  1. Create timesheet availability to Contractors set up in Xero payroll as Non employee.
    Currently this is only available to employees.

    Require the ability to process timesheets to pay Subcontractors for hours worked on site so Super is taken into account but PAYG is not applicable.
    Currently not available to STP2 category Contractor 'Non Employees'

  2. Multi select or more filter options when processing superannuation payments. This would expediate processing super payments for large employers. For example, you should be able to filter the super payment to show only last month super and select all and submit for payment. At the moment, if we want to process the previous month's super, we have to manually unselect each employee super that relates to the next month or quarter that we aren't required to pay yet.

  3. Allow employees to edit/cancel approved leave if it's not yet been taken. Any changes should be resubmitted to the approver.

  5. Accrued Earnings Payroll item in Payroll

    We need to record a Project Incentive Payment as an accrual on payslips. These accruals vary per project with some accrued hourly, daily or weekly and are paid at the end of the project.

    The Accrued Earnings payment would be setup in Payroll Settings, with a running total displayed on payslips.

    Hi everyone, thanks for all of your valuable feedback on this idea. The number of detailed comments clearly show how important this feature is for many of you.

    We also agree that this would add significant value to Xero Expenses. That’s why we’re pleased to update the status of this idea to Accepted. This means we have reviewed your feedback and it aligns with our product vision.

    While it is a feature we’d like to build, it’s not currently on our roadmap, so we can't provide a delivery timeframe just yet. We will share another update on this thread as soon as we have more news.

  7. Allowing the payslips to be emailed before posting to HMRC to check for any errors would be great. We have multiple users involved in the payroll data input and there are usually one or two errors as there are many expenses claims. Being able to do this would make life so much easier for us.

    Thanks for your interest and feedback on this idea, everyone. Currently, you can View Payslips from within the draft pay run by clicking into Options > View Payslips.

    From here you could download and email the payslips from outside Xero.

    Though no plans at present, if anything changes in this space, we’ll update you on this idea.

  8. Payroll - Leave Liability Report to include Time in Lieu or Time Banked. For Companies that choose to offer Time in Lieu to their employees, this will be extremely helpful for reporting purposes. Also if it was available in Excel would be great. Thanks.

  9. In XERO as at today when you set up a salary sacrificed arrangement, the amount being sacrificed by the employee will be added onto the employer's contribution and appear under the employer's field for reporting purposes.

    But when you need to submit the pension report to the pension provider portal you will need to separate employee and employer contribution. It will be much easier to download the report, at least from the pension filings option, that shows all the breakdown of all information as it needs to be so it can just be uploaded in the pension provider portal without…

    Thanks everyone for your continued feedback on the need for a Leave Balances Report in UK Payroll. We appreciate you all taking the time to vote, comment, and share how this feature would improve your workflow.

    Currently the options for viewing this information is via individual payslips or within each employee’s leave tab.

    As part of a wider review into improving UK Payroll reporting, we’re moving the status of this idea to Accepted. We agree a Leave Balances Report is a valuable addition and it’s something we want to address.

    While it isn’t on our immediate roadmap right now, it is formally on our radar for consideration as we plan future payroll updates. We will share another update here when we have more news on our plans.

  11. It would be great if we could pay our employees similar to how we can process a batch payment in XERO for bills. At the moment I am having to go into the bank account at the end and pay each employee individually.

    Is there another way to do this ? I may be missing something.

    Hi team, we appreciate wanting to make flows as efficient as possible and this would simplify making payments to your employees.

    While this isn't possible right now, we have a close eye on all the ideas in the forums here and will continue to track the interest in this closely.

  12. Xero Me - Needs spot in App to input the Earnings Rate and Tracking Category for the employee. Needs a start/stop button for clocking in/out so that when the employee starts the day they simply press start and the app records the time started. When they press stop it records the stop time until the start time is pressed again. This can be used for breaks and for start and finish of the day - these can be edited if someone forgets.   13. Could we please have an option to add a second emergency contact for our employees.

    Currently when creating a new employee we only have one space for an emergency contact. However, in the case of an actual emergency only one contact may not be enough, a second contact gives a much higher chance of being able to get in contact with someone.

    We appreciate being able to easily add a secondary emergency contact to the details tab of the employee record is important to you. 

    Atm, you could use the notes tab to add a new note to the employee record and include the details in here.

    To be open we don't have direct plans for making this change within the details tab any time in the near future. 

  14. It would be really helpful if there was a report that showed the actual amount of hours worked per month per individual and as a total. Our company has busy seasons, as well as quiet seasons and having a report like this would help us in planning our staffing situation.

  16. When a leave request comes in for approval and the employee can take leave in advance (the box is ticked), it should show you how many hours the employee has available. This amount should be the number available minus the leave balance that has already been approved in the system. The leave balance report is only useful when employees can't take leave in advance in their first year.     Hi everyone, thanks for voting and your detailed comments on this idea.

    We understand the challenge of having to navigate away from the approval screen to find an employee's leave balance. Providing this information directly within the approval screen could streamline the process and reduce the risk of approving leave that results in a negative balance.

    The good news is that our product team's reviewed this idea and recognise the value it would deliver. It's something they’d like to work on in the long term. It's not on the roadmap just yet but we'll update you when we're able to bring more focus to this idea.

  17. To assist organisations to be able to carbon offset km travelled, we should be able to pull a report from Expense Claims in an Excel format so we can add the amount of miles/km travelled to figure out travel footprint.

  18. ATO Category pay items of Directors Fees should be able to be the Ordinary Earnings Rate for employees. Currently only the ATO category Ordinary Time Earnings can be the Ordinary Earnings rate for employees.
    Whilst adding a zero Ordinary Earnings Rate solves the problem, it leaves the processing of pays open to input errors unnecessarily

  20. STP2 - Splitting allowances for all purpose from the hourly rate

    We have employees with all purpose allowances - ie it forms part of the base hourly rate and extrapolates in to overtime rates and annual leave loading. I now have to take it out of the rate and pay as separate line items including overtime and annual leave multipliers.

    Is Xero in their pay templates going to make changes to say have a tick box to indicate an add on allowance to the rate so regardless of the pay lines (that are set up as such) they multiply they…

    Hey community 👋 thanks for the interest in this idea! 


    Just to clarify, when creating a new allowance pay item, you'll have the options to 'Contribute towards annual leave rate' and 'contributes towards overtime rate'.


    This setting will include allowance type pay items in the calculation of annual leave and overtime rates. 


    I can see the main request here was a 'box to indicate an add on allowance'. 


    Can you confirm if this tick box in payroll settings solves that request?
