  1. For the report templates, would it be possible to include a tax computation as part of the Annual Financial Statements? This schedule would show the income tax calculation for the year as well as the resulting tax asset or liability at year-end.

  2. Would it be possible to create an annual CIS subcontractor statement, showing the Gross, CIS deductions and net payments for all 12 months in the tax year please?

    Hi team, we appreciate interest in a specific annual CIS statement. While this isn't in our immediate plans right now you can run the CIS Contractor return for a custom date range.

    If you then select individual subcontractors and download this will be the annual statement.

    We'll continue to track interest from community in the idea here and if there's any news will share for you all.

  3. The current Tracking Summary Report is quite inflexible. I'm unable to filter by Account Code, edit the report layout, nor save as a custom report. It would be good if this report design could be refreshed to include these features, and to bring the report inline with the newer style reports.

  4. Budget manager currently only allows you to include actuals for 3m, 6m and 12m. Most businesses do quarterly forecasts and hence also need 9m....why isn't this included as a default option ?? It should be...please !

    We’ve seen your feedback on Budget Manager—thanks for sharing it. A 9-month actuals option could support quarterly forecasting.

  5. Some fixed assets have certain business use percentage. And this would be very much helpful for reporting purposes especially in the financial statements attaching the fixed asset recon report showing the business use percentage

    Hi Krizza, we understand how having a Business Use Percentage column available in the Fixed Asset Report would make it easier to review and present asset information, particularly for assets with both private and business use.

    While Xero currently applies the business use calculation in the background, having the percentage visible directly in the report would help reduce the need to check individual asset records.

    We’ve updated the status to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest and share the feedback with our product team.

  6. Please can advisers have a more in depth way to search for a particular change. The history & notes filters need an "edited date range" and a filter to search in a particular area e.g. "Bank", "Bills" Invoices"

    e.g. for context:
    Scenario:
    Bank was fully reconciled after a conversion to Xero and remained so up to the end of November 2025 with reconciliation report printed. i.e. at the beginning of December 2025 the November 2025 bank reconciliation fully balanced and matched to the bank statement.

    Hi everyone, thanks for sharing this idea and outlining your use case. We understand you’re looking for an easier way to search through History & Notes when reviewing changes or investigating balance differences.

    The suggestion is to add more advanced filtering options, such as date ranges or transaction types, to help narrow down specific changes without manually reviewing the full history.

    For now, reports like the Bank Reconciliation Summary and Journal Report can help investigate adjustments and changes. We’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can track interest and help our product teams understand the value of improving History & Notes search.

  7. The new menu format makes it necessary to scroll across to see ANY details for journals with long titles, instead of being able to see everything at a glance. Either wrap the titles by default or give us a toggle option to do so.

    Maybe this is just me, but I preferred having 'Description' first, followed by Account/Debit/Credit etc. when creating or reviewing a journal. If the new layout must be the default going forward, at least give us the option to rearrange columns as we can for Reports.

  8. I note that HMRC does not offer a submission receipt for MTD for ITSA. Could Xero generate a PDF stating that the return has been filed, as other than taking a screenshot we have nothing we are able to send to the client confirming the return is submitted

  9. One thing I really like in the new Organisation menu is the search bar. When you click the organisation name, the cursor automatically lands in the search field, so you can start typing straight away. It makes switching between orgs quick and seamless.

    It’d be great to see this same experience in the new Reporting menu. Favouriting reports is useful, but it doesn’t cover every scenario. For power users, being able to click into the Reporting menu and have the cursor automatically placed in a search field - just like in the Organisation menu - would make it much faster…

  10. Custom Reports Formatting & Formulas

    1 - more options like spacers (not just page breaks), lines, section dividers
    2 - text box more flexible = between lines, not just at the beggining and end of the whole reports
    3 - allow formulas to display text results (if statements), not just numbers

  11. I would like to suggest changing Effective Life (Yrs) from Year to Month.
    From our side, we have several assets with a useful life results in an uneven number when expressed in years—for example, 16 months (i.e., 1.33 years).

    Entering useful life in months would be more practical and would help avoid rounding issues when calculating depreciation.

    Hi Van, thanks for submitting this idea. We understand why having the option to enter an asset’s effective life in months could be helpful, especially for assets with shorter or more specific depreciation periods.

    The idea is to allow users to set asset effective life using months instead of converting them into years or decimal values, making fixed asset setup more straightforward and reducing manual calculations.

    We encourage the community to vote on this idea if you'll find it useful.


  12. History on Fixed asset settings (the global settings that control depreciation rules) - If any changes are done to the default effective life or rate setting(applied to new assets) Xero does not log those setting changes in the History and Notes. Add a History tab within Fixed Asset Settings timestamped log of “effective life default changed from 5 years to 7 years”. Also if any changes are done to the default settings an option to bulk change all assets changed to the previous effective rate without manually editing them.

    Thanks for your idea, Imelda. Appreciate how this note in the history could be useful for businesses.

    This isn't something we have plans for right now, but make sure to share your idea with others that could benefit and we can get a better sense of demand here.

    In terms of the second request you've made we have another idea around bulk edit of assets that you may like to join and can stay updated of any progress through.

  13. It would be useful to be able to add intangible assets to the Fixed Asset Register and actually have them classified as intangible assets on the register, rather than everything being classed as a tangible asset as it is currently. Then you could expand on this and allow setting for annual impairment write-offs or amortisation policies.

    Hi Jake, thank you for bringing this suggestion to the community. We understand why having a dedicated way to manage intangible assets could be valuable, especially when you’re tracking items like software, patents, trademarks, or other non-physical assets. Keeping these records separate from physical fixed assets can help make reporting and compliance reviews much clearer.

    Currently, Xero Fixed Assets is primarily designed around physical assets and depreciation.

    One option for now is to create custom asset types and map them to the relevant accounts in your Chart of Accounts. While this does not provide a separate amortisation workflow, it can help you keep these assets organised and track their values over time.I’ve updated the status of this post to Gaining Support so we can continue to gather feedback and votes.

  14. Currently visual dashboards are not available on tablet or mobile. It would be good for them to be available for reporting-on-the-run.

  15. Display account and GST status when viewing account transactions page

    Another post said "While Xero works on failed AI features like Jax and auto reconcile which no one asked for... basic features like this are missing and causing suffering." I agree.

    Seems dumb Xero does not display the essentials of a transaction.

    Like most people, I spend > 60% of my time coding and checking for correct account and GST status, so why not have those displayed when the data is very easy to show. Just add those columns.

  16. Being able to print off the reports in the 'edit' mode so you can see the expanded breakdown of the accordian would be very helpful to ensure that Notes match Statements of Financial Performance and Position (especially useful for our juniors who often can't work out where their subcodes are if there have been reporting changes)

  19. It would be useful to be able to automatically import the individual partner profits from partnership tax directly in the partnership schedule within personal tax. This would increase efficiency and reduce the likelihood of errors.

  20. I would like the ability to stop repeat journals set to "post" from posting automatically and edit them to generate as "draft".

    I can't see a way to do this currently and have to delete and re-create which is tiresome
