  1. Add functionality to merge client accounts used to access previously signed returns (via portal.xero.com). This would ensure that when a client updates their email address, their full record of signed tax returns remains intact and accessible through a single login with the new email. This eliminates the need to log in with multiple accounts to view the complete history of signed returns.

  2. Please show the sales tax amounts that will be posted to each account (GST and RST) separately so we can reconcile to the receipt that is calculating properly. It would also be nice if we could manually override this amount as sometimes there is a small rounding difference. I am attaching an example from QBO. Please update your system to also have this functionality.

  3. On the tax computation, the number of associated companies does not show and also the tax calculation ie the reduction of £50k or £250k limit and marginal rate tax calculation. It would be useful, if this is shown on the tax computation so the tax can be explained to clients.

  4. We enter company number, company UTR number, director name when setting up client but why does this not get processed when preparing the company accounts and tax. We need to enter the company number, Company UTR number, Companies House authorisation code and director signing the return every time we want to use XERO tax. Surely there must be a way to simplify this so entering this information every time is a thing of the past.

  5. We need the ability to prepare a future tax return for a SMSF as this is required to wind up a fund prior to year end. A trustee company can't be deregistered with the ASIC until a final tax return is lodged with the tax office so the time delay in preparing a future return impacts the client on annual company statements and costs associated with that as well.

    The ability to prepare a future year return in Xero tax exists for other entity types but not SMSF's for some reason.

  6. When data is imported from Xero HQ or a client’s Xero ledger into Xero Tax, the system automatically appends the Chart of Accounts code to the account name e.g. “Sales (400), even when the underlying Chart of Accounts name field does not contain the code.

    While this improves traceability, it creates unnecessary clutter in the tax return view and workpapers, especially where codes are not relevant for presentation to clients.

    Users also cannot rename or hide the codes within the Xero Tax interface.

  7. Low Value Pool:

    Xero has locked the entry of low value figures taken from Quantity Surveyors Report for rental properties in tax - item D6 and insists on creating low value pool schedule by entering the asset.
    Per advice I received from specialist, I entered the figures and date from the beginning of low value pool e.g. 01/07/2019 with starting amount of $431.00. The following errors and issues come up:
    1. The calculated amount was $162 which was claimed five years ago
    2. On validation Xero gives error and asks for a date in current year i.e. between 01/07/2024 to…

  8. I'm using the "Aged Receivables Detail" and "Aged Payables Detail" reports for helping with accruals and prepayments and it would be extremely handy if you could add "payment date" to the report. Currently this isn't available so I'm having to use the report to identify potential accruals/prepayments and then manually go into each transaction to see when it was paid to then decide if it's an accrual or prepayment.. If the paid date was available in the report, this would save so much time.

  9. Workpaper pack queries email template allows for fields to be added as 'tags' but the available fields/tags is too limited. Please include additional fields/tags, such as contacts first name and allow for a different templates for Organisations and Individuals.

  10. We have multiple Practices with multiple organisations. To add JAX to every single organisation is not even fathomable. A feature that allows users to enable JAX for multiple organisation is needed, it doesn't have to be from Xero HQ, possibly even My Xero would work.

    Thanks for sharing here, Quazar. We're paying close attention to the feedback we're receiving about JAX and I'll be sure to share this back with the team.

    In the meantime it'll be good to get a sense of other practices that'd find this useful here too.

  11. I am hoping it might be possible to create a default for the Agent setting. If this were possible, when we add new clients onto XPM, the Agent field would default to our Agent details, as we only have one Agent to select from.

  12. Currently estimates/quotes require a specific amount of time to be allocated against a specific task for a specific staff member. We need either notifications when total unbilled WIP for a client reaches x amount OR to be able to create a quote/estimate for a total dollar figure across all tasks and staff, and have notifications set when that figure (or % thereof) is reached. This feature is standard in most timekeeping programs and I'm shocked XPM doesn't have it.

  13. You are able to post a dividend with a date in a different year. I don't think it should let you type a date outside of the period. Until you click review it does not flag an error

  15. It would be beneficial for the Bank Reconciliation Status to return positive insights as well. I have attached a rough adjustment for the 'Up to date' flag, and I feel the slight CSS value adjustment here makes it more visible that the Bank Reconciliation is in fact up to date.

  17. When using Xero Practice Manager (XPM) for job management, it’s incredibly difficult to maintain visibility because there’s no audit trail or history log for key actions like:

    • When a job was created or reassigned
    • Who changed the job’s due date or status
    • When a job’s responsibility moved from one team member to another

    This lack of transparency makes it almost impossible to track accountability or performance accurately.

    Why is this so important?
    As a firm, we track job completion and lodgement performance, but without a history log, we can’t see whether a job was reassigned after the due date or…

  18. Revamp of self employment schedule within personal tax. Currently no adjusted profit report to show how you have arrived at the self employment profit on the summary computation report. Also no boxes to enter capital allowances wdv bfwd and no percentage option either to calculate amounts for the year in question on xero tax so a lot of manual work needed to calculate amount claimed in year. Should be automated.

  19. Want to be able to post money received overpayment's to accounts payable.

    At the moment, if a supplier sends back money and we don't yet have the paperwork, to clear the bank rec we need to add as an overpayment (tight closing dates) However, as its money received it automatically gets posted to the sales ledger. It would be good to have the option to post to the payables ledger so this can be allocated here

  20. We need a new report for suppliers that functions as a true detailed ledger with a running balance.

    The Problem: When we need to reconcile an account with a supplier, there is no single, clean report that shows a simple chronological history of all bills and payments. We can run a "Supplier Transaction Report," but it's often not in a simple, statement-style format that's easy to read or send to the supplier.

    We need the Accounts Payable equivalent of the "Detailed Ledger" statement that is also needed for customers.

    Hi Jasmine, thanks for sharing this idea with us. We can see why this would be helpful for some users. Currently, Xero offers the Supplier bill activity report and the contacts Activity statement. While this information is available on the account transaction report,it is not available in a Statement format. We've moved this idea to Gaining support so that other users who want this idea implemented can vote for it as well. You may share this idea with your colleagues to get more traction!
