  1. Before the update you could drag and drop directly into a folder in Xero Files. Now you have to drag and drop into the Inbox and then move from there. This created an extra step. It would be great if you could still have the option to drag and drop a document directly into the folder within the archive.

  2. Could we get a PAYG Instalment worksheet please, with an option to tick if a client is a new entrant to the PAYG instalment system and a field where we can enter the expected lodgement date of the tax return. These fields can then drive the PAYG instalment estimate for the current financial year.
    Currently Xero just estimates the instalments for the four quarters which isn't always correct. For example if we lodge a return in November and the client is entering the PAYG instalment system for the first time, there's no way to zero out the September quarter without…

  3. When doing the year end processes, an accountant should be able to unlock the period for their log in only ie 'unlock for me only' as if the client or others have the same user access, they can change the accounts while we are working.

    Appreciate your sharing on lock date controls. Being able to remove lock dates for specific users can help maintain accounting information .

  4. Suggested improvements to Receivable Invoice Detail - Top Customers report.

    The definition of this report is attached. It provides a list of sales invoices and credit notes by contact.

    If a customer has an overpayment on their account, the report incorrectly treats this cash payment as a sales credit note and reduces the customer's sales figure by the overpayment. Please can this report be corrected to only include sales invoices and sales credit notes? Thank you.

  5. Xero have changed the files section and now there is inbox and then archive. All the previous folders clients have are now in the archive section. In order to file something in a folder they now need to move it to the archive section which as this shows all documents, they then have to find the document again and then tick it and use the move to button to move it to the chosen folder. Xero need to add the move to button to the inbox screen otherwise clients are having to do multiple clicks again to move the documents.…

  6. I’d love to see a feature added that helps prevent accidental data loss when entering conversion balances. Currently, if you leave the page without saving, there’s no warning and it’s easy to lose your work. I’d really appreciate a dialogue window that pops up when you try to navigate away with unsaved changes.

  7. In the previous version of Xero, uploading invoices was much faster and more efficient. When uploading an invoice image, we could immediately select whether it was a Sales Invoice or a Bill from the same screen. This saved time and simplified the workflow.

    Another important feature in the old system was the visual indicator: once an image was uploaded and recorded as a Sales Invoice or a Bill, there was a clear mark showing that the document had already been categorized. This provided transparency and reduced the risk of duplicate entries.

    Hi Sara, just to check are you saying you'd like a widget in the practice side to view who last reconciled a client organisation?

    Totally get needing to check in on who may have performed a reconciliation - Atm, within a clients org you'll be able to run the History & notes. Once run, you can do a quick search for 'Reconciled' which will show all recent reconciliations from users.

  9. Add the ability to sort by Account. This is helpful when reviewing transactions in bulk to double check that rules have been applied correctly.

    Also improve the logic currently used to sort. It should sort A-Z followed by blanks OR start with blanks and then follow Z-A. In the screenshot you'll see I'm sorting on Description but it has sorted the transactions by Date first and THEN Description, leading to a sort view that isn't helpful.

  10. 🚀 Xero Team — Please Bump This Up the Chain!

    There’s a huge opportunity right now for Xero to capture market share from QBO in the U.S. — but one major blocker is the limited integration between Xero and Double (formerly Keeper), the practice management app so many bookkeepers rely on.

    Keeper (now Double) users are a massive segment of the bookkeeping community, and many of us are ready to move our firms and clients off QBO — but we need assurance that the seamless workflow and automations we have in Keeper/QBO will carry over to Keeper/Xero.

  12. It would be good to customise the new JAX auto bank reconcile feature. Eg reconcile bank rules only.
    The clients that would benefit most from this new feature are the ones that have large volumes of unpaid items on the purchase or sales ledger so whilst it would be great to auto reconcile the rules I wouldn't want the AI "having a go" at matching bank transactions to open bills or invoices.

  13. I’d like to suggest a small but valuable feature update:

    When we search for a bank memo, description, or reference in bank transactions or account transactions (e.g., “UberBV”), Xero does return the transactions, but the categorized account (account head) is not visible in the search results.

    In MYOB, when performing the same search, the results also show the categorized account, which helps identify how transactions were coded in the past. This saves time and ensures consistency during reconciliations.

    Hi Abrar, thanks for the thoughtful suggestion and the screenshots showing the account code used when reconciling the bank statement lines. We’ve shared your feedback with the team so they can consider this in future improvements. In the meantime, it’d be great to hear from others who’d benefit—please add your vote and any specific scenarios where this would save time in your workflow. In the meantime as a short-term workaround, run the Account Transactions report for the Bank account and add the Related account column to see where each transaction was coded ✨

  15. Prior to the new XPM update, viewing a group provided a detailed breakdown of each client's business structure. The new layout simplifies this into broad categories (individual, company, trust, partnership, other), meaning you now have to click into each client to see the specific details. For example, 'other' represents a range of options such as departing client, on hold due to non-payment, or a non-client entity. This makes it harder to understand a client's status at a glance.   16. It would be great to bring back the collapsible custom fields in XPM when editing client details. This previously made it much easier to jump between headings. With the new tabbed layout, all custom fields now appear in one long list with no distinction between headings, which means a lot more scrolling to find the fields we need to update.

  17. Hubdoc is able to extract bank statement data and convert to csv file for supported US and Canadian banks.

    It would be incredibly useful to have this for UK banks as well.

  20. Have Xero collect and pay the tax directly to the IRD on clients behalf. A little bit like Hnry, but do it better. Would be great for small business/contractors etc. IRD have really struggled to collect tax/gst in specific industries like construction and hospo
