  2. Currently we create a budget for each tracking category (department).

    I have created a custom report which includes the budget for each category. I then use the formula function to sum the budgets together.

    I only want to see the formula column in the report outputted. (I realise that columns can be hidden when data is exported to Excel)

    I understand that there is not a way to show a formula column without all the individual budget columns.

    Enhancement suggestion: include a radio button for each column to hide/reveal that column in the report

  3. Custom Reports
    The formula feature only appears to work for columns that are located to the left of the formula column.
    Each column has a name, surely the name is the important element and not the position of the column on the report.
    Can the formula feature be amended so that columns from anywhere in the report can be included

  4. On Drafts there would be say 10 lines which is actually all for the same asset.

    Say I am building a product store. Using 10 different suppliers. Store, Erection, Floor, Building inside etc. I want to map all those together and register as 1 asset when done. This way the auditors see the whole store as one asset. Not 10 lines that I must show them. For instance "Thats the floor in that storage building"

  5. Project Summary Report always had actual hours and estimated hours on and since it has been updated this option is no longer available and that is 2 of the most important columns for us. Also the wording of the headings have changed and no longer match the Project Details report which is ridiculous. This report needs to be converted back to how they used to be.

  7. In the Inventory Item Summary report I can customise the report by adding a filter & then searching for a stock item eg a spigot - but there are 100 different types of spigots, & each of them need to be selected individually!!! can we please have a "select all" button???

  8. I have voted for the idea "Switch Rules - Notes to Financial Accounts" but would like to also propose an idea that may be of benefit if that one is too complex to implement.

    Enable a rule that allows an account to be shown/hidden depending on the balance.

    For example - if Accounts Receivable is a credit balance then it will display, if it has a negative balance it is hidden.
    That means that the Accounts Receivable account could be added to two schedules in the report, but will only show in one, which should align with switch rules in…

    Appreciate you thinking of other ways to solve something, Jessica. With a lot of the reporting teams concentration on elements to redevelop the most vying features from older reports in the new before their removal later this year I want to be open that we don't have this in pour plans at this stage. 

    We'll start to get a sense of the interest for this here, and let you know if there are any changes. 

  9. To be able to view at a glance the 'period taken from a customer to pay invoices' from the Due Date to when the funds have reached the supplier's bank account. This is instead of exporting the Xero report in an excel sheet and then adding a formula to calculate the difference between the two dates. Surely with all the information already stored in the Xero account, this option shouldn't be too difficult to add. Thank you.

  10. It would be very useful to be able to change the names of the General Ledger Account Types. Also Fixed Assets should be changed to Capital Assets because Capital Assets is really the applicable term because not all Fixed Assets fixed. Machinery, equipment, rolling stocks......

  11. The existing 'Statement of Cash Flows' could be enhanced to be the bridge between the P&L and the balance sheet.
    1. Term debt and cash are netted to give the movement in cash equivalents. If the statement differentiated between 'term' funding (in our case, reduction of term debt) and the 'cash at bank' balance it would better describe cash flows.

    1. Make repayment of loans a 'financing' activity. Currently it is wrapped in 'cash equivalent'.

    2. The flows in Operating Activities would be more meaningful if it highlighted where to see changes. For example, working capital changes in the period under review…

  12. When I prepare Financial Statements, I copy and edit a published set of Financial Statements from the previous year. But it is annoying that in the now draft Financial Statements, the date in the Compilation Report does not refresh to current date. So I either manually edit the date or add a Comp Report from My Xero. Either way is a pain. Any better ideas?

  13. While the new search function in Reports is excellent, especially as there are so many in the overflow button of each listed report, it is not possible to mark the report shown in the search results as a favourite.

    It would be great if there could be the option to either go to the report directly, or go to the report in the list so it can be marked as a favourite - or better still have the option to mark it as a favourite from within the search results list.

    Thanks for your interaction in Xero Product Ideas, and sharing with us here. Being transparent, we don't have intentions of adding the ability to favourite from the Search menu in Xero.

    We understand wanting to swiftly locate and favourite your reports. Right now, perhaps using Ctrl+F (Control Find) to search the name of the report and quickly navigate to this on any webpage.

  14. An inventory report - similar to the inventory item summary, but that allows the user to compare figures to prior periods. This will allow retailers and even manufacturers, to easily track seasonal trends in sales.

  15. I would like to put fixed asset categories (plant and machinery, motor vehicles etc) as the columns, and have Cost, Depreciation, NBV - bfwds and cfwds etc in the rows underneath. See attached.

    As far as I was aware it was standard to have the fixed asset note in this format so was surprised this was not already a functionality,

  16. Currently when using the new reports, bookmarking a page in Xero will take us to the specific organisation that the bookmarked screen was in.

    But when using the old reports, bookmarking a page in Xero for example Balance Sheet for the year ended 30/06/2022, when i click on the bookmark link it will bring me to the Balance Sheet for the year ended 30/06/2022 for whichever organisation i am working on. This makes it easy when i'm looking at multiple entities.

    Since Xero is phasing out the old reports, can you please bring this feature into the new report?

    Hey community,

    Thanks for all your feedback on this idea.

    As you’ve found, users could bookmark reports and that bookmark would work across organisations. However, this caused some strange behaviour when navigating between organisations in bookmarked reports.

    By including a unique Organisation ID in the the new report URLs, the data displayed is consistent with the organisation the report was bookmarked in. The result is that users can navigate away from a bookmarked report, without Xero updating the organisation.

    To be transparent here, this was a deliberate change, and there are no plans to re-implement book-markable links to reports.

  17. When I run a supplier bill activity report it would be HELPFUL if the description column actually contained the description of the invoices, or at least the start of it. For example, say a supplier is for office rent then I put in the description what period or month the rent is for. Then, if I run a supplier activity report I would expect the ******** description column to show me the helpful description I entered. Instead I get INV Ref: xxxxxx which repeats the xxxxxx from the reference column next to it. Noe useful at all, and the info…

  18. We reconcile monthly sales with an internal ordering/salesprocessing system. This is good for checking to see if invoices have been missed and also to make sure that the net sales are the same in Xero too (another fail safe check). There needs to be a sales report that is easy to run off on a monthly basis showing net figures. Currently I have to run a couple of reports off - identify prepayments and delete them in the excel version, then add another column to work out net value. The latter is not always easy as some of our goods…

  20. Account Transactions Report

    It doesn't make sense that you can separately select the 'Contact' column and the 'Description' column, but that the 'Contact' details show in the 'Description' column.

    It feels like the 'Description' column in the Account Transactions report is wrongly pointing to the 'Contact' data!

    If the 'Description' detail is not available in the Account Transactions report, this column should be withdrawn from the options available for selection.

    It would be great to get this issue fixed.

    Hi team, we want to acknowledge your feedback and the needs you’ve expressed for being able to view the transaction line description in the account transactions report.

    While we appreciate not the news you’re hoping for here - we want to be honest with you all that there are no plans at this stage to change the behaviour of this report.

    We appreciate there can be some confusion of what is shown as it does differ based on the account and the line’s origin. We have added detail within our Xero Central article, but I’ve also noted below for ease of reference.

    • For accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank accounts, and tax account, it shows the contact’s name.
    • For all other accounts, it shows the contact’s name and the item line description.
    • As manual journals don’t have contacts, it shows narration and description.
    • For wage payments, Payroll Employee displays in…
