  1. Email alerts for failed TIN Matches.
    We have not received any alerts or confirmation emails on 1099 filing status. Having to login and check each client is cumbersome. Being able to see statuses on filing in one place would be great.

  2. Can the list of favourite reports be set to default to always include the Trial balance (at least with Advisor rights). As an accountant I always run a Trial balance report and have to manually set this as a favourite on every client I log into. I also regularly use the accountant transaction report and Aged payables and receivables which are already default favourites.

  3. We deal with Overseas companies and subsidiaries, Xero does not have recognise Overseas company number usually starts with FC123456, Xero does no recognise this and create corporation tax return. This is another deficiency of Xero which makes me look at other software.

  4. It would be great to be able to hide formula rows in reports where the result is a nil balance. Currently we get multiple repetitive total lines on reports when there is no activity cluttering up the reports unnecessarily.

    Hi Kerrin, thanks for raising this. It’s easy to see how automatically hiding custom formula rows with no activity would make reports cleaner and easier to read.

    Without this option, reports can feel cluttered. That often means sharing something that looks busier than it needs to be, or exporting the report just to remove empty rows manually—extra work that defeats the purpose of using the report builder.

    I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can better understand interest in more report-level formatting options. If you’re able to comment with the specific reports where this would be most useful, it’ll help other users understand the use case and help the idea gain traction.

  5. Extend the screen on budget manager to see all 12 months including the total. It is time consuming to scroll down and across when checking totals.

  6. When reviewing quarterly and annual figures from the Profit and Loss report’s account transactions, we currently have to click into each Xero Me app expense to see the description and confirm it’s coded correctly. Expenses entered via bank feeds or bills display descriptions properly in the Account Transactions report, but Xero Me submissions do not.

    This inconsistency makes it difficult to quickly identify and verify transactions without drilling into each one. Competing platforms such as MYOB, QuickBooks, and HandiLedger display expense descriptions consistently, regardless of how the expense was entered.

  7. I would like to be able to hide accounts on the Fixed Asset reconciliation report so that I don't have a page full of Fixed Assets accounts that have no assets attached, and haven't been used for years.

  11. Can you raise an enhancement request for the P&L report to give 2 options- Includes GST and Excludes GST to give an option to the user(similar to the current option of Cash or Accrual)?
    If a user selects "Includes GST ", a new line item gets added showing the GST account, else default option is "Excludes GST " meaning no change to the current report.

  12. The ability to create multiple custom budget reports which show budgets and transactions which can easily be emailed out to colleagues at the same time. This is useful if a Xero user has multiple budget holders to report to. This should be able to be emailed as both PDF and Excel.

  13. We send CIS statements to our SubContractors each month and the tool that does it is very good.

    However we get no visibility of what the Subcontractor sees. Please could you add an option to bcc all the emails to a nominated address.

  14. Please can Xero improve the dashboard notifications regarding VAT returns so that it shows that the VAT return has been submitted. This would avoid me having heart failure when I log in and see the information below! Our VAT is collected by direct debit, so I know if it is submitted, its HMRC direct debit taking its time, and not my mistake!

  15. Please can you include an option to be able to view the budget further than the previous 12 months. I am trying to compare my full FY 2025, year-end 31 December 2025 to my full year's actual to report to our Board of Directors. Currently the Budget Manager in Xero only allows you to go back 12 months from the current date. I am therefore unable to generate the report required by my Board.

  16. According to HMRC there can be an adjustment to the first MTD IT return, so that the submissions are based on calendar quarters, rather than the existing standard ones. This would help align the submissions to VAT periods and documents received/bookkeeping done. So for example, the first period would be 1st April to 30th June, instead of 6th April to 5th July 2026. I understand this may only affect businesses with a year end of 31st March.
    Currently, Xero doesn't support this (confirmed 09.02.26).
    Is this needed or is there a work around?

  17. Whilst there are some templates in Email settings that we can Edit, it would be great if those that have the CIS add-on can also have the option to personalise the messages sent with the month end statements

  18. From the P&L report when opening a specific income/expense account, the list of transactions under that account shows at the bottom "Showing items" number, this number includes the first line (title) and last two totals, which can be misleading if one wants to count the number of transactions.
    I'd suggest the "showing items" number to only indicate number of transactions.

  19. Our request is to extend existing automated VAT forecasts into Cash Flow Manager.

    Xero's Short-term Cash Flow tool automatically inputs quarterly VAT payments, but only forecasts 90 days ahead. Cash Flow Manager, which gives a 6 month forecast, requires manual entry of VAT payments.

    For VAT-registered businesses, quarterly payments are some of our largest cash outflows -yet we must manually add them every quarter to maintain accurate medium-term forecasts. This wastes time and risks overlooking significant payments.

  20. It would be convenient if the dropdown for future months extended further than one future fiscal year. This can be circumvented by entering the second next fiscal year budget using the next fiscal year's months, and copying it to the correct months at year-end, when the next year's month become available, but this creates unnecessary additional work at year-end.
