  1. Client Information - Trusts - Additional Contacts - as we now have to have all Trustees IRD numbers for Trust tax returns, would it be possible to please add a line for Trustees IRD numbers in addtional conatcts?

    Hey Lynette 🙂

    Thanks for sharing this idea — I can see why having a field for Trustees’ IRD numbers under Additional Contacts would be helpful when preparing trust tax returns, especially now that all trustees’ IRD numbers are required.

    We’re moving this idea to Gaining Support so we can better understand how many practices would benefit from this and the different workflows involved.

    Now all that's needed is to share the Idea with your colleagues and friends so they can Vote and Comment!

  2. Currently only administration level can import disbursements and such things. To give a staff member access would mean they also receive access to staff details and such things. Disbursements, especially bulk disbursements, is a task that is not and should not be done by upper management, to limiting access to them is problematic.

  3. Staff Permission Filter In XPM/HQ

    A filter that allows admin user to be able to select a certain XPM permission and see which staff in the business have access to it.

    Also, being able to update staff permission in bulk or by group/team

  4. It's great that XPM now has standard fields for Date of Death, additional email addresses (on the client file) and additional physical addresses, however, we cannot run a report to show those fields.

  5. Add the end date column into Recurring jobs view so that you see the jobs that are not active and sort by that column. The job may have a current next date but it has actually been ended with an end date and you cannot tell from the main view without clicking into the job.

  6. Add toggle on tax return cover page at daytime contact number section for client phone number or agent phone number similar to postal address and banking details and have information from client manager auto filled for phone number and email address

  7. We need a centralised user management solution for add-ins/apps. What is in place now is too unwieldy once you have more than a few clients. Apps are an important part of the Xero proposition and add tremendous value to the platform. The solution would allow clients and practices to manage users across Xero and the apps enrolled for, which would save significant amounts of time and be much more efficient than what is in place right now i.e. having to set-up users indivdually in each app.

  8. Relationships: Adding the correct group structure while distributions still being able to flow to the right tax entity

    We have a company called Sample Company Pty Ltd. The shares of that company are held by Share Company Pty Ltd on behalf of Beneficiary Trust. We should be able to put in that Share Company Pty Ltd is a shareholder of Sample Company Pty Ltd but that the distribution flows through to the ultimate shareholder Beneficiary Trust. Right now, we have to put that Sample Company Pty Ltd has a shareholder Beneficiary Trust which is not actually correct. Xero currently has…

    We appreciate that with date of death now available as a field on a client record that some users would like to see this automatically pull through to the relevant tax return.

    While we don't have direct plans of this right now we're keen to get a sense of interest in this from our partners in community.

  10. Our understanding is that it should not be necessary to amend the year-end date at Companies House in order to file an accounting period that falls within −7/+7 days of the year end, as doing so would constitute an extension of the accounting period, which we would prefer to avoid.

    At present, Xero does not support this scenario, nor does it offer an alternative recommended approach. It would therefore be helpful if Xero could address this limitation.

    The only workaround we can see available is to change the year-end date to the 30th or 31st where it is not already…

  11. Develop a booking calendar that integrates with our XPM client database. At the moment we have to run two different databases for the same information, to schedule bookings for clients with accountants/block out time for jobs.

  12. Currently the practice entity Xero blue file cannot be linked to a 'client' within the client list under the practice. This means users are unable to generate a workpaper pack for the practice.

    Our Practices need to be compliant too, if we are unable to use workpapers within the system, we have to find another solution for our workpapers

    There needs to be the ability to link the practice organisation to an entity within the client list.

  13. We would like to have an option for a Tax Return that has been deleted off the system to effectively sit in a recycle bin before it is immediately deleted off. Would also like to suggest having the ability to see a report for any such returns that are deleted off to see who has done it and the date.

  14. To have a "history" tab on a client that would show when someone has made a change to something (an address, a phone number/client details) along with who would have archived a client on the system.

    The history tab would be a great aspect for support hub team members so they can ask that person if there is an issue or to see a date and time that this has happened to then liase with the client.

  15. Classic Workpapers - the Ability to export workpapers to pdf in Bulk. In preparation for the end of the classic workpaper, so that we can upload to our document management system for future reference and audit requirements.

  16. One thing that's particularly frustrating to me about the new UI is the non-collapsible view for relationships. We have clients that are part of big groups with lots of relationships, and it now looks very cluttered, and quite annoying when we have to scroll down.

    Please restore the drop-down view (and change back to the smaller font too) 🙏

  17. I've just spent too long going through the client record fields to figure out that the reason that the record wouldn't save was a duplicate client code. Before the update, XPM would pop up with something like "client code already in use" or "TFN not valid". Now, there's no message at all. Please restore the error messages!

    Further, please restore the ability to update related client addresses all at once.

It would be great to be able to create our own reports using any datas available in the system and not be restricted to the pre-existing one : my need is to mix some information from the payables with information from the third party card but I cannot do that directly in the solution I need to export both and do it in excel.

  19. Currently, Practice Information (which contains key firm-wide settings, addresses, and details) appears to be missing a direct link in the main navigation menu (the left-hand sidebar).

    Issue: Users must navigate through multiple menus or settings screens to find and update core firm details.

    Request: Please add a clear, direct menu item for Practice Information to the main vertical menu bar for easy and immediate access.

    Implementing these changes would be a significant quality-of-life improvement for all XPM users. Thank you for considering this feature request!

  20. Since the recent XPM update in Nov/Dec 2025, the balance date for new clients is now auto-populating as January. For the majority of New Zealand clients, the balance date is March, so defaulting to January is not practical.

    If the balance date is going to be auto-populated, it should default to March rather than January to better reflect common NZ reporting periods.
