    I’m really disappointed to discover that the Xero Mobile App doesn’t provide any way to view the Balance Sheet - a core financial statement that forms half of any set of accounts and is the backbone of understanding a business’s position.

    As a property developer, tracking CAPEX spends per project is critical, and not having quick access to this information on the go is a significant limitation. Even a simple dashboard or quick-glance view in the app would make a huge difference for users like me who rely on Xero to manage their businesses efficiently.

    Appreciate your feedback here, James. It's good to hear the sort of information our customers would find most handy on the go.

    This isn't something we have direct plans for atm, but we'll get a sens of the interest for viewing the Balance Sheet in the Xero Accounting app from the community here and I'll let you know if there are any plans made.

    Hi everyone, thanks for sharing this idea. We understand that having a quicker way to return to recent searches could help when moving between clients, transactions, and reports.

    The suggestion is to add a recent search history dropdown in the global search bar, making it easier to revisit previous searches without re-entering the same details.

    For now, opening commonly used items in separate browser tabs can help you move between workflows without losing your place. We’ll continue tracking this idea here so the community can share feedback and use cases to help shape future improvements.

  3. Proposed Feature: Quote Only User Role with Restricted Inventory Access

    Introduce a Quote Only user role in Xero that allows a user to create, edit, send and approve quotes while restricting access to all other parts of the system. The user should only see the quotes they created themselves and nothing else.

    The Quote Only user should be able to create quotes, edit their own quotes, send quotes to customers, and view inventory items with read only access. Inventory visibility should include item descriptions, prices, tax settings, and available stock quantities, but the user should not be able to modify…

  4. I’d love to see a feature added that helps prevent accidental data loss when entering conversion balances. Currently, if you leave the page without saving, there’s no warning and it’s easy to lose your work. I’d really appreciate a dialogue window that pops up when you try to navigate away with unsaved changes.

  5. Custom reports as an option the Report drop down. I know we can favourite them, but if we have a lot of custom reports it's quicker just to go to the custom report page immediately and work from there.

    Upcoming changes are very useful. However, a small suggestion re. the home page menu: As an Accountant in practice would like the following order.

    Home
    Accounting
    Sales
    Purchases
    Payroll

  7. I used to be able to sort by login history to see who has been working on which client account. This feature no longer is available it seems. Also, there used to be the ability to see a year's worth of logins, now it's only a few months. Why the change? This doesn't help when we are doing a year's worth of book-keeping for previous periods and I would like the functionality back to what we had in Classic. When using something New, please add and not remove well used and helpful reports and options. Thank you.

  9. This seems like an absolute no-brainer.

    When looking for an invoice or payment, I often copy the amount from a remittance or similar, and it is a frustrating waste of time to have to manually remove the comma.

    This should be easy to implement, and would make the user experience smoother seamlessly.

  10. I am going through a bad divorce and I have to give my ex wife read only access to my company file however i am going against court orders and not giving her access as i know she will take invoices, purchase orders and product sell and buy prices to my competitors once our settlement is complete.

    I need xero to create a read only service that does not show invoices, purchase orders, bills, inventory and also removes the report tab. pretty much just allow her to see bank accounts and where money is getting allocated.

Xero’s current roles (including Read only) are intentionally broad, but we know they’re often too ‘all or nothing’. We can’t give a timeline for specific changes to Read only yet, but the direction is definitely toward more configurable roles and tighter control over what view-only users can see.

The 3 letters that are by the company name are automatically chosen by Xero, we should be allowed to change this to something relevant, for example, my company is called ACR Fabrications Ltd, common sense would dictate those 3 letters should be ACR yet xero has chosen AFL which is obviously the first letter of each part but that's not relevant to my company

  12. Advisor role should be higher authority than standard, ie to be able to override locked period transaction without opening the period. Able to build new/custom report, submit BAS.

    Hi Dina, thanks for sharing this suggestion. We understand why having the Advisor role provide broader capabilities than the Standard role could be valuable for practices managing client files and completing higher-level accounting tasks.

    Currently, some actions still require additional steps outside of the Advisor role, such as making adjustments to locked periods, creating custom reports, or completing certain compliance-related tasks. Having these capabilities available within the Advisor role could help reduce unnecessary workflow interruptions and better reflect the level of access expected from an Advisor user.

    We appreciate the examples shared around how this impacts day-to-day practice workflows. I’ve updated the status of this post to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking feedback and gathering more votes.

  14. Would it be useful to have separate fields for Legal Name and Trading Name? This would separate the Legal Name as registered with ABN and the Trading Name used with Customers?

  15. Find and Recode should not be able to change tax type without fair warnings in Sales Invoices.

    This is a risky feature to be used without warning. I have noticed that it doesn't change the sales invoice, which it shouldn't. But surprise was it could change any invoices selected no matter if those were already issued/ paid/ closed etc.

    Appreciate the added detail, Ankit. Understand how an extra warning and drawing attention to the impact a change could make may help some users.

  16. Bookkeepers and accountants often manage multiple clients, with each client having multiple Xero organisations (e.g. trading entity, trust, SMSF, property entity, or separate business divisions).

    Currently, all Xero organisations are displayed in a single flat list within My Xero, making it difficult to quickly locate the correct organisation for a particular client.

    Proposed Feature

    Introduce the ability to create Client Groups (Folders) within My Xero that allow users to organise multiple Xero organisations under a single client.

  17. Currently our monthly bank revaluation FX diff is being automatically coded by Xero to be split between tracking categories rather than simply being "unassigned". However, for our purposes, once USD are banked, they no longer "belong" to that tracking category and instead are general company funds. It is impossible to tell Xero to stop coding revaluation amounts to tracking categories but this doesn't make sense for the accounts, especially when a tracking category finished within the business months ago. It would make more sense for the FX funds held to be an unassigned tracking category once they are in the…

    Hi Imogen, thanks for sharing your thoughts on multicurrency bank revaluations. We understand how having FX differences automatically assigned to tracking categories doesn’t always fit your workflow.

  19. Your documentation describes Prepayments as "taxable". A "prepayment" in the US (assuming accrual basis) is considered a "deposit" for some future work. The deposit is not a taxable event until the "future work" is completely or partially invoiced, when the sales tax is applied to the amount invoiced. The "deposit" (the "prepayment") paid is merely an amount waiting to be applied as a payment against the invoiced work, in full or in part, and is not in itself a taxable transaction - unless the organization is on the cash basis of accounting.     Hi team, we appreciate all the feedback this idea has received over time. With our reimagined navigation this is something our product teams considered closely, however there is a bit of work involved to achieve what's being asked and we want to be open it's not in the roadmap right now. However, we're keeping a pulse on the feedback here and will be sure to share if there's any progress. Thanks
