  1. Having a rolling last-30/60/90 day P&L option.

    This is present on Quickbooks and is frankly surprising that Xero doesn't have it.

    I want to be able to check the dashboard mid month and see how the last 30 days have been. This isn't possible without manually inputting the dates.

  2. On the 'to file' tab when you click into a client's tax return there's a blue button that says 'File' right next to the three dots that you would click to suspend a return. I believe this is too easy to accidently click and can lead to tax returns being lodged on accident. If there was a pop up that says something like 'Would you like to lodge now' that would be a good safeguard.

  4. Ability to add manual notes to Aged Receivables report. Currently we have to export the aged receivables report to excel to keep a log of the latest feedback/updates regarding overdue debtors. By adding manual comments directly on Xero, all users will have access to the latest feedback/follow up comments on overdue debtors. This will increase efficiency and ensure better control of our bad debts.

  5. Not an idea, just something I noticed. We had a vendor with a "spend money" and a "receive money" for the same amount. When filing the 1099s, it did not account for the "receive money" and would have overstated the 1099 by $5,300.

  6. For instance, the total for all journal entries is zero, so it would never come up in an amount search result. It would be nice to be able to determine whether a specific issue has already been handled, or if a transaction had been booked if you only know one of the amounts but not the total. This would save a great deal of time.

  7. Reports with custom periods currently have their dates 'shifted' every month, which shouldn't happen, as they do not use relative dates (they should be fixed, at least by default). This is either a bug or bad design.

  8. When exporting time entry data from Xero Projects, there is an option to export time entries in decimal format. However, the export still outputs time in hours and minutes (hh:mm) rather than in decimal hours. This makes it difficult to perform calculations in Excel, as SUM formulas do not work correctly with the exported data. And the SUM functions that appear in the Excel and Google Sheets exports do not work.

    I would expect that selecting the decimal export option would provide time entries in decimal format (e.g., 1.5 hours instead of 1:30), but this is not happening. It should…

  9. I'm currently doing superannuation for a client, having finalised their last payrun for the month. I've got the superannuation accruals report up on screen, so I can match that to what I'm paying, and to the bill in which I allocate each employee and direct contractor's super to the project they're working on.

  11. For bank accounts - it would be good to have the contact and description concatenated as for other accounts. This way account lines could easily be matched.

  12. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

    With the old style and the new style, there doesn't appear to be a way to show the journal with GST rate - it only shows the total GST as an extra line at the bottom of the journal.

    And while I'm requesting features that'll never be implemented, why not offer the ability to show journals Gross of GST (as well as the GST rate).

  13. Can we have the ability to run a P&L report using the original transaction values rather than calculated values based on the exchange rate that's been set. For example, my base currency is GBP but we need to report the P&L for a division in Spain in Euros based on actual cash figures. The multi-currency P&L report in Xero allows me to select to produce the report in Euros but for some reason it calculates all the figures based on the fixed exchange rate that has been entered rather than using the original / actual Euro transaction figures entered.   15. Provide reports (for both draft pay runs and posted pay runs) in a matrix format like other Xero reports, rather than listed under each employee. The current format makes it impossible to carry out checks or to create further reports for management.

    Given the latest update that improving payroll reports is not a priority for Xero, we are very close to leaving Xero and moving to another payroll provider for the next financial year, as all other softwares we have used during our careers have provided far more useful reporting than what Xero offers.

  16. Trial Balance new report: Be able to run a report by tracking category. At the moment there is only an option to filter but if you have many tracking units you end up running a multiple reports and need to combine them all. Really time consuming.

    My proposal attached - with such report you could do any analysis you want!
    Option to run it by month "compare with" option a dream!

  17. It would be good if on the taxable payments annual report, when it shows that the ABN has been 'provided' that this is also linked whether the ABN status is GST registered or not. This would be an easy checking tool that the GST charges has been properly done so and would make the person lodging the form to easily identify whether or not GST should be charged or not. MYOB has the function is client to check this whether its GST registered or not. Would be great for some more improvement on this making it quicker to lodge the…

  18. We need to be able to edit the start and end dates on an ITR to accommodate clients with a substituted accounting period. For companies and trusts, this is manageable because Xero allows the period start and end dates to be edited to reflect the SAP, but the same functionality doesn't exist for Individuals Tax Returns.

    Hi Brenda, just to confirm is it within the graph that you're wanting to increase the # of top customers?

    Currently, if you run the Income by Contact report with Chart & table the chart will only show the top 10 but the table will give you an ordered list for all contacts that you received income from in the period.

I would like to recommend adding 'Effective Date of VAT Registration' on the Financial settings, as this information can easily disappear amongst all the many documents we store for the client and also easily mistaken as the Date of company incorporation that can lead to many issues down the line with HMRC.
