  2. Email alerts for failed TIN Matches.
    We have not received any alerts or confirmation emails on 1099 filing status. Having to login and check each client is cumbersome. Being able to see statuses on filing in one place would be great.

  3. I'm looking to get more information from this report. Essentially, I'd like to combine "Bank Reconciliation Summary" with "Bank Summary" or "Reconcile Period" where there is an opening balance, add deposits, less withdrawals to get the bank statement balance, then add outstanding deposits and less outstanding withdrawals to get the book balance (balance on trial balance). It should display the source (account) currency and local (reporting) currency (as the "Bank Reconciliation Summary" already does).

    Hi Rodd, thanks for your suggestion. We understand how being able to run the Bank Reconciliation Period report before a period is locked could help with reviewing balances and identifying issues ahead of finalising the period. We’ll monitor the feedback and interest shared here.

  4. Sort "Transactions by VAT box" by the sub headings i.e the Account and not just by Date. It would make it a lot easier when revieweing the VAT return. If I could sort by the Account I could go scroll through and easily see if anything has been posted to an account that doesn't attract VAT such as Entertainment or Insurance and ensure there are no transactions posted there.

  5. Extend the screen on budget manager to see all 12 months including the total. It is time consuming to scroll down and across when checking totals.

  6. US Tax: don't show tax rate for non-taxable items

    Why is Sales Tax showing as a % for Shipping when shipping is set as not taxable?

    I see there's a pop-up that says it's at 0% tax, but it's very confusing to the customer, showing a tax rate, and have explain that in fact Shipping Is not taxed

    Hey Andrew, thanks for raising this Idea with us, we appreciate the time taken to do this. Thanks for sharing this feedback. We understand why this is confusing when shipping is set as non-taxable, but a tax rate still appears on the invoice.

    This idea has now moved to Gaining Support. This will allow us to monitor the Idea to better understand how much interest there is from other customers, which helps inform future prioritisation.

    For now, there isn’t a change to share, but we’ll continue to track the feedback being added here.

  7. When editing a report, please make it easier to add multiple rows or columns at once - either by allowing continuous clicking on the "add row/column" button, or by providing more options beyond a 5 x 5 when creating a table.

  8. Only show 'open items' on Balance sheet

    Have an ability to match items in a balance sheet account, so only the 'open amounts' (which make up the total) are visible eg for accruals - don't have to see all the old accruals, and the invoices that have cleared these out. Would be able to see summary of just the 'open amounts'

  9. New Zealand Inland Revenue Department requires reciepts to be signed by an authorised person. . This does not appear to be possible possible with Xero at present by inserting an electronic or jpeg signature. With a significant number of receipts our charity issues this can only be done manually and a scanned copy sent.

  10. Import a completed year end file into Xero. Store in Custom report, can't be amended, as this represents the final published accounts. Would be great to keep a permanent copy here, like all of our previous Published reports, that we can no longer use due to a change in reporting standards (NZ changes to incorporated societies reporting requirements under XRB).

    Thanks for sharing more detail around your suggestion. We understand the request to upload prepared year-end reports into Xero's Published Reports so all final financial records can be stored in one place. Having the ability to keep these documents alongside reports created in Xero could make record keeping and year-end reporting easier.

    In the meantime, you can upload completed reports to Files to keep them stored within your Xero organisation.

    We've updated this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest from the community. If this would improve your workflow, add your vote and share how you'd like to use it.

  11. The ability to create multiple custom budget reports which show budgets and transactions which can easily be emailed out to colleagues at the same time. This is useful if a Xero user has multiple budget holders to report to. This should be able to be emailed as both PDF and Excel.

    I would like to request that we keep the publish button on the new GST layout. The new GST Return layout does not have the Publish to Reports function (this has been removed). The Publish Function is an important function for clients, bookkeepers and auditors to access all relevant publish reports in one place.

    Hi team, thanks for continuing to share and support in this idea.

    While our team has continued to consider this idea since our last update, being upfront with you all here we want to share that this isn't in our current roadmap and unlikely to be developed in the near term.

    For this reason, we'll move this to Not in pipeline however should anything change this we'll certainly share an update with you all here.

  13. It would be good if Xero could use vat charged on invoices and spent on bills to calculate what the predicted VAT is for that quarter and add it into cash flow manager - rather than this needing to be added manually

  14. If I have a report and a column is a formula.

    When I export that report to excel, the column has the underlying formula in each cell.

    The column even has that formula in a cell that is in a total row. This is okay if the formula is a percentage, but never if the formula is an amount.

    A total row with an amount should always be the total of the cells above it. Never any other formula.

    Other column types (such as date), do not suffer this issue, they will correctly insert a formula that sums the cells…

  15. Instead of having 2 separate reports for Aged Payables and Receivables, there should just be one report for each, and a drop down/toggle to switch between the detailed report and the summary report. Not the biggest deal, but would make things a lot more fluid and easier. Could be replicated across other reports too to simplify the process, and make the "reports" section much tidier and easier to navigate.

    In the meantime, did you know that you will find the detail/summary version of the report listed in the Related reports section of the left hand panel when running a report?

  16. It would be nice to be able to select "year to date" when choosing comparison periods of quarters or months on the balance sheet and profit and loss statements. Right now the only way to do so is to manually do the math on how many months back the fiscal year end began, which is especially inconvenient for entities with non-calendar year ends.

  17. Can the list of favourite reports be set to default to always include the Trial balance (at least with Advisor rights). As an accountant I always run a Trial balance report and have to manually set this as a favourite on every client I log into. I also regularly use the accountant transaction report and Aged payables and receivables which are already default favourites.

  18. I would like to produce an Aged Receivable custom report that includes the NZBN number which is held in a contact file. While I can manually pull two reports and manipulate them in Excel, there is always room for error doing it this way.

  19. The ATO are pushing hard to collect debt, and as Accountants we want to keep a finger on the pulse of amounts owing to the ATO for our clients.

    At this point in time, i am not aware of a report we can generate through the ATO portal which tells us ALL the debt which is owed by our clients, across all their accounts, Tax, GST, Super etc.

    Yes there is an integrated debt report we can run, but it only shows the ICA debt. By accident if someone has an ICA debt and a tax debt both will appear…

    Hi Richard, thanks for sharing this idea. We understand how having a report that shows a client's total ATO debt in one place could make it easier for practices to monitor outstanding tax obligations and prepare for client conversations.

  20. In Cash Flow Manager (Reporting / Cash Flow Manager), once a Projected Recurring Cash In/Out amount has been entered, you cannot edit the date that it is received/paid in the cash flow.

    You can edit the start- and end-date for recurrence, but the date it is received/paid is locked to the date set when you first added the Projected Recurring Cash In/Out amount.

    Please allow the date that the amount is received/paid to be edited.
