  1. Under the GL Summary Report(new) and GL Detailed Report (new), i notice they run by account code in alphabetical order as a result of which some Balance Sheet and P/L items are mixed together.

    How can i run both the above reports in a way whereby all the Balance Sheet items are on top in alphabetical order follow by all the P/L items thereafter in alphabetical order

    Can anyone help

  2. Need a way to format the 'xero standard report and then have that formatting flow through to all of the common formats. It takes WAY too long to create SO many custom reports and it is restricting on reporting. We should be able to format the way we want the P&L to always show and then have that flow through to all reports.

  4. Hi,
    Something that would be very helpful as an accountant, is the ability to run a report for a given date which shows all the transactions where the VAT was claimed/paid on a later return. I know that the VAT reconciliation report doesn't work with MTD.

    Hi everyone, we appreciate why you’d like a report that provides visibility of VAT late claims to streamline your reconciliation processes, especially around year-end and for monthly VAT returns.

    Currently, it's possible to use the Account Transactions report to manually reconcile against filed VAT returns, although we get the desire for a more automated solution.

    This isn’t on the team’s roadmap at present, however this is something we'll continue to consider how we accommodate these needs in future planning for tax reports in Xero. I'll be sure to let you know if there is any movement to share, here.

  6. Manual Journal - Copy details from line above- this is a tool in Sage so please could you consider it? :) it's a nifty action & allows a one click solution to repeat account & tracking categories and is especially useful for large entries such as payroll journals.

  7. It would be nice to have the ability to add/remove the arrows from Variance Reports. Some clients don't like them and only want to see the dollar value.

  8. Can we please extend the budget manager period from 12 months to more than 3 years or whatever is possible? The data in the budget manager does not go beyond 12 months and if the budget is to be changed after a year of upload it doesn't have such access.
    When working for a movie/film-making company the budget runs for more than 12 months and it needs to be changed time and again. But Xero doesn't have such an option which makes it impossible to get an accurate variance.
    It would be great help.

  9. Report similar to Approved_sentand_paid which shows receipts (Payments & credit) for a specified week and not including previous part payments in the Payment and credits collum. The report should match our banking / receipts for that specific week including part payments.

  10. Showing profit of Loss on Trial Balance (at both Client XERO Blue and advisor) Reports

    At present the trial balance report does not show profit or loss, can or will XERO recode the report in client reports(XERO Blue) and in the advisor templates. This is something I believe all accountants and bookkeepers will welcome the change, as the would improve workflow.
    Please refer to trial balance from competitors software (has printed that way for over 30 years)

  11. I've noticed when an account gets a negative balance (such as an asset) that the balance sheet moves it to liabilities. I also noticed that, although I put "Other Income" at the end of the account list (with a account number of 7000) it still shows up in the income section. Proper accounting reports show "Other Income" and "Other Expense" at the bottom of the balance sheet. Additionally, if an asset account gets a negative balance for some reason it should NOT be moved to liabilities. Please fix this.

  12. If you create a report in the custom tab rather than the adviser tab in error, it would be good to be able to either lock it so it has as restricted access to that custom report almost as though it's password protected (ie only the creator can see for example) or have the facility for it to be moved to the adviser tab to allow it to have restricted access to advisers only.

  13. Currently, apart from rolling back depreciation prior to the first asset being allocated to an Asset Type, it isn't possible to update the accounts code without a lot of hassle.

    For example, a general depreciation code may have been assigned to an Asset Type. If you would like to update this to a specific code, e.g. "Depreciation - Plant & Equipment", it is a difficult process with the potential for unintended changes to prior years.

    As a result, a common workaround is having to do a journal to reallocate the depreciation amount for each period. However, if you could simply…

  14. Xero Reporting - Please add functionality to Right Align text in custom tables in notes.

    Also, Lots of white space on Depreciaiton schedules making text very small. Add functionality to drag column lines much like excel.

  15. Can we please add a budget column to the statement of cash flows report. I find this report (once customised to reveal all account codes) very useful for showcasing cash received vs spend on taxes, assets, liabilities and business expenses. To be able to set a budget in the budget manager for cash flow will save hours preparing manual cash flow forecasts outside of xero.

  18. I would be good to be able to carry out data analysis of each nominal code and therefore group the account transactions by month with totals rather than by week which will ultimately tie back to the P&L. This would make it useful when carrying out data analysis from the P&L.
