  1. Its a small change but something that bugs me as i do it at least once, sometimes twice, a day.

    Currently the "trust this device" check box is below the login button. If logging in solely on a keyboard you have to enter 2fa code, tab twice and hit the space bar to check the trust this device box then shift tab to go back up to the login button. So the keystrokes are enter 2fa, tab, tab, space, shift tab, enter

    Hi Shane, we're grateful for your engagement and for sharing this idea to improve the login experience.

    We've reviewed your suggestion to move the 'Trust this device' option, and it can now gain support from other community members.

    Along with votes, others can now comment to share additional detail about how this change could improve their daily workflow in Xero.

  2. I think the time has come to invest in AI, as a accounting software leader (Xero). Many people invest their money in AI software, like accountants, to do better / more accurate and faster budgets, forecasting (cash/accrual) mixed with different scenario's, transaction reconciliations and presentations of data/information and graphs. This usually in excel; outside the accounting software, where mistakes are likely to happen. I am not in IT, or software development/integrations, so I do not have an idea what this type of investment would cost, but my gut feeling is it would be worth it.

    Like your forward thinking, Johan. 

    As Freya mentioned there is some AI going on in Xero already with the way Xero makes suggestions to help you reconcile your bank account. 

    We recently shared some insights with our customers on our approach to generative AI with Xero and you can read more about this on our blog

    Later this year you'll see Just ask Xero (JAX) be introduced and I'll round back to share once this is available. 

  3. As you’ve found, right now it’s not possible to only show the organisations logo or to remove the organisation name from the email. This would help in customizing what is shown to recipients/clients.

  4. My firm works with additional bookkeepers, and we do not want to have their business or personal emails displayed in our clients files.

    Ideally, they would be behind the scenes and would just show our practice as connected.

    Next best would be showing first name or first and last name, but no email address.

    We can assign them an email address from our firm for a more professional appearance, but often their certifications follow their own business/personal email addresses.

    Appreciate why you'd like to be able to group some users that are logging into client organisations to perform admin under a single login, however from an audit pov would also need to make sure that actions could be traced back to the individual user.

    Being upfront this isn't something we have plans for atm.

    It would be good to get a wider interest through this idea, so make sure to share this with others colleagues that would find this useful.

  5. For the 'approve and pay' user the remittance function is limited. They should have the functionality to send remittances on a batch payment and also be able to access the remittance button at a later date. An admin member of staff needs access to the full remittance capability in order to complete their duties fully.

  6. Given there is an option to 'Export Accounting Data' in 'General Ledger format', why is there no corresponding facility to Import in 'General Ledger Format '? I have a client with many problem transactions locked by accountants. The solution is to start again with a copy of the accounts, which involves splitting the exported data into several different import templates.

    Appreciate wanting to make the process of setting up a new Xero org, especially in the scenario you've mentioned as simple as possible, Kevan.

    While this may be something we look at longer term I want to be open that we don't have any plans for a single import across all areas of Xero right now.

    There are third party app partners available through our Xero app store that you may like to engage if you'd like help in this migration and set up process.

    We'll keep getting a sense of community interest from your idea here and share if there are any updates planned.

  7. Update the search box to allow for search phrases to rank within the search box...not just exact matches. it's not particularly beneficial for a search query to result ONLY the exact match if you're searching for a match and probably don't know the exact phrase for a contact/business/customer.

    For example,

    "Jack Jones" produces no results when the contact is actually "John Jones".

    Searching "Jack Jones" should produce a result with all contacts that include either "jack" or "jones". Producing no results is not an accurate representation of the total database.

  8. On the Account Watchlist in the Dashboard, I would like to display a custom budget that I created for 2024 in lieu of the default 'overall budget' that it shows. Please make this feature possible as it will provide a good, quick snapshot on how we're trending to budget w/out having to pull up reports. An alternative would be to tag a custom budget as the 'default' that would appear in the accounts watchlist. Regardless, let's make this happen! Thanks for considering.

  9. Feature: I'd like to be able to format the [Due Date] field when it's included in email templates.

    Use Case: My standard emails include a line which reads "This invoice will be due for payment by 09 Oct 2023". I have to reformat the date to a more readable style every time.

    Basic Outcome: Using standard date formatting you should be able to express the date as "Monday 9 October, 2023" - note that the leading "0" on the date number has been omitted, and also the inclusion of a comma after the month.

  10. On the Dashboard can Awaiting Payment, Display Current Month and Future as Two Separate Lines. At first glance we want to see what is happening this month, for example are the Receivables greater than Payables this month. Currently the Totals include all future Receivables and Payables. This is difficult especially when Directors are viewing via Mobile, although it's still a problem via PC.

  11. When resizing my browser window, many of the Xero screens (including Bills, Timesheets, Invoices) do not resize. Instead they chop off on the right hand side. There is not even the option of a slider to get over to the right.

    I have tested this across two browsers IE and Chrome. Frequently I am working on a laptop with a small screen and this is really annoying. I would rather they scale up or down when I make my browser larger or smaller.

  12. Many of my clients complain that they 'can't find what they are looking for' when using the top search bar facility. I too often struggle to find things unless I am specific and know the exact detail of a posting. A search return of more options would be very beneficial listing all transactions in relation to any word or value typed into the search bar.

    Hi team, appreciate the continued engagement in the idea here, apologies I've not returned to update before now.

    I want to be upfront that we don't have any plans for changing the logic of search results in the near term. However, I felt it might help to explain how this is working at present to understand results you may be seeing - Global search considers several factors in deciding which results to display, and in what order. These factors include, but aren't limited to:

    • Document type – Document types searched most often get priority in the order of the search results. Contacts and invoices appear at the top of the results, as they’re the most popular search.
    • Term frequency – The frequency the term you search for appears in the document.

  13. We would like our auditors / account reviewers to have Read Only access to our accounts in Xero however this does not enable them to view Xero Files, which is where we save our bank statements, etc.

    Currently we need to give them Standard Access so that they can have access to the documents in Files, however this also gives them the ability to change the accounts as well.

    We would like to suggest the Xero files be added to users with Read Only access.

  14. Amend the Standard user level to have the ability to delete draft asset draft transactions. If an invoice has been incorrectly entered and allocated to asset account and the information pushed through to draft assets, the standard user, who made the error should be able to correct it. They are able to correct the invoice side of things, but this does not remove it from the draft asset list, and they are unable to delete. Standard users have the permissions to delete draft bills and invoices, and even bank lines and statements.. but not draft assets?

  15. It would be great to be able to limit the accounts that show based on whether they have a value that is not 0. This would be useful for PAYG Payable, Superannuation Payable, Suspense accounts etc.

    Instead of a long list of accounts with 0 balances, it would allow the user to only see the account that have a value.

  16. Allow to change user name for a specific email, without changing the name on 'ALL" historical notes on profiles.
    Currently, if i have a new user/employee doing the same roll and a previous user/employee, with the same email/log in; if i change this user name, ALL of the notes for that email account log in get changed to the current user name, so it is difficult to make out who actually made that/those notes without looking at the dates to work out when that person/started or left the role!

    Hi team, appreciate the interest and clarification that we've received through this idea fro customers.

    Right now adding additional placeholders to email templates isn't in our short term plans but we're continuing to follow the interest of this here.

    For the time being I know not the 'set and forget' solution you're after here - you can edit the default email to add the Contact Account Number before sending the invoice.

  19. export graph of bank account - the image of a decreasing bank balance in the form of a graph over a period of up to 6 months is very telling, please could the image already available be accessible as a download so this can be shared with business owners

  20. Would love to see the option to assign an expense approver to multiple expense submitters or even an 'Approvalmax' approver matrix function added to Xero Expenses. Currently using Xero Expenses to administer over 100 employees expenses and need stronger controls than central finance approving all. Happy to help design/ test!

    Hi everyone, we appreciate the number of users that'd like to see more mechanisms to assign and control who approves specific employee's claims.

    Our product teams have a close eye on this idea, and while this feature is not in the roadmap atm, they'll keep reviewing this as they continue to plan and prioritise work for Expenses. So, if there us any shift in status we'll share an update to keep you all informed on the idea, here.
