User Permissions - Update for Advisor role
Advisor role should be higher authority than standard, ie to be able to override locked period transaction without opening the period. Able to build new/custom report, submit BAS.
1 voteHi Dina, thanks for sharing this suggestion. We understand why having the Advisor role provide broader capabilities than the Standard role could be valuable for practices managing client files and completing higher-level accounting tasks.
Currently, some actions still require additional steps outside of the Advisor role, such as making adjustments to locked periods, creating custom reports, or completing certain compliance-related tasks. Having these capabilities available within the Advisor role could help reduce unnecessary workflow interruptions and better reflect the level of access expected from an Advisor user.
We appreciate the examples shared around how this impacts day-to-day practice workflows. I’ve updated the status of this post to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking feedback and gathering more votes.

Xero Central | Profile - Option to sync profile picture with Xero blue avatar or remove from Xero Central
Currently, you can't change your profile picture in Xero Central - which is bizarre, because you can change it in the "My Xero" profile.
Therefore, in the spirit of "one ledger", surely profile pictures entered manually in My Xero profile should sync your Xero Central profile.

Navigation - Add link to go into Files from the menu
Add button to go straight to Files on top tool bar instead of clicking twice (once on org name) and then Files
5 votesHi Rosemarie, appreciate the ask to minimise clicks when accessing the Files library—those small efficiencies can make a big difference in day-to-day work.
To be upfront, our Product team doesn’t currently have plans to add Files to the menu bar. That said, we’ve moved this idea into Gaining support so the community can add votes and comments, which helps us better gauge overall interest and impact.
In the meantime, a quick tip you might find helpful: pressing the slash key (/ or /?) and then F will show a link to the Files Library that you can click straight away.

Log into more than one company
It would be really useful to be able to log into more than one company on an reference basis only. I'm often in the middle of something when I am asked a question relating to another company by a colleague or client. I have to log out just to find one bit of information. I might have multiple windows open with different reports etc that I then lose. This is also very important when working on related companies to see intercompany loans in both companies at once. Navigation - Add Urgent or Priority to Projects menu
Hi Kelly, concerning projects, I have a thought or idea in seeing HOT Projects or URGENT or PRIORITY Projects in the Projects drop down just like the drop down on the Reporting button that you have Favorite Reports when you create custom reports or when you favorite some of the standard ones. Search - Ability to create and autofill new contact based on search
It would be great if the search option would allow you to click an "add new contact" option if the contact you searched for was not found to smoothly link including the name you input into the appropriate field, without having to go out of search and start from scratch.

Find and Recode - Warning that highlights impact when recoding tax type
Find and Recode should not be able to change tax type without fair warnings in Sales Invoices.
This is a risky feature to be used without warning. I have noticed that it doesn't change the sales invoice, which it shouldn't. But surprise was it could change any invoices selected no matter if those were already issued/ paid/ closed etc.

Xero Accounting App - Access to Demo Company
Since its introduction, the Xero app has had a significantly positive impact on my clients, enhancing their overall accounting experience and improving efficiency in managing their finances. I greatly appreciate the value the platform continues to provide.
However, I would like to raise a concern regarding the absence of the demo company feature on the Xero mobile application. Currently, the demo company is only accessible via the web-based platform, which presents a challenge when demonstrating the app’s capabilities to prospective clients using mobile devices.

Navigation - Freeze bar at the top of the page to save scrolling
Can the main pull down bar (Dashboard, Business, Accounting, Projects, Contacts) be fixed at the top of the page? When viewing a screen that has 100 or more lines, it would be a lot more convenient to have immediate access to this than having to scroll all the way back up.

Permissions - Remove yourself from organisation with expenses only role
Users who only have access to expenses should still be able to ask to have their permissions removed. It is ridiculous that I have access to a company expenses dashboard that I shouldn't because I don't know the subscriber and can't remove myself.

AU Tax - Ability to have a Xero portal link to refer to all documents sent for e-sgning
I would like a link to the Xero portal where tax documents are sent for e-signing. Rather than having to find an email with the link to the Xero portal to e-sign tax documents, it would be helpful for clients to be able to simply click a link within Xero to go back to the Xero portal and see past signed documents or anything that is waiting to be signed.

Can we get a link to log into Syft? We have a link to Hubdoc, why don't we have a link to Syft now?

Search or filter within this product ideas tool for items already voted on.
1 voteAppreciate the feedback on how we could improve these forums for your use, Vince. It'd be great to get more understanding of how being able to filter by vote would help you.
Right now, form within a forum or category there are a few sort options including Hot ideas, Top or New.
Top will sort all ideas within that forum or category by most to least amount of votes. Appreciate, there is no way to do this from search atm though.

Xero Central - Add change logs to Xero Central Support pages
Please include the date that support pages are updated and the version of Xero to which they are applicable.

Organisation settings - Change base currency
It is remarkably convoluted to change the base currency even when no transactions have been posted. It only seems to be possible by cancelling the subscription and starting again. I rely on clients purchasing the software and it is not unknown for them to enter an incorrect base currency. I have used other systems where changing the base currency is very quick and easy. I suggest you make this a little easier.

Permissions - Give Invoice Only users access to Send/Print for approved invoices
Invoice Only User SHOULD have access to "send and print" feature once the Purchase Order were approved. To address this concern, a user should have an access level of Invoice Only + Purchases, however, changing the permission to this level, the inputs made by other users, which might be confidential and unnecessarily to be seen by others, are compromised. I would like to request to add this feature (send and print) for the Invoice Only users.

Giving Invoice Only users the ability to send or print approved invoices has the potential to simplify your workflow and make day-to-day tasks more efficient.
Enabling this functionality would allow the same users who create and approve invoices to also send or print them, reducing handovers and helping your business operate more smoothly. It’s a great example of how a small change can lead to better team autonomy.
Currently, this action is available to users with Standard, Advisor, or Invoice Only – Approve & Pay roles. Expanding this to other Invoice Only roles, such as Draft, Sales, or Purchases could make Xero even more flexible for teams with clearly defined responsibilities.

Online/Offline synching, to enter data when no internet connection.
Offline/Online Syncing Xero Accounting Desktop Program which allows for Backup?
When you dont have internet connection and you need to keep the staff working, obviously the file is not distributed to the cloud, but when the computer gets internet access it Syncs all of its data with the cloud. Xero, when internet connection is lost, you could still use all the same functionality, then once it gets online then it Syncs all the information with the cloud.

If we were to work on a change like this, we'd have to consider the implications this could have if multiple people worked on the same items while they were offline, and how this data would sync when they reconnected to the internet.

Xero Product Ideas - Notifications - enable/disable per post
Currently Product Idea notifications are either enabled or disabled.
Which means I get a ridiculous amount of emails for every single product idea I've ever commented or voted on. And given Xero's inability to actually resolve any of these issues, the number of notifications is going up and up.
Currently, because of the amount of complaints about the new homepage my inbox is full every morning.
I don't want any more notifications reminding me how bad the new home page is. However, I do want notifications on a lot of the other 'Product Ideas' that I am following.

Navigation | Reporting and Accounting tabs together
As an accountant I prefer the Reporting and Accounting tabs together, under one tab as it has always been. It would slow me down, if I had to search for accounting tools/reports under different tabs.
