Invoice Reporting (Payables) - Ability to include Planned Date as a separate column
In the new reports you can run a report, by supplier, of invoices that are due and planned to be paid, which is great. There is a differentiation between due and planned in both screen detail and reporting. The schuduled/planning option enables users or managers to plan which invoices they wish to pay either by viewing on Xero or running in a report. However, the reporting option puts the two together by adding in an invoice wiht the same due date, if a planned date has not been entered. This means that invoices not scheduled/planned to be paid are included…

Reporting - Expenses by contact report option to filter i.e supplier addresses/location/postal code
Broken down to location/ postal code with the total cost for a contact/supplier in any period is needed.
I am aware 'the expenses by contact' gives you the total spend in a year but this doesn't filter down to location/ addresses or post code. At year end a key part of our process is reporting local suppliers for our social impact and purpose, we have to complete a time consuming exercise entering addresses/location manually line by line for key suppliers in excel. This information is reported to our Board of Directors, to our Group Board and as part of our…3 votes -
Short term cashflow - Option to include payroll
Very simply, short term cashflow does not include a range of items the biggest and most important of which is payroll. I think if you are selling this feature you should be very wary of the need for a disclaimer if the feature fails to be accurate, and decisions could be made on false information if for example the biggest expense item being wages is not included.
Granted it should be something people take great care when making financial decisions and should note the issue, many don't have great financial literacy which is part of why xero was created in…
17 votesThanks for your feedback here, everyone. To confirm, if you're using Xero Analytics Plus the dashboard can predict payroll expenses if they’re reconciled as spend money transactions or bills, and are regular in amount and frequency. To manually include payroll expenses, add them as upcoming money out transactions.
We don't have any planned changes for how these type of transactions are represented in Short term cashflows in the near term. If there are any updates made we'll share this with you here.

Multicurrency - Stop showing archived Tracking data in reports
Please can you add the ability to stop archived tracking codes appearing on P&L reports just because they had a foreign currency item at some point.
- Archived tracking codes, with no data in current FY or reporting period appear because years and years ago it had foreign currency trans.
- The currency L or G are not relevant to the current reporting period. The FY is closed, in some cases years and years ago - there is no need for it to keep appearing. Please stop this happening.
With the new 200 tracking code reports now released this problem…

Assurance Dashboard - Add Reporting Functionality
The assurance dashboard has been around for a while and it's great to have a number of checks accessible in the same place. However, there doesn't appear to have been much development in this area i.e. we are still not able to export out reports from the Assurance Dashboard.
A client reached out today looking for an easy to run report showing bank account number changes. This is an important item to check on for businesses, particularly entities that have bank accounts loaded into Xero by multiple people, use batch payments etc. Accessing this information through the assurance dashboard is…
16 votesHi everyone, appreciate the feedback on my last question. I've slightly amended the title of this idea. As a bit of an update from when I last posted we have actually made an update in History & Notes as I know some of you were interested in - You can now Export to PDF or Excel from this screen and you'll find there are filter options to help you zone into the items you're most interested in looking at.

BAS - Include Sales Invoice number
It would be great if the Activity Statement Transaction reports included the Sales Invoice number in addition to the Reference field. The old full BAS report used to show the Sales Invoice number as the Reference field on the report.
We use simPRO for Invoicing and when the data is imported the Job No/Order Number is imported into the Reference field in Xero but we sometimes issue multiple invoices per job so the Invoice number is much more relevant as a reference.5 votes -
General ledger details - Add Posted date and Posted by columns
I was requesting for "Account Type" and "Source" as options that can be added to "Journal" report.
Staff replied these options are available in "General Ledger Details" report and "Journal ID" is also available in "General Ledger Details" report now.
However, the "General Ledger Details" report does not have accounting entries posting date and who was it posted by.
Please add (1) "Account Type" and "Source" to "Journal" report, or (2) "Posted Date" and "Posted By" to "General Ledger Details" report.7 votes -
Top Customers Report - Ability to show chart in Net figures
To be able to run Top Customers report showing the net figures and not just gross.
18 votesAaah thanks for the clarification, Vicky and Alex. You could use the Management report to add the Top Customers report. Appreciate that the chart itself displays for Gross figures right now. We'll continue gathering interest for this here.
In regards to the sort order of the report - By default contacts will be sorted by the Gross column, however you can add a Net column and re-sort by clicking on any column header. 🙂

CIS - Ability to add CIS Codes
Have the option to create nominal codes and assign them to CIS returns to allow for more granular review of costs. E.g. Bricklayer expense, Plumber expense etc.
61 votesHi everyone, thanks for your feedback on this idea. We appreciate you sharing how important more granular CIS tracking is for your businesses. Some of you have mentioned that you currently use tracking categories to achieve the breakdown required, we understand however this may be suitable for everyone.
After review, we're updating this idea to Not in the pipeline, meaning our product team has considered it but it's not on our foreseeable roadmap. We know this isn't the update you were hoping for, and the idea will remain open for votes so we can continue to gauge community interest.

Fixed Assets - Search by Serial Number
It should be possible to search Fixed Assets by serial number using the existing search box.
Otherwise the Fixed Assets registration feature is not that useful, because if you have i.e. 50 of the same asset you have to manually open all 50 assets to find out which one actually matches the SN of the asset you are disposing.
If you can't search based on the serial number, what is even the point of entering it?
27 votesHi everyone, thanks for your feedback and detail of why searching b y serial # would be of use. We understand how this'd be beneficial when you have multiple of the same asset being registered.
At this time, as with a few parts of Xero our product team in the Fixed Assets space are focused on updating some core Fixed Assets technology to provide future capability and a consistent look and feel to what you've begun seeing in other parts of Xero like reports, and invoicing.
We'll keep watching the support for ideas closely and share any updates with you all.

Short-Term Cash Flow - Split payments on Bills
Hi
Client is wondering whether there is a way to split bills in the cash flow prediction to show half the bill being paid on this day and the remainder on another day. Currently you can tell it that we estimate to pay the bill in full on this day but can't see an option to split the bill.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks

Account Transactions report - Add Transaction number
I exported the Detailed Account Transaction Report. Additional column I need is the transaction number so I could group or filter the specific transaction/s that I want to conduct further analysis.
Thank you.
7 votesJust to check, when you say Transaction number would this be the journal ID or the transactions reference number, Archie?

Fixed Assets - Ability to select account/s for disposal
Currently, the accounts you choose for fixed asset additions and accumulated depreciation are also used for disposal and depreciation on disposal. It would be helpful to be able to choose different accounts for the disposal transactions from those used for additions.
For example, fixed asset additions would go to an 'additions' account, depreciation in the year goes to a 'depreciation charge' account. Disposals go to 'cost of disposals' and 'depreciation on disposals accounts'. This keeps everything separate and mirrors the corresponding figures required for Ltd Company statutory accounts in the UK.
Being able to choose different accounts makes it easier…

Reporting - Option for selective printing (similar to XPM)
Only option is to export documents from Xero. Can the Print option, like in XPM (see attached pic) be added
7 votesThanks for your engagement in this idea, everyone. Apolgies it's taken so long to update you here, and appreciate the confirmation of where you'd like to see this.
We want to be honest that we don't have any planned work for developing print options at the organisation level atm. If there's any changes to share we'll let you know.

VAT Return - Next and Previous when reviewing invoices
When reviewing a VAT return documents, the ability to see the invoice without having to go in to bills to pay to find the invoice and review it was great. How about adding a next and previous button to the top of the screen when you left click on an invoice within the VAT return?
At the moment we have to click the x in the top right corner and then left click on the next invoice to review. when review large VAT return with many transactions you can get lost and end up clicking in to an invoice you…

User roles - Reports access with no payroll (including accounts)
We want to give access to reporting to one of our managers however we don't want them to be able to view all payroll information. Therefore I am looking for a function that can give access to all of Xero except anything to do with payroll so all nominal codes to do with wages would need to be invisible etc. Journals would another thing that needs to be hidden.
11 votesThis is really useful to know, thanks Josh - Though we don't have immediate plans for change around this, we really appreciate you sharing the detail of how you'd see this permissions working best for you. We'll keep an eye across this one here, and let you know if there are any updates.

Reports - Coloured text for variances on new reports
Prior to the new reports we were able to select different colours for budget variances on our Xero reports. Green for on budget or better than budget and red for below budget.
This was immensely useful when going through reports in monthly management meetings as it meant over or under performance in any line was easily recognisable.
Please can you bring this simple feature back!
