I currently pay for the Standard Plan (15/month) plus Payroll (5/month) and use it for 2 payroll users.
Under the newly unveiled pricing plans my business has been completely shafted.
In order to use Payroll at all, I need to upgrade to the new Grow plan (33/month), already an increase of 13/month. But on top of that, that isn't even enough because you're restricted this plan to only 1 payroll user. So actually I have to jump all the way to the second from top plan which is the Comprehensive at 47/month.
This is a complete joke.
This shift in plans is not helpful for me at all. I don't use bill payments, I don't use expenses. I don't want any of that.
I really hope someone from Xero is listening and re-considers shifting the Payroll access slightly on these new plans, because as it stands I cannot justify staying with Xero (which I've used since 2013 by the way) if I have to pay 47/month to retain the features I currently use now paying only 20/month.
My suggestion:
Please allow adding Payroll users at additional monthly cost to the Ignite and Grow plans.

75 votesHi everyone, thanks for sharing your feedback with us here. We've been listening and taking this all into careful consideration. As you may have recently heard, we've made the decision to provide the same flexibility on payroll in AU and UK as you could before, as well as being able to process automated super payments for employees on all these business plans in Australia.
With these changes we'll be enabling payroll for 1 person on Ignite, and an additional for Grow (up to 2 people) similar to the Starter and Standard plans.
While we don't have a set date for this change yet you can read more on this through our blog post and we'll update you with more news when available through this idea. Thanks

Bank reconciliation - Add attachment to Find & Match (multiple match) transactions
When reconciling transactions and Find & Match is used, usually for multiple matches, please add an attachment button.
In the example of one payment matched to multiple sales invoices, there is usually a remittance provided by the client that we need to file with the payment.
We shouldn't need to go back to a reconciled transaction and manually add the remittance to each line individually.119 votes -
Lock Dates - Allow old bills/invoices to fall into current accounting period
Once you close a period, pulled all the accounts and happy with the financial position, you close the period to stop posting to that period. But when you receive a old supplier invoice, which has been accrued in, Xero does not allow you to post the invoice without re-opening the period date. This means, you either reverse your accrual journal to post the older invoice, changing the financial position or manully altering the invoice date, to post it into current period. Increases workload and hassle. It also means your supplier account does not mirror with their accounts with dates. Xero should allow invoices to be automatically posted to open period.

New invoicing - Assign next number in sequence when number removed
We bulk upload invoices in advance with "Draft" invoice numbers as we don't know their ultimate sequence for issue. We then assign a chronological invoice number when the invoice is approved and/or saved. In "Classic" invoicing, if I delete the invoice number it automatically assigned the next number in sequence e.g. #INV-0089, however in "New" invoicing if I delete the invoice number is warns me that I need a number and reverts to the original "Draft" number" and not the next chronological number in sequence. This is a significant backward step in functionality, can you confirm this bug will be solve before Classic Invoicing is retired. Thank you. Rene

101 votesHi team, we appreciate the added feedback from you on the behaviours from classic that you'd find useful in new invoicing. The invoice number assignment is still a feature that our teams are continuing to monitor closely. Right now, while we don’t have plans for changing the way invoice numbers are assigned, our product teams are considering future improvements - As part of this they are doing some discovery that we’d love to get your contribution to.
We'd like to invite you to share back though our survey here. Insights from this will help our product teams get a deepened sense of our invoicing users. Thanks

Reconcile period - Ability to attach files
Being able to attach files to a reconcile period. This would be useful to easily reference supporting documents like the statement the period has been reconciled off.
9 votesHi Stephen, appreciate your feedback from this other idea on reconciling to a statement. I've turned this into a new idea that we can begin to track in the forums here and get a sense of the community support for.
Our product team are considering additional functionality including the ability to attach a PDF bank statement to a period however we want to be upfront that we don't have any immediate plans for it just yet. I'll keep you looped in if there are any updates.
