  2. Dear Community,

    as we now have the W9 Request Feature with the 1099 Reporting, I would please request the same for the W8 Series for the 1042 Reporting. I know the forms are much more complex, but I experience that clients, even though reminded about the importance of gathering the W8s. Many completely disregard the Withholding requirement w/o the form.

  3. Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to include some non financial data in zero ledgers for reporting?
    For Example - I would like to include a 'No. of Transactions' for a period that would not be a financial number (so no balancing required) but, this number would be available to add to reports i.e creating a cost per transaction.
    We used to call these 'SKU's' and generally they would Non Financial KPI's like:- production days, FTE's, LTI's or Units produced.
    Any help would be great.

    1. Enable partial sale of assets - allows one to dispose of assets that have been added as one transaction.

    2. Enable bulk sale of assets - allowing one to select all assets involved within a sale to be sold for one purchase price i.e. sale of a fitout of a Hairdresser, over the years they had purchased numerous items and completed numerous renovations.

  5. Ability to link quote and invoice (not billing from the actual quote)
    We currently keeping time in Avaza and pulling time through on our invoices in Avaza into Xero. The actual time(our cost) is then shown in the Xero invoice which is changed to the invoice amount. I am trying to get to the ultimate spreadsheet - Quote (budget column) vs Actual cost (time) vs Invoiced amounts (this all has to be shown as the separate line items quoted)

  7. A while ago before an update, when working on a set of accounts in Blue Xero, there was an option to 'highlight text' from the main screen of the report, but this was changed to make it so you had to go to 'edit layout' in order to be able to highlight text yellow.

    It would be so great if we could have this feature back on the main page as it was so much more user friendly. I would suggest in the area next to the bold/italics/underline/bullet points area which is where it used to be.

  8. General Ledger export from Xero file. Currently when you export the general ledger transactions from Xero and import into MYOB (which we use MYOB AO for our year end Financials) the transactions are the full audit history of the Xero transactions not just what shows in a general ledger report. If transactions have been edited in any way this creates multiple additional entries and reversals to sift through in MYOB. It would be great to have the option to exclude the audit history transactions and just have what shows in the general ledger report.

  9. I need to include a Cash Summary report and bank summary report in standard management reports.

    I need the Cash Summary report format - working capital with other cash movements. I never use the default report. It includes balance sheet items as expenses and has little meaning for the clients I have viewed this for.

    At the moment, this can only be done on an individual client level and laboriously. This is not viable for my office.

  10. We have spent a significant amount of time creating our financial statement templates using the report codes to ensure consistency and quality. Using Edit Layout can cause significant issues, including notes not matching the numbers in the balance sheet. As a result, we require the ability to remove access to the Edit Layout function for selected users.
    This is a significant quality and risk issue.

  11. I understand the new journal report can add a column of "Posted by". it would be great if we can also add the "created by" and "edited by" in the report. We want to see a list of creator, editor and poster for each journal (with Journal details).

  12. Subtotals for Balance Sheet Items
    At the moment I can only get subtotals on the balance sheet by using the grouping function. Rather than doing this it would be great to subtotal certain parts of the Balance Sheet without creating multiple group headings. eg Fixed Asset accounts & the accumulated depreciation for each asset.

  14. Hi team

    We need Xero to be able to calculate tax correctly on part year returns for clients in Xero tax. Even though the date fields are available in your returns to show a part year, the tax is still calculated for a full year so the assessment from IRD differs from the return prepared in XPM.

    Currently the only option is to file via myIR which is really not good enough.

    Hi team, we appreciate the interest in being able to manage part year returns through Xero Tax for NZ. This isn't something we have in our plans at present.

    I can assure you our team are aware of the interest on this idea and if there's any progress we'll let you know through the idea here.

  15. One of the most irritating features when using the Aged Receivables Detail report for Credit Control purposes (downloading to Excel and pasting into an email) is that when selecting the Date Range under Aging periods and the Invoice Date under Aging By, it continuously defaults back to the first option.

    Kindly allow the setting of a default to prevent the system from continuously defaulting back to the system setting.

  16. Currently a Xero customer can chose to include or exclude late claims in a GST Return. What most Xero customers don’t appreciate is if they chose no then the late claim adjustment vanishes until their accountant prepares the year end reports. This can leave a client vulnerable and oblivious to significant errors over the course of a year. In my opinion at the vary least if a client says no then the late claims should be progressed to the next GST period. A phase two development could be providing the option of what adjustments can be included and what should…
