NZ Payroll - Add bereavement Leave as a permanent leave item
Have Bereavement Leave as a permanent leave item when a new employee is setup.
Hi there, we appreciate this was raised a little while ago. Bereavement leave is a default leave type that already exists in NZ Payroll.
As you’ve found, payroll admins need to set up all employees' leave eligibility manually. Automated leave eligibility isn't something we have plans for in the near term.
Since this hasn't received much support from other members, we’ll soon remove this from Product Ideas. If this is still highly valuable to you, you’re welcome to start a new thread to see if it gains renewed interest.

As a legal requirement in NZ bereavement leave should be assigned automatically when staff are setup in Xero payroll. This is such a waste of everyone's time when someone needs to take bereavement leave but it hasn't been assigned.
